"That idea did cross my mind..." His poke made her want to wrinkle her nose again but she refrained. It was immediate; she wrinkled, he poked. She stuck her tongue out and he grabbed it. Didn't matter time, place, or who was present. "I can promise to try. Is this going to upset me?" Getting up though and getting the boys up and ready as well. It didn't take long since she told them all that Daddy had something he wanted to do. Getting them to eat breakfast despite their burgeoning excitement, she tied a cloak on the youngest's shoulders and then laughed at their jumpiness. "Where to, Raven?"

"Maybe at first, but I'm planning it not to in the end." Letting her get up and tend to things around the house as he got himself dressed and then grabbed a dagger. While she was busy with the boys he took his time to make change one. Grasping his hair in his hand he began to slice silvery white strands with the shining blade. He cut it to a rather boy-short length and then he took a moment...and sliced off the braid that he had had forever and was more or less a symbol of his house. However he didn't cut it as short as the rest of his hair, leaving that one section at his right temple longer just like always and ran a hand back through his hair to make it set naturally before braiding up the longer section. He wouldn't have to explain it to Zahara...he knew she'd get the purpose and reasoning.
Next to his training room he went and grabbed that bag of ashes, tying it to his belt and pulling on his cloak. No need for breakfast for them seeing as they had eaten earlier and thus he wandered into the kitchen just as the boys were finishing up. Prepared for surprised looks of course but wanting to more or less just focus on such at hand. "To the river, Sweetheart."

"Daddy looks like me!"
"He does not. He just looks...different."
"He does so look like me!"
"Does not!"
"Does so!"
"Zykariel, you're arguing with a toddler. Kelligrin, what do you mean Daddy looks like yo-" Cut off as she glanced up and blinked. And blinked again. What? And he did look like Kelligrin since he had Sevilin's eyes. It was almost uncanny... She gaped for another few seconds then pulled herself together and nodded. "To the river." No explanation needed, she let the boys go on ahead and laced an arm around his waist meandering along behind. "I like it. It's shorter than mine for once."

Well his toddler was pleased and he wasn't sure how the other one was taking it but he didn't seem to be upset...or at least not too much. Zahara took it in stride though, just like he knew she was going to and she probably understood perfectly what the impromptu haircut was all about." Lacing his arm around her shoulder as they headed out he merely smiled lightly as they went, watching the boys trail ahead. Couldn't help but chuckle lightly. "Yes, very much shorter than yours. I know you like to play with mine...but it will grow back. I'll be same old me soon enough." Of course he was going to let it grow back out to it's original lengths. Nym seemed to be the one who was upset however at the moment as he was on Sevilin's shoulder and making a fuss. Eventually though they came to the banks. "Zykariel, come here." Thusly pulling that bag off his belt...the boy could probably deduce what or rather whom was inside. Distinct smell of ashes and old ebb of mixed magics from all parties that had been involved.

She turned her attention to soothing Nym, scooping him off Sevilin's shoulder and cuddling the ferret. "Just think, fuzzball, all that soft hair to make your bed with. I know he didn't do anything with it. And his hair grows fast and you'll be able to use his braid again in no time. I'll make sure of it, alright?" Nuzzling him like she always used to do before her nuzzles went to babies and kids and her husband instead.
He was a bit leery about that bag seeing as he had a pretty good idea of what it contained. Glancing at his mother for a moment, he stepped forward and waited, awkwardly shifting his weight. "Yeah?"

Holding it in the palm of one hand, he opened it with the other, indeed nothing but ashes in said bag, sitting harmlessly there. “You know what’s in here.” Resting his hand on his son’s shoulder and giving him a lopsided grin that he had seen since childhood. “This is everything I’ve ever been afraid of. And consequently everything you’ve been afraid regarding your family.” Thusly tipping the bag upside down, letting ashes dump into the air and water, letting both carry said things away. He was sure there was something poetic about how that river had washed away so many bad things before, but he didn’t think poetically often. “Now we both don’t have to be afraid of such things.”

There was something calming about that smile that he'd seen all his life. It was the sort of smile that told him everything was going to be alright and he didn't have to worry anymore. The sort of smile that came with cookies and milk and a bedtime story where he was snuggled up in strong arms and safe from all the monsters of the plane. Watching the ashes float away to meld into the natural world, he met his father's eyes and mirrored his grin. "I understand." And he did. Finally.
It was rather poetic, she thought, standing back and watching them. Sevilin had removed every trace of his sister right down to the hair she'd used against him. They'd once talked about how he'd never once cut his braid, aside from the basic trim so that his hair could continue growing. His sister had pulled on it, tugged him by it and used it against him every chance she got. Watching father and son bond over destruction, she found her eyes filling with tears. Her youngest tugging on her skirt got her attention and she picked him up and hugged him close, despite his upset over her tears. "They're happy tears. Daddy's free baby."

