Are self-defense and medical knowledge, interests of your parents? I started Tae Kwon Do when I was 2 years old and studied acupuncture (the medicine part) since I was 17. Currently I am about to pass the line of halfway to 30.. crying -is still awed- I couldn't even read when I was 2. =_='
Acupuncture? Wow. Did you have to memorize all the meridian points and stuff like that? Also, is it true that the heart meridian runs from the middle finger right up the arm and that's why you can die if you cut your wrist? Far from memorizing them. I am still looking at my notes ~_~ There are damn too many combinations. Some Chinese 'sifu' came an taught a bunch of people and my mom made me go for it and he gave this long talk on all the major organ meridians. The heart one was the only one I can still remember but I'm pretty sure I have the notes somewhere....
The names confuse me though. I can never remember the chinese names for the major meridians.

@Secriden : when i think of things that gross me out (mostly having to do with the insides of a body) it just happens. and when you started talking about strings inside the body connected to the heart, and cutting it, and dying. -pause- i seriously paused for a few seconds because it was making me lose finger-feelings. sad

It can help strengthen the heart but also make it stop or make an artery rupture.

Shiraichi secriden blaugh I do that for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean shows. Sometimes, even if I don't understand ANYTHING that's being said, I can guess (pretty accurately) from the situation. I am surprised you can do that for Chinese ~_~ That is an extremely hard thing to do considering that unless you can read it sometimes it is hard to guess its meaning. -shrug- I learned Chinese when I was about 4 until I went into high school so I guess some of it is from there. I can't read Chinese but I can understand the spoken fairly well, somehow. Part of it might be my addiction to Chinese drama series. xD
