Lin rolled her eyes from under her blanket, Miyuki had done it again. Throwing off her sheets, Lin wondered if she should dress first before going after her. Deciding that it would be sensible (here) to do so, she got changed instead.

Miyuki the mean while seemed to have noticed that Earendil was not waking. So she was trying to climb onto his bed, which involved a lot of pulling and tugging of the sheets.

Earendil grumbled in his sleep and his fingers tightened on the blankets so that they wouldn't go anywhere. As a result, he ended up being tugged over towards the edge of the bed without knowing it, and he ended up face to face with Miyuki, though he was still fast asleep.

Miyuki blinked at Earendil's sleeping face, "Dil."

He wasn't stirring and she wanted up onto the bed, even though his body was now blocking the way to said bed.

"Dil. Dil. Dil."

If her hands weren't gripping the blankets she probably would have poked him, she had never seen him so still.

Earendil's eyes opened just a sliver, and he mumbled something incoherent and shuffled further onto the bed again. He was definitely not ready to wake up.

In moving further onto the bed again, he pulled on the blanket, tugging it out of Miyuki's fingers.

The sheets slipping through her tiny fingers Miyuki fell, on her butt. Oddly enough, this didn't bother her so much as the fact Earendil was not awake yet. She looked up at him and pouted, which only works if the person in question was awake enough to look.

"Dil!"

But of course, as Earendil was still fast asleep, he didn't see her pout, and it had no effect on him. He let out a bit of a snore and pulled the blanket over his head again to warm up. It was cold in there ...

In the living room, Haldia couldn't help but laugh. It seemed Miyuki wasn't having any luck whatsoever. She got to her feet and left the blanket on the chair, and headed down the hall to see if Miyuki - or Earendil - needed any help.

Getting up from the ground, Miyuki stopped her little foot and look up at him. He should be up by now, Mommy was up why wasn't he?

"Dil!"

"Miyuki.... chan, if he's not up after the first time, I don't think he's going to be up," Lin murmured as she appeared in Earendil's door way fully dressed and a bit bemused by it.

A part of her wanted to see what Miyuki would do next.

Haldia joined Lin in the doorway, her expression amused. "Earendil only went to bed a few hours ago," she explained to Lin quietly. "I told him to go to bed earlier, but he said he didn't want me to be alone longer than I had to be."

Beneath the blanket, Earendil didn't move.

Lin wasn't surprised Earendil would do that, though for completely different reasons than most would have thought.

"Then it's best we let him sleep," Lin murmured padding into the bedroom and plucking Miyuki off of the floor.

"Dil!" Miyuki pouted, why where they going away without him?

He wasn't up yet.

And with everything going on, and three people in his room, Earendil just continued to sleep undisturbed.

Haldia chuckled softly. "He must have been more tired than he showed," she grinned. "Well, hopefully he will not do something so foolish again."

"It's not foolish," Lin murmured, "I mean, he just wanted to keep you company, and I think he likes to."

She held a wiggling Miyuki and decided that maybe she should get the tyke changed. Maybe food will distract her she thought as she exited the room.

"I will admit to that," Haldia agreed with a smile, closing Earendil's door and following after Lin. "He always makes sure - or at least he tries to make sure - that I am not excluded, despite my language barrier. He does not wish me to return home yet ... though I must admit, I am still undecided on the matter."

She looked a bit troubled at the thought. She was quite devided on the matter ... she would indeed be sad to leave her friends here, but she did miss her home ...

So there was hope yet then, that Haldia might stay. That would be good for Earendil, of course he would want her to stay longer.

"Is something wrong?" she had to ask, because Haldia didn't seem happy.

Haldia hesitated, and leaned against the doorway while Lin dressed Miyuki. "I ... I do not want to seem ungrateful to anyone," she said finally, "and especially not to Earendil ... he especially does so much for me ... but I just feel as if I really do not belong here. And I know he would like me to be enjoying myself here, and I wish I could too ... but ... sometimes it is hard."

She frowned and shook her head. "No, that came out wrong. It is not that it is hard to enjoy myself, it is just hard to fit in and feel as if I belong."

Lin could see how that was a problem, she seemed thoughtful about it as she tugged Miyuki's dress over her head. She would need a toy to distract later from the pants otherwise it was going to be an uphill battle.

"I understand," Lin murmured, "It's been quite difficult, the number of people who speak the old tongue is only a handful here, and everything here is a very different, so the real question is, is a long term thing. If you'll stay or go back."
