Mitsie smiled softly at Sorow when he started to help the dog, "Guess you love animals..." She said softly. "Glad I calmed him down, he was scared to death when we showed up." She whispered as she lifted the now somewhat helped dog into her arms.

As they walked she said, "I'll keep him with Kikaro tonight, I know he'll be happy enough with him." She smiled and petted the puppy, listening to Kikaro squirming in the bag. She couldn't help but giggle at the images in her head of Kikaro's writhing. "Playing with your food." She thought.

Another thunder clap in the distance, though it seemed closer this time. The dog whimpered at the loud, sudden noise. "Shhh, it's ok pup...It won't hurt you." She said as she looked at the wound on the poor things leg. She couldn't tell exactly what had wounded the poor animal.

The storm had awakened Stella. Naturally a deep, peaceful sleeper, it was only noises that far surpassed any rational decibel that awoke her. And the coming storm with its ferocious growls of thunder was one of those things. Sitting bolt-upright, she gazed out the window, her body shivering. Her demon blood stirred from deep in her veins, as it usually did during a powerful storm. It made her head buzz, and control slipped. She hated the sensation.

Slipping from her bed, her body trembled as another clap of thunder exploded in the sky. Her demon blood was growing stronger and stronger, and only concentrating on something else would keep her in control. Shakily, she pulled a hoodie on around her pjs, slipped on some shoes, and disappeared out her door.

Walking briskly down the hallways, she could see the dim outlines of people outside. Stella continued walking, then ran, feeling the demon power rising up inside of her. With inhuman speed, she broke down the last stretch of hallway, erupting from the door. And then there was water. Stella had paused on the edge of the lake, and was now staring down at her reflection. There was a smiling, perky, optimistic girl waving eagerly at her, bunny ears flopping.

A deep anger welled up in her from out of nowhere, the desire to destroy this happy girl. Stella's consciousness faded out, replaced by a malevolent energy. Before she knew what was happening, she had plunged into the lake, prepared to attack the girl. But it had merely been a reflection, and with the sting of sharp cold water, it brought the old Stella back. Sitting there in two foot deep watered, completely soaked, she let out a sniffle. It wasn't her fault that she couldn't control her blood. Why should she be punished so?

Stella wiped a glob of mud from her face, along with it a few tears. Then, she stood unsteadily and climbed sheepishly from the lake. Hopefully, no one had seen that anger in her. That was not the real her. Shivering, this time only from the cold, she slinked off, looking for a distraction so the incident wouldn't be repeated.

Zach finally reached the lake, however, just before he reached it he was pushed into the ground hard. He winced, but was bedded somewhat well by the grass. Only redness on his palms and a grass stain on his elbow were the only things to show for the fall, nothing noteable. He wondered a moment as to what had passed him up. After picking himself up, we noticed a girl with rabbit ears appearing from the lake. She looked completely drenched and none too happy either. Zach didn't always have the answers as to why everything happened, but he did know what he wanted to do.

"Was that you who ran by?" he asked innocently. "Because that was pretty fast. We should totally race some time." He gave a small smile at the end of his joke. As he walked to her, he took a hand to the towel that hung from his shoulder and held it to her as he reached right in front of her. "It looks like you need this more than I do. Do you want to bring it back to me or would you like to wait up for me?" he inquired with a cocked eyebrow. He definitely played so that she wouldn't be given a chance to say no to him.

Ryoga looked at Aya for a second before watching Stella charge into the water. He stood there shocked for a second and ran up to her when the offered her the towel. "Stella are you okay?" He asked concerned as he pulled off his coat and put it on her, then he hugged her to warm her up.

Aya's eyes widened as she saw the girl plunge into the lake. Should she go over and say something? She noticed quickly that some guy had already gone up to her, though. Offered his towel. She turned around again. I'll just be getting in their way, she thought to herself tiredly. She picked at the grass, unconsciously tearing huge handfuls of it in her tense hands. She relaxed her hand quickly, standing up. She pulled on her dress a little, picking at the grass stains. She picked up her book and, steeling herself to be bold for once, walked over to the two people standing by the lake.

