((WHOOOO REBELLION.

*Tackles lurking Lavi.* <3 ))

Sil had given her word and intended to keep it. She promised Liv that, despite her lack of mystical finesse, she would do a tarot card reading for her. In her own personal opinion the tarot reading was all novelty and she usually treated it as such, though she liked to give a good dramatic show of it just for laughs. Her and Liv had decided to make a little night out of it, and once again Sil was playing her solo card game with her commandeered set of tarot cards on a kitchen counter she had also claimed as her own. Jerry had made her an ice cream sundae the size of a small horse and she couldn't help but lick the whipped cream from a spoon lazily as she concentrated, waiting for Liv to show up.

(( =w= ))

Liv was a little too eager to have her fortune read with Sil's tarot cards. Even if no one else believed in that sort of thing, some part of her had always put some stock in fortunes and the like. When she trotted eagerly into the room and spotted the enormous sundae, her eyes widened. She shouldn't have been all that surprised really, with Sil's track record when it came to her appetite.

"That looks tasty," Liv laughed and joined her at the table.

((<333333333))

Sil had just been scooping up one of the cherries, swirling it around in chocolate fudge sauce with a blissful expression touching her features. There were not a large number of upsides to the Parasitic Innocence type, and the appetite that came along with it was not necessarily one of those upsides, but she could eat whatever the hell she wanted in large quantities and not gain a pound. As Liv came in she smiled, pulling the cherry stem with the fruit clenched behind her teeth with a quiet pop. "You want some? I suppose there's a little extra~"

She patted the bar stool next to her, then busied her hands scooping up the game she had just been playing with little regard. "Sorry it took me so long to get back to you on this..." She grimaced apologetically, but even if it wasn't required she wanted to respect Lavi's understandable distaste in the mystical. "I only know how to do this out of a book though... so you have to tell me what kind of uhm... 'reading' you want me to do."

"That'd be great~" she grabbed an extra spoon before sitting on the stool, "No, it's alright. There's no rush really..."

Though she said the words, she felt like it couldn't happen soon enough. She scooped up a large spoon of ice cream and fudge, taking a dainty bite from it. She waited until she had finished the bite to reply, "Ah...what kinds of readings are there..?" she asked, not sure exactly what she wanted or what Sil was capable of.

"Well... in the book that I read, there's a few different options," she hummed in the back of her throat, wondering how she could explain them in a short handed way without going through all of them. She knew twelve total, though some of them ultimately had the same purpose. The cards shuffled thoughtfully in her lithe fingers, the backs slick and glossy. "It depends if you want a specific question answered, or if you want help making a decision or seeing the path your life might take, or the general past-present-future set up."

Liv thought for a moment. She didn't have any specific question in mind, and she wasn't sure if she wanted to know the path her life might take. She opted for the more general option, "I think past, present, and future will do best for me..." she took another bite of the ice cream and continued to mull it over as she waited," ....If that's alright."

"Of course that's okay," Sil laughed, as if one card reading was going to slight her more than the other. "It's all just fun and games really..." Once she had finished shuffling the cards, she slid the ice cream bowl over a little further and did what she had done the two times before; the cards curved over the counter ina smooth arc. "Now close your eyes and choose three cards... make sure you pay attention to the order and don't change their direction when you slide them out, just leave them face down on the table," she grinned and wiggled her fingers, "and then we'll know your destiny."

Liv nodded and stifled a giggle at Sil's little flourish and wiggle. She closed her eyes and did just as she was told, leaving the cards face down and not turning them around. She was very careful as she chose, her fingertips gliding along the edges of the cards until she felt something; she didn't know what exactly, but her heart did a little jump when she thought she had the right ones.

"There...," she opened her eyes and waited, staring down at the three cards with anticipation.

Once Liv had chosen her fate, so to speak, Sil gathered up the rest of the cards and stacked them neatly off to the side. "Alright, lets take a peek into the mysterious life of Liv, shall we?" Sil said, her eyes glittering mischievously as she straightened the cards out.

