The crowd in the center was really starting to piss him off. Crenu was starting to frown, but he knew that it was pointless to get upset. It was so damn crowded that it would take a while to get his pokemon back. "Damn it. I really hate crowds." He muttered to himself as he pushed through the crowd, nearly knocking over a random trainer. He could hear him protest, but Crenu didn't give a damn. Looking around the Center for anything to catch his eye, he caught a glimpse of whom he though to be M.A. The fact that she was taller than most of the other girls made it more apparent, but he had to be sure. He hadn't seen her since she left to the dinner, and even then it was only for a moment as he ran into her out of the blue. He'd seen her once before now, but she was swimming and avoiding a wardrobe malfunction, so it didn't really count. He decided to check up on her, after all that was secretly one of the reasons he came to the beach party. Crenu pushed his way out of the crowd and looked around when he was outside. He caught sight of her and followed her to a picnic area, staying a good distance away for a bit to take a good look at the surroundings and situation. With only one pokemon on his belt, he couldn't help but feel a tad nervous. Not to mention he was still a little paranoid, he was certain they were being watched by more than just regular spectators when he and Kasiya did battle. M.A. was not alone, and now she had let out two pokemon. He recognized her Houndour, but the Donphan was new. Hands in his pockets, Crenu neared M.A. and her group. "It would appear that Tora has evolved."

Kirsa looked down at Hans, who had his ears laid back and his teeth bared, clearly ready for a fight. By now the Poochyena had come closer and noticed the two, and was basically doing the exact same thing the Houndour was.

Whatever that thing was, it was adorable and Kirsa felt that she had to have it.

"Hans, voraus! Use Ho-" Her command was drowned out by the sound of not one, but two howls filling the air - both canines had used the move at the same time. The sound was a little eerie, but her determination to catch the little furball kept Kirsa from being spooked. Wonderful, they were working themselves up into a frenzy. No matter, she could do this! ...Or rather, she would command the Houndour to do this, but anyway!

The wild Poochyena was charging toward Hans, but Kirsa gave no command for him to try and dodge it; Hans could take the damage, and then the Poochyena would be too close to really dodge! That was Kirsa's logic, anyways.
Hans stood his ground and took the Tackle attack, snarling. "Hans, Ember!" The Houndour shook himself to recover from the assault, activating the internal heat sac and letting lose a short jet of flames at the other canine. The Poochyena tried to dodge but as Kirsa had predicted it had been too close; it was quick to launch a counter-attack, turning about to use it's back paws to kick up dirt into the face of Hans who, likewise, had no hope of dodging. Really, it was a wonder they didn't just go all out and start mauling one another.

"...Shake it off, Hans. Counter with Smog!" Hans brought a paw up to furiously try and get the debris from his eyes, but it only partially worked, and he didn't really have the time to waste to do it a second time. Intaking a deep breath Hans let it out slowly, the purple gas seeping out toward the wild Poochyena. The Poochyena bristled and charged through the poisonous vapor to do another Tackle attack, but with a yelp it tripped up, stumbled, and went crashing into a surprised Hans, leaving both canines in a struggling and whimpering heap - the poison seemed to have infected the Poochyena.

"......" Kirsa facepalmed, suddenly glad that no one was around to see this pitiful display. Granted they were both just puppies, but really, this was just ridiculous. "Ugh. Hans, get up and use Ember again!" The Houndour managed to free himself from the pile of fail, stumbling back a few steps and letting the fire fly. Though his vision was somewhat impaired, he was so close that it hit the Poochyena just as it had gotten to it's feet, making the pup stumble back and land on it's rump with another yelp.

Surely it was weak enough now! Giving her Houndour the command to stay, Kirsa quickly dug out a Pokeball and launched it at the rather roughed-up Poochyena, which disappeared into the ball in a flash of light. She watched it intently - the ball rocked once. Twice...

The ball wobbled one last time before there was a satisfying click, and it went still. Kirsa hesitantly wandered over and picked up the ball, peering at it.

She had caught her first Pokemon.

. . .Thankfully, no one had seen it.

Smiling, she slips the Pokeball into on of the pouches on her belt and turns to Hans, who was pawing at his face again, finally having got most of the dirt out. "Good boy~" Even though there was still a lot of work to be done, she still felt that he deserved to be praised. Kirsa recalled the Houndour and promptly followed the route back to town, humming to herself. Today certainly was turning out to be a good day. Once she was back in Slateport the little cadet went straight for the Pokemon Center, getting in the line to have her Pokemon healed, thinking of names while she waited. When it was her turn she handed over the two balls to the tired-looking Nurse Joy - the Center was so busy today, and it would probably be like this well into the evening, too. Poor things. The kind nurse soon returned the Pokeballs to Kirsa, and with a happy sounding ''Danke!" she quickly ducked out of there, not wanting to be in the way.

