Literally. Claidheamh da Lamh & Claidheamh Mòr are the believed Gaelic terms that the name Claymore came from, the latter meaning "Big Sword", the former meaning, literally, "Two-Handed Sword". So, your call on that one.
Now, if he means a basket-hilted Claymore.. that's a different story.