"Alright, so this one is the card for your past," she told her, touching the bottom of the card gently before sliding her fingers to the edge. She flipped it over with a gentle motion to insure it was facing the right direction. It revealed a card called "The Sun," the picture two men holding up the golden orb in the sky. The card was upside down and Sil made a soft noise.

"Hmm... Well... According to this card, your past was filled with loneliness and uncertainty," Sil chewed her lip a little at the card, never liking when she had to talk about strife in the background of someones life. Even if they had none, imagining unfortunate things happening was unpleasant. "The direction of the sun indicates the sun setting on a chapter of your life, but you're still trying to hold onto the warm afterglow even as the sun sinks behind the horizon, trapped in nostaglia."

She nodded with a smile, and her stomach did a little jump as the card was turned over, even if she didn't know what the card meant until Sil explained it. As Sil made a noise, Liv's smile faltered, and it faded even more when the description came. It was so eerily accurate that she didn't know how to react. Her hands folded in her lap and clenched at her skirt as she swallowed a little.

"I see...," was the only thing she could manage to say, her voice a little bit weak. After that sort of start, she wasn't sure she wanted to continue, but she had made such a fuss about it that she couldn't back out now. She cleared her throat and gave one short nod, "What's next?"
PostPosted: Sat May 19, 2012 3:02 pm

Sil hadn't wanted to dwell on the card before and could only hope that Liv's present was more cheery than her past was. Her fingers left the picture of the reversed Sun and hovered over the back of the second card, the one in the middle of the others. "This card represents your present," she gently flicked the card over in the same fashion. Unlike the card before, this one was facing upwards in the proper direction. On the face of the card was a woman gazing at her own face in the mirror, a crown atop her head and a snake curling around one of her arms as if whispering in her ear.

"This card is Prudence," Sil informed her, recalling what she had read about this card before, the meaning of it and the imagery. "Lately you've been carefully considering your circumstances and have been far more cautious than you may have been prior in your life. Like the image, the snake whispers in your ear and causes you to doubt your own decisions, causing you to second guess yourself. You are avoiding making any unnecessary or premature commitments because of your own doubt, trying to determine if the solution is any better than the problem itself."

Liv was again struck right across the face with accuracy as the second card was revealed, the meaning of it laid out plainly in Sil's words. Of course she was being more cautious. After everything that happened with Tyki, of course she had doubts about her decisions. Above all else, she definitely wasn't jumping to make commitments to anything or anyone. Her hands relaxed a little though, and she nodded again, "I understand."

What was coming next was of the most interest to Liv. As accurate as the other cards had been so far, she was curious to see what exactly her future would hold for her. There was no way for her to know if it would be accurate or not, but depending on the outcome she could only hope. She prayed it wasn't going to be something dreadful.

Sil knew from experience that the second card wasn't that far off for Liv, having spoken to her about her current life circumstances and her many doubts as of lately. It was always odd when something seemed to be accurate, though she could never really know unless she found a way to see inside of the persons mind.

Without much hesitancy, she slid her fingers along the edge of the third card and flipped it. "This one represents your future," she said, revealing a very simple card that had six chalices stacked, three on each side of the card. Sil's mouth went dry; not so much because of the meaning of the actual card, but because of the title of it. "The six of cups... a card that represents... pleasure," the last word came out a little strained because she knew that word had more meaning to Liv than to most people.

The cards meaning was pleasant, however, and she moved quickly onto the great outcome of it. "This card tells of a future where you'll immerse yourself in life and love, opening your heart to the simple pleasures of life. The card also has meanings of... a sexual nature..." she grinned a little slyly, "enjoying youth and... the acts that come along with it. You'll find harmony, a balance between bliss and strain, and perform many kind acts."

Some of the color drained from Liv's face at that word; that one word that stuck out among the rest. Pleasure. She tried not to dwell on it and took it for nothing more than anyone else might, though her hands had become tight around the fabric of her skirt again. She put on a little smile and looked at the card for a moment, then up to Sil, "Well that sounds ni-ice.." she faltered.

Sexual? The color that had been drained from her face quickly flooded back as she shook her head, "No...that..that won't be happening...but harmony and balance sounds just right."