Hmm...what to do now? It would probably be best to let the pups rest for a little bit, plus she hadn't thought of a good name yet. She could try and find Sasha, but in this crowd that could take ages! Thankfully, that was why man invented cell phones. Kirsa fished hers out and flipped it open, finding Sasha in her contacts list and hitting the call button. Was she even back from Mauville yet? If not they could at least decide on a place to meet up...
PostPosted: Sat Jan 24, 2009 7:59 pm

Sasha had been snoozing for a good fifteen minutes before her phone starting blasting her ring tone in all its low quality glory.

At the end of the day you're another day older,
And that's all you can say for the life of the poor!

"It's a struggle, it's a war," Sasha sleepily sung back as she groped the surrounding area for the source of the noise. "And there's nothing that anyone's giving. One more day standing about, what is it for?" She found it, clicked it open, and gave the caller a loud accidental yawn before answering with a drowsy "Hello?" She figured it was Kirsa, but with the number being unknown it could be anyone.

Prickles continued his patrol, only momentarily stopping to take note of his now awake trainer. He went right back to guarding the egg, which was now shaking quite often in the warm Slateport sand.

"Oh, I'm sorry. Did I wake you up?" Sasha hadn't seemed tired when they had parted ways earlier, quite the contrary actually. But who knew, maybe all that energy she exerted had finally caught up with her. Well if her friend was sleeping then she would keep it brief!

"I made it back to town, I was just wondering if you had, and if you want to meet up later and where if so."
PostPosted: Sat Jan 24, 2009 8:22 pm

"It's okay!" Sasha was never one to fret about small issues like being stirred from a nap. Being woken up in the morning was a completely different matter though. She was not the most pleasant person when just out of bed. Hair everywhere. She stretched again; boy did that feel good! "I'm down by the beach relaxing. You're welcome to come by and join me for a bit of napping or whatever. Just be careful to no-" she yawned. "to not step on my egg when you find your way down here." she clicked the phone shut and laid back down on her blanket, unaware of her now rumbling egg.

Not step on her egg? Did Sasha acquire an egg while she was out? And 'down by the beach relaxing' what certainly very specific, but at least it was something to work with. Maybe she was in the same spot Kirsa had found her earlier. She put her phone away and made her way down to the beach, her boots thankfully protecting her feet from the scorching pavement - but when she hit the sand she wasn't so lucky, as heavy boots did not make for good treading across sand. Kirsa managed, though, wobbling and stumbling her way to where Sasha was, since luckily she was in the exact same spot as last time.

There was Prickles marching about in the sand (and seemingly having an easier time at it than Kirsa was), and there between the Cacturne and Sasha was an egg. So she really had meant it literally. The purple haired girl came to a stop next to them, peering from Prickles to Sasha and wondering momentarily if she had gone back to sleep. "...Where did the egg come from?"
PostPosted: Sat Jan 24, 2009 8:59 pm

"Laid it myself." replied Sasha in a deadpan voice. "And boy am I tired." the girl rolled over, watching her egg as it wriggled in the sand. "You catch that Pokemon you were after?" she asked with yet another yawn. She remembered her first capture. She and Lightbulb were off wandering the woods when Sasha saw the cutest little Vulpix laying in the grass. Naturally her first instinct was to capture it, and she did. But it was truly an uplifting experience. Getting your first Pokemon is all well and good, but earning your first one is even better.

Sasha grinned widely at the memory, and hoped that Kirsa had succeeded in nabbing her first Pokemon too.

It was a little more difficult to handle the ride back down, especially since they had been the last two seated before the wheel had started to turn, and even the duration of the ride was tolerable. Stopping, however, every few minutes to let passengers off, and the constant rocking of the Ferris Wheel's carriage did nothing for Ann's nerves and even though she spent the majority of the time clinging to Ampersand, she was more than glad to be off of that infernal contraption. Her legs were like gelatin and her heart rate was still well above normal, though after a moment or two of walking she was feeling better. "Don't worry about me, Amp," she said reassuringly. "I'm fine. Let's just get back." Now that she was back on the ground again she didn't feel as cold anymore, and she was mostly certain that she'd warm up again once they picked up the pace. "I'm guessing we should all reconvene anyway, and figure out the last minute details for this."

