"Much as I figured I was paying penance I suppose." He didn't like to entertain thoughts that he'd rather not have and thusly he had merely chose a different line to think over. But it was wonderfully reassuring to hear her thoughts on that dreded manner, and knowing that he didn't have to worry that everytime he did something that caused issues, she'd threaten him with that. "I suppose it was best then that I didn't push on the matter then...sometimes it is better to wait patiently. But I think Zykariel needs to hear that more than I do...he's pushed you before remember? When he was still very small and he thought the same things...he doesn't mean to act out but he gets scared and doesn't want to lose what he worked so hard to get."

"No, it wasn't. I wish you would have because then it would have forced me to deal with it head on instead of the way that I did. I kept falling into states...where I'd have no idea what happened or where I even was. That's why your son was nearly trampled earlier. I forgot that he was on the horse." Shaking her head since she definitely wasn't proud of it. Frowning as the memory was brought back up, she nodded. "But then he wasn't nearly as strong and I could pick him up and cuddle him." Sometimes she missed that little boy so much it put a physical ache in her heart. "There's only one solution." Wrapping her arms around his neck and dropping nibbling kisses on his lips. "Aside from telling him that very thing, we just have to be as loving with each other as we were when we were newlyweds. Kiss and touch and laugh and be with each other in front of him and it probably wouldn't hurt Kelligrin to see it either."

"Got a nose bleed from that one earlier." Though he wasn't happy hearing how she'd been dealing with things on her own terms and all together with the rest of the family as well, but right now was a time that they needed to not focus on such things. A blink though as she presented a solution and he couldn't help but smile and nuzzle back at her. "I think that will do everyone some good. We don't need one son questioning if you love me while another questions if I love him." Shaking his head lightly before giving her a little grin. "Just...be gentle with me. I'm still hurting some."

She winced, reminded of both of her sins in short order: refusing to heal Sevilin had brought on his reduced energy and not paying attention so that her son was nearly trampled which had set off the rune that affected her husband. "Neither son needs to question love in any manner when it comes to you, me, or them. I will not have that." She couldn't help but give him a wry little grin at his joke and nuzzled him. "You're the adventurous one, teaching me new things all the time." But frowning, she rubbed his shoulders again. "I can help you out with that you know."

His own grin widened a bit in lopsided fashion as she grinned back with his little attempt at humor that was also absolute truth. "New things to you, old things to me. But I do like the twists you happen to make me take and thus make it all new as well for me too." Chucking her under the chin lightly as she frowned again however. "I know, and I'm sure sooner or later that you're going to make sure to take care of it. I'll just be happy to feel my legs when I walk."

She did that very night, rubbing him down until he was so content and relaxed that he could hardly lift a muscle. She eased his pain the old fashioned way and then set her plan into motion the very next day. It was a long, involved family discussion but both boys seemed to get the gist of it and she and Sevilin spent three magical weeks proving their love to each other in various ways--both unconventional and conventional--and to the children.
They made love nearly every night, focusing on each other and ripening their own love until it beat strong and steady like a pulse in the house. The boys were taken on fishing trips with dad and horseback rides with mom and family picnics. There were tickle sessions and talking sessions and she felt like they were closer than they'd ever been before. Her only wish through the whole period was that her girls had been there to share in it all. But she'd promised herself that there would be plenty for them to witness when they returned because she didn't intend to drop this and neither, it seemed, did Sevilin.
She'd noticed the changes almost instantly. He was much more responsive when it came to the physical act, even initiating it himself which he'd never really done before. She felt like she'd just been married all over again when he'd randomly pick her up and cart her off and who knew where they'd end up. Sometimes they just laid there and talked about each other, life, and the kids. Other times he let his body do the talking and she swore she glowed afterwards. He was open and she was willing and things just flowed in a whole new way between them. It was...amazing.
It was such a time right now and she sighed softly, lying next to her husband, her body still warm from his mouth and hands and all the ways he'd told her he loved her. Curling closer into the warmth of his body, she nuzzled his throat and pressed a kiss there, musingly. He was different for sure. He was far more playful, both with her and the boys. Joking and laughing as if those chains really had been cast aside and he had nothing more to worry about. His mood didn't really drop into those dark places any longer and she sensed the soothing balm of time finally healing the wounds into nothing more than scars on his soul. Those would never be fully soothed away but neither would they be able to hurt him any longer. He was free. Retouching her lips to that spot, she smiled softly. "I have a secret to tell you..."

While some things were different almost immediately, some things remained ever the same...but at the same time they had changed as well. His need to clean for instance and have everything around him spotless...he still cleaned, no one was going to take that from him but now it seemed less...obsessive. Less essential to his survival on a day to day basis. Crumbs on the floor couldn't be overlooked that moment they were spotted but now known crumbs were left for a time where he wasn't busy with a son or his wife and he didn't look over at such things, and his fingers didn't twitch to get at them. When he did get to them, they were cleaned and scrubbed with avengence. Deep cleaning was still his mottto. It was just less important in the priority list. Indeed he would admit that he felt...calmer he supposed one could call it.
He languidly had an arm around her, letting his fingers play with the short ends of her hair and at times the longer portion that was braided. Always did like playing was her hair. An inquiring noise at her voice though and he pulled back from her just enough to look down at her with a lazy lopsided grin. Mellow indeed he was...though at the same time there were still somethings that felt unfinished to him and now that things were getting better, he was making plans to tie up all the lose ends so to speak. He was just debating whether he should do it alone. "What would that be?"