"Good because now..." Grabbing his son, he harmlessly stumbled him into the water so that he was still standing but from knees down, he was soaked. "You have water in your boots." Grinning in playful manner before giving a chuckle and a slightly innocent look to his son before a look to his wife and youngest...well, his youngest born that was. New chapter indeed, he could feel it. New perspective, no more worry, and a new child as well. Hm, feeling pleasant took a lot of energy...but for now he didn't mind.

He flailed at being off balance for a moment and then glanced down at himself and shook his head with a laugh. He certainly did have water in his boots. He knew better than to try to pull his father in because he weighed entirely too much. Leaning down, he cupped his palm and splashed a wave of water at the grinning elf.
Satisfied that his mother was alright, he squirmed to get down and go play with the other boys. "Mommy!" Huffing in frustration then walking over as he was set on the ground and giggling. "Kelli play too!" Splashing into the water, he slapped his hands against it and grinned. "Daddy's wet."
"Yes, he is. You wanna help me get him wetter?" The child nodded and gazed up at him happily and Zykariel chuckled then helped him splash water up at Sevilin.
Kelligrin had been watching more than they thought. He stepped out of the water and toddled behind his father, then put his hands on the backs of Sevilin's knees and pushed.
She barely managed to get his cape off his shoulders before he went scampering and she shook her head, watching the three of them. Untying her own, she dropped it on the ground and settled down for a relaxing afternoon. The metaphorical wind could take her worries and blow them all away.

A little frown when water hit him but he merely turned and gave a flick of his wrist, causing a little wave right back at his son. Of course that tactic was killed when Kelligrin wanted in on the fun but he was careful of the little one. Soon as the little one stepped out of the water though to presumably go to his mother, he got his son again with the same old tactic and was about to again...before sudden pressure on the back of his knees had them giving out on him and thusly stumbling forward and right into the water next to his son. A blink through dripping water. "I think Kelligrin just won." Turning a grin to his wife though. "Kelli! Mommy is dry! She's not having fun!"

He chortled and laughed when Kelligrin used that age old tactic that had aided him so wonderfully during fights when he was little. No dad could stand up against being knocked against the back of his knees. Even a little elf barely walking could bring a much larger elf down with that little trick. "Beat by a baby elf." He glanced towards his mother who was shaking her head and laughing. "He can't splash that far. I think you need to help him." Sharing that conspirator's grin.
"She's having a great time." She managed to catch the toddler as he flung his half wet body into her arms, minimizing the amount of water on her skirt. Giving him a hug, she tapped his nose. "Now I'm wet too. Go splash Daddy and Kariel."

"A smart baby elf, mind you." Running a hand back through his messy short hair to get some water out of it before his son seemed to think along the same lines. "I suppose even if he pushed me that I can help. Therefore it was time for runes again, bringing up what seemed to be a tentacle like stream of water from the river and making it snake over to his wife and above her head. Waiting until she had hold of Kel, he let his runic drop and thus the water came down on her like a little harmless waterfall. Another look to his son, "How's that for fancy?"

"I'm smarter." He couldn't help his need to compete. He was firstborn and he still wanted to be special. Although, his father's runic trick was not what he had in mind, he liked it nonetheless. "Quite fancy. But she's still not wet enough. She has to have water in her boots, too." Giving his mother a grin as she was shaking her head and he could just imagine what she wanted to mutter under her breath at that moment in time. Of course she wouldn't since Kelligrin was still with her.
Her son's laughter pealed at the sudden pouring of water and she glanced up into it and got a face full. Spluttering for a moment, she coughed and wiped her eyes then shot a look at her husband before she burst into laughter. Idiots, all of them.
Kelligrin danced about in the waterfall then went toddling back towards his father. "'Gain! 'Gain!"

"Only because you're older. But he does have a good throwing arm on him." Grinning though at his son once more and then nodding lightly, fingers moving in runic movements once more. "It's only fair because the rest of us have water in our boots." Thusly a rope rune on his wife and he gave a gentle tug, the motion pulling her by the wrist. After all he knew that he had to be gentle with her...especially since she was pregnant again. Though he did catch his other son in his free arm as he toddled back over, holding him above the water.

Kicking his little legs, he attempted to get down and play in the water but Daddy wasn't letting that happen. It didn't seem like he was letting the waterfall happen again either. Maybe he needed a reminder? " 'Gain!"
She had just settled back down on her mostly dry cape--since all the water had pretty much landed on her--when the familiar heat and tug of a rune alerted her moments before she was tugged to her feet. And then it was step by step forward towards the water. "Sevilin." Tugging back. "Don't." She tried for a stern tone much like she'd use when her little ones were disobeying but it came out more teasing than she intended.
