((I was making cream of wheat from the package and my tummy was like... EAT THAT PIE RIGHT NOW OR I WILL END YOU PUNY MORTAL. :c ))
It was certainly not a sight she expected to see that day, Liv's daughter curled on the floor crying over a kitten that she presumed was in love with her all of the sudden. Sil knew she shouldn't do what she was thinking of doing, but all rational went out of the window when children started to cry. She wasn't a mother herself and she had never really learned how to handle it properly.
Her cheeks grew with color, imagining that the shop keeper probably thought she was the worst mother in the world letting her child cry on the floor and then rewarding the behavior. As he told them to just take the kitten and go, Sil gently grabbed Luci by the arm and tugged her to her feet. "Come on, Luci. Don't drop the kitten," she told her over her crying, and on their way out of the door she dug into her pocket and left twelve pounds on the counter despite his insistence they take the cat and go, grabbing a silvery collar for her own cat to take back home.
Once they were outside she paused, making sure the girl had stopped her crying and was still holding the dear little creature that was sitting so calmly before. As she looked down into two sets of blue eyes Sil ghosted a hand over her face. "Aw geeze... Your mom is going to kill me, kiddo. This is exactly what I was trying to avoid."

Luci wasn't really aware of what had happened until they were out of the store. She had been dragged out with her still teary eyes, clutching the kitten tightly. She followed Sil to the bench, her crying ceased finally. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hand and sniffled, "But he's mine now?" she grinned and let out soft laugh. She threw her free arm around Sil in a hug, making sure not to crush the kitten between them, "Thank you miss Sil!"
She pulled back and held the kitten up to her face, touching noses with it, pausing at Sil's worry, "....Mommy will understand.." she replied, though she was sure Liv would be shocked in the very least, if not angry...
"She won't be mad when she sees kitty's face," Luci smiled.

Sil let out a long, defeated sigh that ruffled her fringe thinking Luci was seeing this situation from rose tinted glasses. Of course she would be considering she had gotten a free kitten out of the deal, and even if Sil hadn't gotten her a kitten today she would have talked to Liv about getting her one anyway. Nothing quite eased a sad and lonely soul like a pet, and Luci was still adjusting to her new surroundings. A fuzzy little friend who loved her unconditionally could only help in her own opinion.
"I intend to make sure Mommy can't say no to that face," Sil muttered with determination, already formulating a plan that would ensure that there was no possible way Liv could deny such an adorable little creature. She put her hands on Luci's shoulder, deciding a little too late to be more stern towards the situation. "But if Mommy does say no, the kitten will have to come live with me, okay? I know that's not what you want, but then you can still see the kitten whenever you like. We have to do what your Mom says."

Luci looked up at Sil a little sadly, but she understood and nodded, "I know Miss Sil..." she looked around and then back to Sil, "What do we do now..?" she held the kitten close as it was finally starting to squirm around, all the new sensory input from the fresh air outside getting it riled up.

"Well..." Sil sighed, gently ruffling a hand through Luci's hair trying to smooth away that sad little expression, her voice notably soft. "We'll just have to take him home now. Let me carry him for a little bit so he doesn't squirm too much, okay? I have a plan on how we're going to convince Mommy to let you keep the kitten..." She held her hand out for the little creature, and once she had it in her grasp she stroked the tiny animal gently to sooth it, offering one of her hands to Luci so they could continue their walk back to the Order. "While we're walking you should think about what you want to name the kitten," she suggested, knowing that if the cat had a name already it would be twice as hard for Liv to deny it.
