Jaded_Propaganda I think its best to get to the point in an app, yet make the approver see you know what your doing...Anyways, wutcha guys think? Like it like this?
Well I thought I dud convey understanding of what my rpc was doing even going so far as demonstrating great strength that he clan is none for. I wrote out in detail the performance of an attack and dissected movements of my rpc. As you said getting to the point was key I thought as well. I figured a post of a detailed attack, maybe show the physical strain of the body and the skills within the clan. But Greg wanted more story behind it and said I should use it show my rpc using it more, but using the ability in training to cut through a boulder to show the great strength of the clan training and art wasn't enough I guess? Just so you know I am not being facetious in anyway, I am being completely honest, genuine and open here in my thoughts.

Well, thats true, but that ALL you did. Nothing else. A roleplay sample must not only be accurate and descriptive, it has to show character usage as well as jutsu usage (Jutsu usage being a general term for whatever the sample is about). I need you to show me you understand the clan, which you have, but also that you can skillfully use your RPC to utilize the clan.

by showing understanding of their physical prowess and the inner workings of their attacks, that's how I showed understanding of the clan and the ability to skillfully use my RPC to utilize the clan. I think I gave a fair representation of a partial training post that demonstrated skill in the art, but my true posting ability is only found in combat.
Well i didn't change it much but i did add a little to it and edited it for grammar and spelling, though no one is perfect.

I believe the point that is trying to be made here is that you did more description than action. To truly show a high level of skill you must balance both properly. Too much description makes a post boring and difficult to read, while too little leaves it very vague. Too much action and the post feels cluttered, while too little makes it feel empty and pointless. I agree with an RP sample not being the best way to show your skill, and would prefer one on one testing if I were to apply. But in a sample the best way to show your skill would be to simulate a combat scenario.

Glad to be of help!
Anyway, back on the subject of D&D. You are correct that I haven't played it, though I have considered trying sometime. But the point I was trying to make is that D&D relies more on facts and figures than the player's literacy level. Both are forms of role play, but they are very different and require skill in much different ways. The only thing as far as I know that truly overlaps to any great degree is the dungeon master. Both forms have that one person who works in the background deciding how the plot will advance.
To me, D&D is the much more intricate and complicated brother of textual role play. I meant no offense in my statement about rolling the die, just that the roll is ultimately what decides your final action.

gregar828 Thank you Hinote! You knew how to type what I was trying to say! I am shockingly good at that! I can never manage to get my own thoughts across, but translating other people's so that they can be understood is easy. Kinda odd that.

Conversation at work today. "Hey, Jordan can I use that broom?" - co worker my reply? "You'll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands, but I don't want to die. So, I'll give it to you with my warm, alive hands, but still good luck on taking it from me."

Orly? The main villages that need members are Iwa and Kumo X_X Since they have the newest Kage's and all. Though, I doubt that has anything to do with it.
