Beat the Elite Four/N last night. My team consisted of Emboar, Cofagrigus, Whimsicott, and Basculin, plus the obligatory Zekrom.
...I keep hoping that Cofagrigus will become useful one day, but so far, my efforts have all been for naught. sweatdrop
Basculin does pretty much all the heavy lifting...

Beat the Elite Four/N last night. My team consisted of Emboar, Cofagrigus, Whimsicott, and Basculin, plus the obligatory Zekrom.
...I keep hoping that Cofagrigus will become useful one day, but so far, my efforts have all been for naught. sweatdrop
Basculin does pretty much all the heavy lifting... I could never get back into pokemon after Silver and Gold. The first expansion of the pokemon was great, but after that they just started getting too weird for me. And way too many of them.

I mean there weren't a lot of water types this time around but really....he was just my HM whore for Surf, waterfall, and Dive. To be honest, I hated Tepig so I went with Snivy. I beat the Elite Four with Zekrom, Serperior, Carracosta, Galvantula, Krookodile, and Braviary. Had a Haxorus up til that point but felt obligated to use Zekrom at the end.

Basculin is crazy. gonk It's the one you trade a Minccino for in Driftveil City. Since it's a trade, it levels up crazy fast and has the Rock Head ability, so you can spam Double Edge on everything that gets in your way, with the occasional Crunch on the ghost types. As boring as it is, Basculin one-hits everything that's not electric or grass type.
Tirtouga is my HM whore, albeit reluctantly. I love its evolved form, but rock types are too unbelievably useless. It's essentially a water type that's weak to ground moves.
I didn't like Tepig at first either. I just wanted to have a giant pig to name Ganon. I fell in love with its evolved form, Pignite, in Nimbasa City when he danced in a musical, though. That top hat, bow tie and cane just fit him so well! gonk
Tepig is fugly, but Emboar is a beast. With Rollout, Heat Crash, Assurance, and Arm Thrust, it can take on pretty much anything that's not psychic or water type in only a couple of hits.
