Cluey-kun Guys this is how a medical student thinks before he writes his board exam (I swear this was me today xD) Me: *reading a question* "A 7 year old boy on his sofa sipping hot cocoa and petting his cat" Me: OMG OMG! Cat scratch fever! Bartonella Henselae?? Cat litter? Toxoplasmosis gondii? *continues reading* "And the fresh scent of his mother's cinnamon rolls comes in through the kitchen. Also, Mozart's string quartet plays in the background." Me: ...guess the cat's out of the picture ._. ... ....... "What sensation bypasses the thalamus to reach the cortex?" Me: ..... -.- So much for the cat! i don't get it...

It means we have to take ethics into consideration. E.g. Jehovah's Witness...we can't transfuse them with blood if they refuse to accept it, even if it's a medical emergency. Unless the Jehovah's Witness is a minor...which then we proceed regardless of their wishes or their parents' wishes.

Blame the hospital ethics committee -.- That is how they run. They have set guidelines as to what's acceptable and what's not. Do doctors have a choice? No.