"Um...are you okay?" She asked the girl timidly. As soon as she said it she realized how stupid the question was. Oh well. Aya couldn't seem to get by in life without saying stupid things.

The girl had sharp teeth, the type Aya would normally associate with a vampire. All sorts of people at this school...

Sorow didn't know what else to do really, the dog would be in good hands with Mitsie, and at least by tomorrow, they could take him to get checked out. When they finally reached the dorms, he felt the rain come down all of a sudden. They were just a few yards from the doors and he helped Mitsie and Suki run through, to do their best to not get wet.

"Whew, that was close. Alright, you guys, it's best we call it a night. We'll meet up at the cafeteria tomorrow after classes, and take the pup with us." He hugged Suki and then Mitsie, giving her his dorm number. "In case you need me, you can catch me here." He said to her and gave them both a final goodbye before heading back up.

"Thank you for asking, but I'm great," Stella replied to the other girl, trying to grin through the mud. It was a pathetic excuse for a smile, but she didn't want to seem like a pessimist.

Turning back to the boy, Stella said, "Oh, that's okay. I don't need a towel. I'll be fine. But thank you though." Again, smiling seemed like the best option. But then, she began to wonder if she was smiling too much and whether or not it was actually creepy. Frowning just thinking about it, she wiped the remainder of the mud from her face and murmured, "Could we run? All of us? Running is fun."

Yes, it was late on a school night. Yes, she was soaked. But there was a thunderstorm on the horizon and she needed some good distractions. People and running happened to fall in that category. "What do you say?" she asked hopefully.

A smirk came on to Zach's face. "Well, I was planning on doing some swimming, but I want to see how this goes a lot more." His thoughts about joining the swim team were already gone as far as he was concerned. This would be a chance to prove he was just as good as a demon, but it still was a long shot at that.

He walked up a bit closer to a path that would lead back to the school just a few steps back the way he turned and took the liberty of getting himself in his runner's position. "Ready whenever you are," he joshed a bit as the position set him to raise his backside at the two girls. He turned back to the one with the rabbit ears and winked, turning his head forward again and waited impatiently.

Aya shrugged, taken aback a bit at the girl's response to run. Well, why not. Aya wasn't particularly fast, but she liked the feeling of wind in her ears, the feeling of freedom.

Aya smiled, a smile that brightened up her face like a lamp. "I'm ready if you are," she said, laughing. She lined herself up with the girl, hands by her front leg, stretching into starting position in spite of her dress. She quickly tied her hair up with a spare hair band and nodded decisively. "Okay? Ready--one, two, three--GO!"

She took off, arms moving back and forth quickly to help her go faster. Her hair streamed out behind her, the air fluttering in her face. The thunder excited her, pushed her on, going faster and faster. Faster than she usually ran, definitely, and maybe even faster than she'd ever gone. Aya had never been one for sports. Track just seemed pointless, going around and around in circles until someone told you you were done. But this, just running, no direction, no reason, just because the girl had suggested it--was a whole different feeling, a different world entirely.

The girl had leapt off like a graceful deer of sorts, and was trucking across campus at a moderate click. She imagined that the human would pose little to no threat, especially since the majority of her own powers lay in speed and agility. But the girl was picking up speed. Stella's eyes followed her for a moment, then she exposed her pointed teeth in a delighted grin.

Competition, she thought, completely out of character. It was almost the feeling she got during a good rock-paper-scissors match; lust to win. Win? There was no goal or end line. It didn't matter. The fact was that there was someone challenging her area of expertise.

