Hiko crossed his arms over his chest and frowned.
"And what do you want me to do about it? You made it. And I've aleady trained an apprentice. You want the job, you have to hunt down and kill him for it."

Vera put her hand on Iria's shoulder again. "Well, my dear, I certainly consider you to be family." She smiled at the other woman.

"The moment you revealed yourself as a Jedi I was given the right to demand things from you," Journeyman responded. "As for disrespect. I acted in kind. I showed you nothing but respect when you arrived in the cave. You acted like you owned me."

"You get pleasure from calling yourself a Jedi. The title gives you a sense of importance. It makes you feel like you have the right to be better than me, to order me around and test me. If you want that right then take the responsibility."

"It has already been determined i am not a full Jedi. The question is whether or not you can claim you are a Master Jedi."

"My lightsaber was built to be a Jedi tool. Can you defend this colony with a blunt blade? Even if you could, woudn't you prefer a sharper one?"

The lightsaber ignited and he waved it for a moment. Then he shut it down and looked back up.

"The fact I have constructed a "sharp blade" only shows one thing. To draw any other conclussion is only looking for a reason to avoid your duties Master Jedi. I made a strong lightsaber to reclaim what I have lost and defend the Galaxy from the tyranny I have played a hand in.

"A Lightsaber is not a tool. That is the second thing that you failed. The lightsaber you craft relects yourself, your ideals, your skill. To call it a tool establishes your self as someone else's tool and nothing more. For a peacekeeper to forge for himself a deadlier weapon means he has intention to solve his problems with violence. That goes against the Order."
The Master patted the sword at his belt.
"I do not need a sharp blade to defend this colony. I do not even need a blade at all. And if you doubt my words, then come at me and deny my existance with your sharp lightblade. Do it quickly, before the tyranny you seek to bring down finishes deploying their troops from the Star Destroyer that followed you here."

Time seemed to pass slowly in the Dominion, excluded from the affairs of the galaxy around it. Vaan was in a rather compromising position at the moment. The Queen Mother decided it was no longer worth it to keep the worlds of the Dominion, and was in the process of dissolving the sovereignty of the states. To Vaan, it was either to force a compromise through military might (which was rather uneven, Vaan's forces on loan from Kenet) or to accept defeat.

Now, the sticky part of the situation was that Ashe had recieved word of two things. The first, was that Seifer had escaped from Chiss custody. The second was that there was an assassination plot against the Queen Mother, which would undoubtedly be pinned on Vaan.

And it was thus that sent Kev'aa'nuruodo and his companion, Lady Ashe to Hapes, in an attempt to stop the assassination.

It has been documented that before leaving for this mission, Kev'aa'nuruodo was beginning to suffer severe stress, and his laid back attitude as a Commander was slowly diminishing. An unnamed officer has said that Vaan once told him that it felt like "the demons and angels were raging inside him."

Iria allowed herself to puzzle over what Vera meant. "It's not your fault," she told Vera. "It's all just so much to take in right now." With that, she took another sip of her tea. "We should probably retire for this night, as it's getting late,"

Vera looked slightly disappointed, but conceeded. "You're right. I have a lot of work ahead of me, myself. And it has also been a rather long and tiring day." She flashed a warm smile at Iria, and a slightly colder smile at Gunther.
