That ghey boss with the bombs, was meant to be invincable and renew s**t.
You are supposed to go to the bottom right to the Phon Coast and talk to some Moogle guy, gathering his apprentices to open up the gate.

Nah. The good old days was 'find a boss and kill it'. The cinematic days were 'once or twice during a game there's a boss that is unkillable, but you get a cutscene when you lose that proves you were supposed to'.
Now it's just 'the boss is unkillable, and you need to just avoid it'.

We're talking about FF12.
I dunno, but I figured it out when I did a 13 hit quickening combo and hit it with two summons and it just "renewed".
Then I ran around it to see if I could merely run past the thing, but realized it had collapsed the entrance to the other side, meaning my path towards Ascade would still be blocked if I beat the thing.
It was my crazy a** friend that suggested going the wrong damn way, and he was right. Have to go down to go up.
That boss annoyed the s**t out of me though.