Springing from her starting position, Stella tore off after the girl, not aware of the rain beating on her face of the mud flying from her pjs. The target was Stella's only focus, and with her demon blood strong as it was, she caught up to the graceful girl in no time. Her own movements were more jerky, quick and darting, hardly graceful. But then again, it wasn't a dance: it was a run.

Neck and neck, she ran, keeping to the girl's pace just to turn and smirk at her. A devillish little grin that held words to the effect of 'See ya!' Then, with obviously inhuman speed, she burst forwards, gaining more and more velocity. There was no target now, just the raw, living energy burning inside of her, begging for a release. Even at her top speed, Stella would most likely spend the entire night running.

Zach spend after the girls, pumping his legs like pistons, pushing as hard as his human body could stand. He kept up by taking a few strategic leaps around certain areas of rising ground, but couldn't quite make it close enough to either of them as he was dressed to swim, not run.

The rain came down and cooled his body, for a moment, there was relief. As he ran faster, it seemed one of them shot out of direct sight and was left with only one of them now. He pushed himself harder, but found it difficult to move as his swimming trunks now stuck to his thighs, slowing him down and doubling in weight with water. The towel, once meant to dry him, was now absorbing the falling water and slowing him down even more.

The school grounds were close enough and the race didn't seem like it would last much longer. Something felt odd for Zach. The colder air starting hitting the back of his throat, stinging his lungs and causing him to jolt with a wheeze. He coughed a bit, but kept running with determination. It wasn't long until the lack of oxygen from his coughing would slow him down, causing him to come to a stop.

His knees hit the grass, kicking up water as they sank deep in to the mud. Losing his balance, Zach held out his hands and slammed them against the ground in front of him. With his head hanging forward, Zach began to cough more and more. His head felt lighter, the ground didn't seem to want to stand still. It wasn't even the first day, but Zach knew exactly what to expect.

He was catching a cold.

Aya's mouth bared open in a wide grin, turning her head slightly to look at the other girl as she caught up, light and fast. And then, as she was overtaken!

Aya's mouth formed a perfect "o" as the girl raced past her. Feet pounding on the ground, she pushed herself, a surge of energy, and she could see the girl far in front of her still---wait.

Aya turned around at the sound of the boy coughing. She'd almost forgotten he was there. She stopped quickly, walking back towards him quickly. "What's wrong?" She asked concernedly. "Are you...?" She looked at him on the ground, and turned towards the girl.

"Come back!" she yelled loudly. The race seemed to be over. Hopefully the girl would hear her. It was probably just a cold, but she wanted to make sure. They should probably get a good night's sleep before the first day of classes, anyway. Time to go in...

In the back of her mind, Stella could hear someone calling her. At first, she dismissed it as some sort of an illusion, and continued on. But there was a sound that was missing; the sound of opposing footfalls. Stella slowed to a halt and glanced over her shoulder, panting slightly. Far, far back, perhaps 1,000 feet or so, she could make out two stationary figures. It would seem that her mind had not been playing tricks on her.

Lightly, Stella sprung back, her ears flopping about comically. She looked between the girl, who was hovering, and the boy, who was wheezing. "Is he okay?" she asked, her voice back to normal; chirpy and high. He certainly didn't look okay.

Zach nodded a bit, breaking the coughs as he began to breathe in deeply. The rain felt like it stung his very bones with each icy cold drop. His body was hot from exerting himself, so when the water hit him to cool him off, an imbalance set that confused his nerves. However, Zach wasn't aware of much of the sensations. The endorphines of running numbed him somewhat. He grit his teeth momentarily as he starting feeling his heartbeat in his head.

Staggering to his feet, he looked at both the girls. So much for first impressions, he thought. Now they'll probably think I'm a wimp or something.

"No, I'm fine," he spoke as his breath caught up to him. "I'm not really used to this... weather." He looked about the rain for a better excuse. A sneeze broke his searching and forced him to make a decision. "I probably should go inside. Would either of you like to join me for a quick dinner?" he inquired, searching for another opprotunity.
