As they made their way back into the Order, Sil had steeled herself for the great theatrics the two of them were about to put on. Luckily she was the only one aware that money had disappeared from her pockets, and before Liv could be suspicious of the collar she had bought for Ano and put two and two together, she tucked it in the back waistband of her trousers. If she moved too rapidly the little bell would jingle, so she tried to keep her gait slow and even as she held the kitten.
Luci put on an impressive display of waterworks, the girl obviously skilled at toying with emotions even at such a young age. It took all of Sil's will power not to burst out into laughter at the sight of it, her mouth pressed into a tight line to stop the corners of her lips from flicking up in amusement. The last thing she needed was to look amused by a poor kittens distress.
"This must be Romeo," Sil said, smiling apologetically as she held up the disheveled kitten. The blue eyed creature gazed at Liv and let out a soft mewl, its little ears twitching gently as he gazed at her. "Luci and I happened upon him in town today... I think she got a little too attached to the poor thing..." She managed a look of forlorn, gazing down at the dirty kitten with a thoughtful frown. "I'm afraid Ano will be jealous of a younger kitten... but we couldn't just leave him."

Liv looked at the forlorn kitten and immediately her heart melted, "Oh goodness...that's terrible."
"He loves me, he wouldn't stop following me!" Luci whined and made a pathetic noise, sounding sorry for the kitten, "I couldn't leave him out there....can we keep him..? Please Mommy?"
Liv looked from Luci, to the kitten, to Sil, and back to Luci. She sighed, "Luci...taking care of a kitten is a big responsibility. You know that, don't you? I know you miss Isabel, and I'm sorry that she couldn't come with you...but you don't have anyone here to take care of the kitten for you like you did before. You'll have to take care of him all by yourself, can you do that?"
Luci thought about it long and hard, pretending like it was a tough decision to make, taking on the responsibility. She finally gave a resolute nod, "Yes Mommy. I understand and I know I can do it!"
Liv looked hard at her daughter with pursed lips before finally giving in with another small sigh, "....Alright then. You can keep him," she squeezed Luci a little and then added sternly, "But if you can't take care of him then he has to move in with Sil. Okay?"
Luci nodded and grinned, throwing her arms around Liv's neck, "Thank you thank you thank you!" she wiggled and wriggled from Liv's hold, rushing to Sil to make grabby hands at Romeo. With her back turned to Liv she gave Sil a knowing grin.

"If you're sure, Liv..." Sil said slowly, really emphasizing the idea that she didn't want Liv to feel put out by the kitten, that she had every intention of making her own cat uncomfortable and... Luckily Liv caved easily, and as soon as Luci held her hands out for the kitten she handed the little creature over to her. "I know you'll be a good kitty-mommy Luci. You take very good care of Romeo," she gave the child a little knowing wink. "If you need any help you can ask me, okay?"
With their plan complete and Liv done with her afternoon, Sil decided to take her leave, giving the child and the kitten a tight hug. "I had fun with you today Luci. Hopefully we can play again soon," she placed a soft kiss on the top of her curls.

"If I need help I'll come straight to you!" Luci nodded as she took Romeo into her arms, not caring about getting dirt on her dress.
She smiled and closed her eyes at the kiss to the top of her head, "Thank you Miss Sil. I had fun today too. I can't wait to play again," she replied with sincerity.
Liv watched and smiled, glad that Luci and Sil were getting along so famously. She would certainly need Sil to look after Luci when she went to see Kiah's father in the upcoming weeks, "Thank you for taking care of her today. I really appreciate it."

Sil gave Liv an honest smile as she was thanked, wondering if Liv would have felt that way had she been around for her babysitting debacle. "She was wonderful, I'll watch her any time you like. Next time I promise we won't come home with a kitten," she moved over and gave Liv a hug as well before making her departure.
