In response to Kiah’s first question, Sil nodded a little numbly. “Yeah, I did. This place is my home. I’ve been here ten years now and I wanted to be able to protect it more than anything in the world,” she responded, her voice softly moving through the air, and though it was low it was filled with conviction. “If you gave me this option, I would have chosen it still, I promise you that. It’s just… a proverbial example of having your cake and wanting to eat it too,” she smiled a little ruefully, knowing that even if she was promised the ideal life she would still be right where she stood now. In a room full of insane potions in a dark, dank castle that somehow became her home several years ago, filled with the craziest people she would ever likely know and love. She wouldn’t have been engaged to a General and dating a Bookman—it was practically her modus operandi to break the rules yet she doubted herself so heavily.
Easing up carefully, she side stepped and tip-toed through the potions and eased herself down next to Kiah, listening intently to her words. Her heart skipped, remembering that Lavi had said something very similar the night that he had finally accepted that he felt something for her, that he wanted to be with her, and yet she questioned the very philosophy that had brought them together. She wanted to argue the difference to Kiah, that there was responsibility in knowing her lifespan would end shortly, but if she advocated that then Lavi had responsibility in knowing he would be leaving. She wasn’t sure when life became so complicated and twisted, but somewhere along the way it had. She sighed, defeated, but also releasing a burning, anxious breath from her chest. It was nice to feel reassured that she wasn’t selfish in wanting to mesh two worlds together that didn’t belong.
“I suppose you’re right… I don’t know why I’m even worrying about it,” Sil stretched a little, curving her back against the parlor chair that had been stored in the room. “The chance of another man wanting to marry me is pretty damn small,” her tone was teasing, though it was also true as long as she was devoted to Lavi. “Even smaller for me to want to marry them. And you know, if you’re meant to be an Exorcist it will happen… but even if you feel like you don’t help, we couldn’t do our jobs without you guys supporting us.” Her head was leaned against the back of the couch, but she turned her face to look at the other girl with her eyes firm and serious; their lives would be much harder without them. “I mean even right now you’re helping me…”

Once she was assured that the feeling of wanting Innocence would remain, Kiah sighed, still wishing that she had the means to protect their ‘home’. She wasn’t sure when she started thinking of everyone in the Order as a type of family, but the more time she spent with everyone, the more she came to trust them and worry about them. There were still times where she didn’t feel she should be included at all, because of the things she kept to herself and the guilt of leaving the only other other home she’d ever known, but the moments when everyone came together seemed to make all of those negative thoughts disappear. “I think anyone in this building would chose to take it... but the important question is, do you regret having it?”
“I think you’re wrong on that account,” she smiled, making her way back to the couch and curling up on the side of it, closer to Sil’s chair. “I’m sure you’ll find someone that’s meant for you again soon. You’d be quite the catch~.” Kiah blinked at her words, hoping that there was an Innocence fragment out there just waiting for her to come along. “That’s what somebody else told me... I wish it would accept me as an accommodator soon...” Nobody but Kanda had known how much she wanted to properly fight in the war, until now.
Kiah furrowed her brows in confusion, staring back at the determined girl next to her. “I suppose it’s true that we can help out quite a bit... but t don’t think I’m really doing anything right now...,” she shrugged, leaning on the arm of the couch with her elbow, chin cupped in her hand.