He'd never been one to play guessing games and that hadn't changed a bit but she couldn't resist drawing this out. "I'm surprised you don't know already." Teasing him with a few more nibbling kisses. "Have you noticed anything...different about me?" Like the fact her breasts were super sensitive. Or the way she was randomly switching moods now? Or how much she'd wanted sex lately? Then again, that had been going on for a while now so maybe that wasn't too much of a change at all. Thankfully she hadn't felt the need for her special tea which was especially good since Sevilin's eating habits had changed. She hadn't had to remind him to eat nearly as often in the last three weeks. In fact, he seemed to almost relish the times that his stomach insisted he be fed and then he actually ate. Not just wolfed down the food like it didn't matter but ate to taste and enjoy. It was more than she'd ever wished for. "Close your eyes and focus really hard. Then see if you can't tell me." Would he sense it? Was it too early? No, he was a rune mage. He should be able to feel it after one close inspection of her body.

An intrigued look at her then as apparently he should probably already know these things. Then again he was famous for being oblivious to some things that others saw easily. Another blink as she insinuated that she was different in some way and he took a moment to make a slow persual of her with his eyes. "Like...how you've been extra attentive to your cooking lately?" Questions like that could come back to bite you and that's the last thing that he wanted. Apparntly though that wasn't the answer as she urged him to try harder at discovering something that was still unknown to him. Well it was about her, he had that much to go on. But he did as she asked, closing his eyes and a certain seriousness crossing his features in concentration...and of course employeeing runes, even if he didn't know he was. They were so second nature to him that half the time he didn't notice. But as always they told him all the things he needed to know and he blinked open his eyes a few times, almost in disbelief. "You're...?" He was honestly still dumbfounded. She couldn't be really pregnant could she? She was so careful with things and last time they talked...well Kelligrin was still to young to think about another one. "How long?" Was this good or bad?

"I have, yes. But there's a reason for that." He was referring to her careful rationing of vegetables and portions on her plate which was because of the baby. She'd learned exactly how much of everything those little fetuses needed and ensured they got what they were supposed to. She watched him draw connections and knew the moment it had clicked. Waiting to see how he'd feel about it, she let his initial surprise fade and then tried not to look too deeply into the question. "Yes, I am. About a month." Which traced it to the night he'd thought might be his last. Putting her emotions into some kind of physical movement, she tugged her lower lip into her mouth. "Thoughts?"

Well she didn't seem too upset about it despite the closeness between her pregnancies...it had only been about a year and a half since then. He supposed if she wasn't upset then there was really no need to worry. The lip thing she was doing because of him and he knew it at least. "Little surprised seeing as we just had one, but honestly I think it's wonderful. Are you sure you're okay with it though?" She was the one who had to be pregnant after all.

"Actually, Mr. Inthara, I think you have some explaining to do." Quirking an eyebrow at him and poking him in the chest. "I drugged you just like always. You threw your food away when I wasn't looking, didn't you?" She'd already surmised as much but since he knew he'd be meeting his sister in the morning...it made sense. She wouldn't have been able to eat either. He must have used runes or gotten much sneakier in his old age though; she hadn't suspected a thing. Lapsing into contemplative silence, she rested her head against his chest and breathed in his scent. "I'm very glad. If I hadn't had you any longer, at least I would have had your last present to me. Of course I'm much happier you're going to be around to enjoy it with me."

She gave her that lopsided grin of his again. "Actually at that point...I hadn't eaten for three days." Tensing for the little retalatory hit he knew he was going to get before she settled again. "Guess such things never crossed my mind." Shrugging lightly but glad that she was going to be okay with this...well, time to break out the baby stuff earlier than usual." But a kiss pressed to her hair with a light chuckle. "You just want me around so you can pass it off when you need time for you and only you." Nuzzling her hair. "Good old time, hm?" Well...this had made the decision for him didn't it. "Remember how you're do damned about doing things with me that you think are important? Well, I have something to do, and I want you to come with me. No worries...it's nothing dangerous. Involves a long walk even, take the kids with us." Zykariel probably needed it too.

Mouth agape, she reacted true to form, slapping at his chest. How many times had she told him how potent he was? He wasn't drugged and presto! she was puffy. "You have to be good for something besides sating my sexual appetite." Nuzzling him, rather happy that she could play and joke around about such things now. She wrinkled her nose at his description of her belief that she should share in the important things in his life and merely nodded. "I'd love to. Shall we get the children up and dressed then?"

"Sounds like a plan to me...unless you're going to retain me further to sate your sexual appetite as you like to put it." Now he was indeed just messing with her because he could do so. And hey it felt good to laugh. Poking her in the nose though as she had wrinkled it. "Promise to try and not get upset if you think you have reason to be inclined to?"