Fury Swipes, Jaeshan thought, frowning a bit. Multiple hits would mean it would be harder to dodge them, and at the moment the blonde was still far more concerned with Combusken's ability to evade over her stamina. "Do your best to avoid those hits, Combusken!" he shouted. That, but he also knew that Combusken's power and precision with her attacks had improved dramatically since her evolution from a Torchic. Combusken's expression became one of disappointment and she deftly faked to the left to avoid the initial strike from Luffy's tail. She hadn't expected him to be using his other hands though and soon her chest was decorated in stinging red scratches from the Aipom's claws. She let out an angered cry and jumped back, a burst of flames spilling from her beak as she did so. "No, Combusken! I didn't tell you to use Ember!" Jaeshan shouted angrily, shaking his head. This wasn't the first time she'd disobeyed a command when it came to evading versus attacking, and it was infuriating because he knew that if she put her mind to it, she could avoid attacks quite well.

"...Is that what this conference is really about? They are going to announce that they can breed Humans with Pokemon now?" Likewise Kirsa sounded completely serious, peering down at Sasha. "Or did they insert the DNA into you or something? I promise I won't tell anyone before the announcement." DNA? Kirsa wasn't exactly certain on what it was they did in scientific experiements, so she simply said what came to mind.

"Ja, I did. Would you like to see? I need to read the Pokedex entry on him anyways, I don't really know what he is or anything."

"I'm not healing them," Mitsu muttered as she watched Keegan give a solid punch the the blabbermouth over there. Watching him defend Kasiya both made her smile and her heart ache. Oddl enough, unlike before the pains weren't willing themselves away with ease and she struggled to push them out. Emotions were really a pain, it's a wonder why Karri, as a Ralts, had ever stuck with such an apethic person such as herself. And yet she was the most beautiful Gardevior Mitsu had seen as well even though positive emotions are supposed to beautify Kirlias. Mental note to self: another mystery to be solved she though to herself caching the tangent thought away in the deepest recesses of her mind.

Now having finished lunch and tossed the stray fries that she had deemed uneatable she raised up from the bench, not gaining all that much in height as she did so. She ws a short girl, but so be it. "This party's pretty slow," Mitsu said to her leafy Pokemon. "We should go somewhere." She stuck both hands into the pockets of her khaki board shorts before marching off, the feeling of warm sand between her toes lifting her overall mood. Ivy trotted along faithfully, happy to oblige to his trainer's whim.

Sasha merely raised an eyebrow at Kirsa's attempt at humor. It was cute, but she should stick to what she was good at and leave the funny to the professionals. "Like I said before, I have no idea. It may very well be that." All she remembered from a random flier was some guy named Rowan, who was apparently a big name in the science scene, was coming to make an announcement. It was something about new Pokemon or whatever. Not like that was the main reason she came here anyway; she was here for fun in the sun, hunks and food.

"Well sure I'd like to see it," Sasha replied, straightening herself up and getting out her own Pokedex. She turned it on. "I'm ready when you are."

Prickles turned his head at the mention of a new Pokemon, quite curious to see what kind of Pokemon Kirsa had managed to pick up. Maybe it was another dark type like Hans?

Kasiya's scrambling back took her out of the haze of smoke and sand, though both, by this point, were dying down. She quickly got to her feet, looking up at the Weezing as she heard Kilik call out for a Flamethrower. Oh no you don't, she thought, quickly snatching up Ada's Pokeball and recalling her, all the while grabbing a second one and flinging it onto the battle scene. We never said anything about switching Pokemon, though I hope I know what I'm doing here... she thought as a mass of black and orange fur burst from the sphere, standing tall as the last of the sands died away. The Arcanine looked up in time to see a jet of flames headed right for him and he didn't flinch even as they engulfed the front of his body completely.

Oblivious to the commotion Keegan was causing only a few meters away, she couldn't help but smile at Hiro as he looked at her over his shoulder, extremely happy to see his trainer again. "Good to see you too, Hiro," she said, pointing up at the floating Weezing. "I need you to do me a favour and blast that Weezing with your Heat Wave! Aim up!" she commanded, raising her right arm in a dramatic fashion as Hiro loosed the blast of super-heated air into the sky, his very fur glowing with a fiery orange aura thanks to his magnificent Flash Fire ability. All at once Kasiya could feel her confidence return to her. A large, intimidating, and powerful Pokemon like Hiro was just what she needed to show the crowd (and Kilik too!) that she was a formidable opponent indeed.

