It's probably a good thing that the laptop was just borrowed by your brother and not lost altogether wink (hoping of course that you can eventually pry it out of his grasp)

Oh yeah! I managed to finish the airship trip with Carl. Now I have the items I want. Louie cape and Carl antlers. smile I might try with Edmund if I have the time. I don't think Carl was that much harder than Louie, but you just have to remember not to hunt those grey elks.

I am still struggling with the others. I have no chance of completing carl.

I went ahead and did one more run this time with Edmund. It was soooo much easier than Louie or Carl. With Carl I would always get random events that took away all my ammo.

@ Camwen: Thanks for saving me.

I had a real blast at the Fan Expo. DJ Helsing was there to give us the good news and the bad news. The bad news... the Sunday Feedback session was cut short by an hour (instead of 3-5pm, it was 3-4pm) due to conflict of interests (comic fans are waiting outside during our session). Other than that, it was a fun short hour we had. DJ Helsing told everyone to brainstorm in groups (which we all have the "huh?" look on our faces) and reminded us that Gaia is about social networking. So after the brainstorming session, everyone has a lot of wonderful ideas especially the girl who sat in front of me. Everything went well until his tape recorder stopped recording. gonk He mentioned something about the batteries before recapping and rerecording the ideas. When it comes to Gaia games, everyone shouted all at once: DDR!!! Again, more game ideas continued until a lot of hands were raised and DJ said, "I haven't finished talking to this side of the room." That's when the hands shifted to pointed fingers at the tape recorder (apparently it stopped again). gonk So here he is checking his equipment before moving along. So at the end of the session, he told everyone to help themselves with the stickers, cards, pens, etc. on the table while he was packing his equipments. Again, a couple more people gave him more ideas while the comic fans started to enter the room. By the time he got to the table (where the cards and stickers are), they were in a mess. So I came and helped him out with the cards. If it was on Gaia, DJ Helsing's avatar would have done a pirouette after the Gaian stampede. Anyway, I told him my idea (probably a lame one too - it's an AI which an avi's hair can grow, falls off and regrows again). So when I regrouped with my brothers, one of them asked if he gave me a prize for helping him out. I told them, "Nah, it's the thought that counts (just like Camwen said in the earlier post)". Later, I scribbled a website address on the piece of paper and that was when my brother asked me where did I get this pen. (Earlier that day, just before buying tickets, we had to fill this registration card but there's one problem: there are no pens!!! Even one fan told the security guard to get some pens. My brothers didn't bother write the cards and left them alone and began waiting in line (for approx. 30 mins before reaching the ticket booth). One of my favourite sites: a Bobo Fett Blister Package for you to go inside with Bobo Fett helmet while people taking snapshots of you. If my older brother was there, he would have that "plastered" look. Coming back from convention by subway and bus is a challenge for me. My brothers didn't bring a bag and they bought 2 comic books that has an autograph/drawing done by a Toy Story artist. Problem: where to put these books without destroying them? The only thing I have on my hand was the flimsy program book. So I told my brother to slide those 2 books (CDN$50 per book) at the center of the program book. Next I used napkins to hold the program book. So far, the books were in one piece... that is until we rode by bus. When the bus started, I lost my balance and the program book was slammed against the wall causing it to bend. gonk By the time we got off the bus, I checked the books... they are still in one piece. *whew* Anyway, I got to go now, I'm tired and I have a middle shift tomorrow. Later. biggrin

Whew! That was quite the paragraph! 4laugh
Very interesting stuff though - thanks for sharing what went on at the Expo.

I wonder when we'll be able to use these wing stickers....
PostPosted: Thu Sep 02, 2010 4:30 pm

I hope the stickers are not quite something that to get one item, you have to use them all. Since then if there are multiple items, some low sticker items will end up priced at millions of gold as everyone goes for the top tier.

Wohoo, I managed to get all 5 event items. After finishing wit Carl and Louie, the thing really got boring but since I didn't have any better to do, I decided to get all of them.

Heres few tips to whom ever is still trying to get the items, some of these are the same as Camwen mentioned earlier:
1. Buy ammo with your entire available loot, don't waste it on food. You'll get enough loot from the trip.
2. Hunt for the food but if you are playing with Carl, don't hunt those grey elks/deers
3. Take the desert but skip the volcano fields
4. Take the fast/average ship. The cargo hold is big enough even in the fast ship if you just have lots of ammo. I preferred the fast ship so it wouldn't take so long time to finish it.
5. With Carl in his crazy multiple choice situations, take the passive and hiding options. Trust me, the elk is mental so there's no need to make him more crazy.
6. Get rid of at least two crew members. First should be gone before going to desert. Trust me, it's easier and you won't need all of them.
7. Have a cup of coffee. Really, the game gets utterly boring after the few tries.

@Camwen and Exxos: I hope that it'll be one single item, but I think that it'll be few items. I just hope you'll get to use them at something. I have some past event items in my inventory because you didn't need all of them.

Congrats Lily on your five items. I have not started on the 2nd quest as things got a little hairier irl. Tiger is getting a skin reaction from his cream medication. My little brother (pharm tech) said it might be the latex finger cot he was using or it might be the cream. He's trying to eliminate the problem before Tiger's thyroid panel test. Harmony is barking as usual but not as much when she goes outdoors and socialize with her new friend named Ruby. Melody is stressed out and does her business outside the litter and that was because Harmony does not like the sound of the dropping hitting the litterbox. So she decided to bark at her for making all that racket. She doesn't bark at Tiger when he did his business. Got to go now. Cleaning up Melody. xp

I checked out those new AIs and I noticed that the Twinkling Prism Charm does not work very well on backgrounds.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 08, 2010 10:15 pm

Actually, I checked again (this time kneeling). The Twinkling Prism Charm does animate but it settled BEHIND the full background. I wonder if it's a glitch or a problem with the layering.
