Kiah's response had been anything but expected. As was the way of The Order, rumors kept their lives interesting, and the talk about her and Cross's relationship had been a hot topic since the start. The notorious womanizer settling down with one woman had been something many hadn't ever thought they would live to see, and she couldn't help but tack on in thought: with me, of all people. Either way, there was hardly a soul that hadn't heard something about it. He was a General after all, not that she was an important part of the story really other than being a great dramatic plot device. It could have been any girl and the rumor would have been just as interesting. It just so happened she was that girl.
"You... didn't know that? I thought everyone knew that. Really, I think there's a parable in The Bible on it or something now..." She blinked for a moment, not sure what to make of her near whiplash turning speed. A noticeable wince followed as the utter shock of her past engagement caused Kiah to douse herself quite soundly with one of the potions she had just told her to be careful with. With the strength of her response, Sil couldn't help but mutter a little bitterly: "Is it really that surprising...?"
As Kiah's hair started to turn blue, she sucked her lips in trying to decide if she should say something or not. Likely the answer to her muttered question would be the dictator of her kindness.

Kiah was never one to go out of her way to find out information from the rumor mill just to have something to talk about, partially because most rumors only had a small bit of truth to them. For the most part, the reason she didn’t pry was because she didn’t appreciate anyone trying to reveal all of her secrets, so why would she hunt down all of the biggest gossips to ask about the lives of her fellow Order members?
“I’m usually not up-to-date with the latest scoop, you could say... That or I’m usually not paying much attention. I don’t like to snoop into other peoples’ business... Especially when it might not even be true,” she shrugged, still searching her person for any side effects of the potion. “Who was he, then...?”
At Sil’s sour response to her surprise, Kiah’s eyes widened in understanding to how her reaction could have been taken the wrong way. “Oh, well... I mean, it’s not THAT surprising, I guess... It’s just that you seem to give off that, ah, independent, I-don’t-need-to-have-a-man-to-be-happy kind of vibe...,” she trailed off in embarrassment. “I don’t know... I guess that sounds silly, now that I think about it, since you can’t really control those kinds of things...”

Sil pursed her lips together tightly as she thought about Kiah's statement, wondering what rock she lived under to not hear the rumors around the Order. When people lived and worked together so continuously, news spread fast whether it was true or not. Then again, it wasn't easy to filter the truth from the overly exaggerated, so she couldn't blame Kiah for turning a deaf ear to everything.
As she asked who the mystery fiancee had been, her neck grew hot and she chewed her lip gently. "Well ah... Funny story..." Her hand gently rubbed the back of her neck, eyes tracking to Kiah as she patted herself down seemingly already used to her violently blue hair now. Even if she loved Kiah, she thought it would be much more amusing to hear her freak out when she looked in the first mirror she came upon and discovered what the potion had done. "I was engaged to General Cross... for about two years," a little nervous laugh followed that, wondering if Kiah had also avoided Cross's rather dramatic and extensive reputation.
"I... well... yes, you can't really control who with and when you fall in love even if you are fiercely independent," Sil shrugged her shoulders a little, "but I'm... not seeing anyone now, so I guess I still fit that head mold of yours." She gently poked Kiah's forehead, smiling gently, trying to be as honest as possible if she could help it. She had to hide enough of her current relationship and so much secrecy was exhausting. Being open was refreshing. "I think even the strongest of women fall prey to a man eventually. There's just something infuriatingly hard to resist about the men who somehow complete that part of you that you didn't know was missing. You're next, likely~"

Satisfied that nothing about her was amiss, Kiah turned back to Sil and listened with her mouth agape, having been told of the man before she left for the European Branch. If it had been said to her by anyone else she would have ignored it and gone on with her day, but the fact that Branch Head Renny had specifically warned her away from his womanizing charm caused her to be very wary of him.
“S-so... You and General Cross, were going to get married? Why... didn’t you?” she questioned, wondering if it had anything to do with him cheating on her. From the few times she’d interacted with him, he seemed to be nice enough, but she had no clue how he was on a day-to-day basis. Her vision went out of focus for a second when she went crosseyed at Sil’s finger on her forehead, smiling at her words. “I suppose that’s true... but I know you’ll find someone else that can handle your stubborn personality,” she teased lightly, sorting through some of the potions again.
She blushed as Sil predicted that she’d find a man in the near future, scoffing in disbelief. “I highly doubt that much. I’m perfectly fine on my own right now, not to mention that it’s more simple this way.” Kiah was deluding herself a bit, somewhat knowing what she meant.

((Awwwww thank you ;3; I made that one to go along with my friend who cosplays Princess Peach as a three day cosplay. Someone stole one of my Luma's from McDonalds though. orz Uhuuu.

Sil almost winced as Kiah asked why her and Cross were neither still engaged, nor married. It was a burning question and one that still made her insides squirm when she thought about it. "There's no real story behind it. Cross is... believe it or not, a wonderful person once you get past his... attitude," she leaned onto her knees, rubbing the edge of a potion bottle thoughtfully. "When you become an Exorcist, your life gets a little more complicated. We can't leave the Order unless we die, or until this war ends," she didn't scoff, but the way her voice dipped indicated that she didn't expect it would happen any time soon. "Then when you add a General into the mix, you add... a lot of enemies who would do anything to damage you through the things you love," it was a work around answer, but she hoped that Kiah had gotten the point of it. "We're not meant for a normal life. Marriage... children... it just... it's not possible."
However, at Kiah's blush Sil couldn't help but teasingly pinch her cheek and pull it a little, making a cute face. "That's what I said too, and look at the mess I ended up in. You're doomed, really. I wouldn't be surprised if you already met the man who will change your tune," she stuck her tongue out and wiggled it with a little playful raspberry. "You're a worker-- you can have that nice, normal life."