Mai blinked a few times, certain that she'd heard her sister say something about going in and she stared hard into the mixture of smoke and sand. Ugh, I knew it, that girl's nuts, she thought, shaking her head. "Nuts." It was then that she heard the tiny, yet very skeptical voice from nearby, and for a moment she ignored it. That is, until she realized it was talking to her. Some of the other people who'd been watching the battle were staring at her with eyes that rivaled those of a Jigglypuff and she laughed nervously, looking down at the kid. He had to be what, nine, ten years old? Mai raised an eyebrow and lifted up her tacky, red-tinted sunglasses to peer down at the brat more clearly. "Look kid, I dunno what your problem is, but I ain't your Ma," she said, for a moment nearly forgetting that she was currently portraying Cammy, and not her usual cold, condescending self. She twirled the end of one of her (faux) brown pigtails in her fingertips, taking in the youngster's dark, unkempt hair, and those troubled, troubled eyes. "You lost or... or.... something?" she asked, her voice slowly faltering as she stared hard into those green-tinged eyes. There was something about the look he was giving her that was not only familiar, but it also chilled her to her very core. And that was saying something for an all-around icy woman such as herself.

Leo had nothing but mild amusement to the kid and his mama-complex with Mai, though he never thought of her as a mother until now. For a moment, the motif seemed to fit her, but very quickly he dismissed it. He couldn't see Mai raising a child. Not one that would turn out to be a respectable member of society, anyway.

"Ha ha!" Flannery cheered triumphantly upon the Magby's successful escape from Torkoal's fiery prison, and even the tortoise seemed to share in the excitement of how well the young Fire-type was doing. The tortoise yawned loudly and settled into the sand, withdrawing all four legs into his shell. It seemed as though he was getting tired - he did battle that Dunsparce earlier and he was feeling quite sleepy. "I guess Torkoal's done," Flannery shrugged, smiling at the sleepy turtle. "Napalm's looking pretty wiped too though. I guess that's good for now." Besides that I've run out of things for Torkoal to do... she added to herself, but it wasn't a big deal. Napalm certainly was showing that he could take care of himself. Torkoal sent up a pillar of white smoke in reply to the stoppage of battle, though he was glad he could help out a fellow Fire Pokemon. He withdrew completely into his shell and Flannery recalled him, wandering over to her towel and kicking the sand off of it.

Adrenaline was still pretty much the commanding aspect for Keegan at the moment, so when he was approached by someone else, it was only natural for him to whirl around and face him, though he quickly saw that this kid didn't want to fight. "Uh... yeah..." he replied finally, looking back at the punk he'd hit, smiling inwardly when he saw that he wouldn't be getting up anytime soon, at least without help, that is. "You got a problem?" he continued, looking back at this new person, finally taking in his appearance. What was with all the purple? Out of the corner of his eye he saw what appeared to be a Pokemon hovering somewhat behind him, and Keegan searched his memory for the Pokemon's name. Misterius? Drearmayus... Misdreavus, yeah, that was it. But looking back to the kid, he couldn't help but smirk a little. "You're a little under-dressed for this weather, ain'tcha?" he asked, completely aware of the fact that he was being an a**. That being said, he remembered suddenly that he'd been on his way to Kasiya's side but had been sidetracked, though as he saw it now, what with the huge fire-breathing canine on the field, she wouldn't have any troubles. Not only that but he was sure he heard a collective murmur of mild approval throughout the remaining crowd (that had admittedly fanned out on this side, due to the actions of a certain redhead).

"...No good?" Kirsa spoke in reference to her rather bad attempt at humor, tilting her head some. Even she knew she wasn't very good at it, but at least she had tried, right?

After retrieving her Pokedex from her bag she released both Hans and the new Pokemon, which according to the Pokedex was a Poochyena. Interesting. As she listened to the electronic device rattle off some information, Hans stepped forward to inspect his new teammate, sniffing at him. Rather than do the same thing in return, the Poochyena decided instead it would nom on one of the Houndour's ears, which of course did not please Hans. At all.

The little cadet put the Pokedex away then turned her attention back to her Pokemon, where the situation had descended into a fierce wrestling match, the Houndour and the Poochyena rolling about, making threatening noises and kicking sand up into the air. "...I think I'll name him Rolf. What do you think, Sasha?" Kirsa looked to her pink haired friend, smiling. "Oh...and what's in the egg? Do you know?"
