Earendil smiled. "Who first?" he asked her.
Everyone was mostly scattered around the camp, and it didn't seem as though anyone was on guard at the moment. The only people unaccounted for were still Haldia and Celeb.

"How about see how your brother is doing? Besides I"m sure he wants to know how you're doing," Lin replied.
Since the last anyone heard, Earendil's arm had been badly injured, she was sure Dareon was worried.

"Sure," Earendil agreed easily. "Come on, then."
He led Lin over to where Emile, Luk, Daeron and Aethos were all talking, with Alassëa standing nearby and listening.
"Hey!" Daeron exclaimed in delight upon seeing the two approaching them. "Look who's finally left his tent!"

Lin laughed at that, "You make it sound like he had been cooped up for days."
Between the storm and all that, the amount of time Earendil spent in the tent wasn't that unusual. At least to Lin anyhow.

Daeron laughed. "For him? It might as well have been. I can't remember the last time my little brother stayed indoors so long."
"Nor can I," Earendil admitted, chuckling, "though I'm not entirely certain that a tent counts as indoors. It hasn't even got a proper door!"
"So how are you feeling, anyways?" Luk asked eagerly. "We heard you'd been healed but I wasn't sure I could believe it at first!"

"He was healed, he probably needs time to get it back up to full strength but but it's healed," she smiled happily.
She was glad too, but it looked like Earendil was going to get frustrated from just being unable to do what he normally did alone. So it was good to see he was up and about.

"Excellent," Luk beamed. "That's wonderful to hear. And I'm sure even Alassëa is happy to hear it, right?"
He turned to the blind woman expectantly, and she smiled.
"S-sor .. y," she said haltingly. "Nn ... not ... mean ... do. Hurt."
Earendil chuckled softly. "Don't you worry about a thing, Alassëa. You didn't mrean to do it, and you more than made up for it."

"I don't know if you were told, but it was Alassëa who healed him," Lin explained to Luk, "She did an amazing job."
And she wasn't just saying that to make her feel better. Healing was a very difficult task and to do it for as long as Alassëa had, all the way to the end was an amazing feat.

Earendil raised and lowered his formerly injured arm to show off to the others just how well it was working. There was no pain whatsoever, and he couldn't help but grin widely.
"Very impressive," Aethos had to admit with a smile. "I have seen a bit of healing since I came here, and of course Lady Arwen is a healer ... but I have never seen such a terrible injury healed before, nor have I seen a healer so energetic afterward."
Alassëa opened her mouth to speak, but it seemed she couldn't find quite the words that she was looking for. She thought for a moment, a faint blush sprinkling over her pale face, and finally she simply said, "Lots use."

Well that would certainly explain why she wasn't tired, and Lin could see that. She smiled softly at Alassea understanding that it was probably a bit embarrassing for her to have so much attention.
"Still, you're quiet talented."

Alassëa shook her head and tried to speak again, but it seemed she couldn't think of what she truly wanted to say. She frowned deeply, licked her lips, and then had to think again.
"Not ... tal-ent," she said haltingly. "N-not ... n-na ... t ... l ... good. Hh ... have ... l ... lear ... nn ..."

"I understand," Lin murmured.
She nodded if a bit sadly, she knew of course it was do or die, but still. There was something amazing about Alassea, even if it was all because she had to learn.

"But even if you learned by having to use it a lot, that's still talent," Aethos pointed out, not trying to push the point but simply saying that was was indeed quite skilled.
Alassëa shook her head again. "No, not learned by use ... learned by ..." She hesitated again as she came to another word she hadn't yet heard someone else say, trying to think of it. She leaned her staff against her shoulder and put out both hands, side by side, palms up, and made a motion of a book opening and closing.

Lin blinked, her mind focused for a moment as it pushed away the fact Alassea had to learn to survive.
"Are you saying that was magic learned? Not one of the gifts you were born with?"

Alassëa closed her sightless eyes and sighed softly. She hated not being able to make herself understood ...
"Not ... no," she said, it being the best she could do in response to Lin's questions. "Gift ... learned ... mm ... mo ... rr ..."
"So it's a gift, but you learned more about it," Aethos murmured. "Someone taught you. A teacher."
"Teacher!" Alassëa just about shouted the word she'd been struggling to remember.
