Sibyl wasn't exactly used to dancing. She wiggled, she swayed, she grooved, but she'd never actually.. danced. Not an actual dance. Not at an event. So what did Sibyl do? She improvised like a boss. She'd done enough studying while waiting for Aymet to arrive. Sibyl felt she'd learned all she needed to learn.

Mjoll looked towards the table. There was something about tiny sandwiches.... however before he finished and before he actually walked off he pinched her butt.
He was lucky he walked off for the moment but that gave her time to think. Which as she strode up to him. She aimed a hard punch towards his shoulder. "Do. Not. Pinch. My. Bum. Again." She warned him, crossing her arms. The nerve, not to mention he had walked off and left her standing there.
Maybe she should just walk off and leave him. The rudeness of it all, she didn't care if someone did say swing. Which that someone she was currently ignoring over the favor of manners.

Zar did indeed fall heavily onto his elbows with a very irritable sound of protest, wincing as his jaw hit the floor. He had about had it, and immediately started to flail his hooves hard as he possibly could to try and wriggle free, and hopefully clock Nuru one to make him let go in the process.
"Un-hand me!"

With so much excitement going on, Tess hoped Sheridan would excuse her sudden need to get food and drinks. "Can we take a break by the refreshments?" she asked, looking up at the boil with what was her best attempt at doe-eyes.

Hel blinked as another reaper ended up sliding into their conversation, and luckily she wasn’t offended by it. “ Oh…! Hello there, friend.” She greeted Enzo with a dip of her head after sending Shun bro-looks. “ Ah, ya!” She gestured at Amarus. “ She happened to mention it!” Hmm…this boil seemed very friendly with her…did he know her? Hmmm… Amarus was indeed a reaper magnet.

The look Shun gave back was like... And then like... This reaper's face was not expressive.

Amrita's mind was spinning.
She began to question her own memories. She had seen the mindflayer contort and twist, lose herself and vanish; had seen the statue, the way the Boogeymen reacted and took her away...or did she? She remembered the physical pain that came with fighting back, the stress of breaking the news to Christof, the hurt that followed when he essentially called her a liar. The trip to Lizzy's to cry it out, the subsequent steps she had taken to get better. Was all that real? It felt real...but if the memories of Riley's loss were faked, then they had to be too. They still just...felt so real.
Her shoulders tensed under Malodore's hand, her head shaking a silent no, the movement so slight it could have easily been passed over. This creature was Riley, she knew it was Riley. But...there was something off, too. The way Riley always brushed her with fond gestures was missing. Sure this Riley had her arms open for a hug, but...there was distance. Too much distance. She shook her head again.
The painfully familiar voice in her head was trying to reassure her, she knew that much, but it wasn't enough to pull her out of her shock. The open-armed invitation was met with a wall, the patchwork drawing her arms tighter against her torso as she took a half step back. "I'msorry." She managed to get out, her voice trembling. The more she questioned herself the more anxious she became, which never boded well in the past.
"I-I can't. I...I j-j..." She even pulled her arm free of Christof's as if physically shocked, still trying to wrap her head around her suddenly very upside down world.

Their return from the photobooth area was met with a crashing chandelier, which kicked Tro's instinct into immediate action. He firmly but gently pushed Lattice back, positioning himself between what he thought was immediate danger and his date. He would have done the same for Needle and Ulmuka except the other pair's reaction was... different from his. Well, as long as they were alright, he wasn't one to judge.
"Y' okay?" Petro asked, turning to look at Lattice to see how she fared. Only to realize he'd accidentally impaled his arm on some of her spikes. Tro did not move.

The effort worked and there was a loud crack followed by a yelp. Nuru immediately covered his face and bolted off to hide under the buffet table. Not even bothering to give pause so Zar could see the hurt look his eyes, it didn't matter now.
Now nothing more than a soot-covered hand would expose itself to steal foods off the buffet. Foods being used to drown the owner's pain and sorrows.

It was okay, Shun. Hel understood. She knew you weren't a very open person.

Christof gave a whine, lips pursing as he glanced to malodore, to Riley and then to Amrita beside him. Hesitantly, he leaned in to give the patchwork girl a gentle kiss to the cheek. "There-have-been-developments," He signed, for what good it would do. Judging by the poor girl's expression, she wasn't in much of a state of mind to decipher sign-language. He shifted back, Mistress, please be gentle with Miss Rita, she loved you dearly, as we all did. This is a shock to her. That thought offered, he held out the rope to Malodore before pointing up to the cat-walk to illustrate where he would be going. They had to relace the pulley, then it would be easy. "Only-gone-a-moment," He signed for the plague doctor, face still wrought with concern.

Perhaps if the ghoul had been warned, she would have had the time to accept what had happened. Riley understood that some wounds were clearly still too fresh, in her eyes. So her arms dropped down, and she nodded softly.
Don't be. She whispered, exhaustion filling her voice. I understand.
Her presence was disturbing the ghoul. Another came over, took one look at her, and ran. Riley felt the beginnings of a very distressful pain in her chest, and her brow furrowed.
I think it's time to take you up on that offer, Malodore. She murmured, the displeasure in her voice evident. She moved to Jericho, and set her head on his chest, giving him one quick hug. Then she pulled away, and her eyes remained dark with disappointment as she took Malodore's hand.
Lead the way.

Zar once again got to his hooves and once again rearranged his clothing.
There. No one saw that. He had been perfectly civil the entire time.
"I'm going to have to do a very stern review of this boilfriend business.." he stated coldly to no-one, Nuru having scooted off already like a wounded animal.
He'd probably feel bad later. Probably. But for now he was going to resume his already wholly awful night.

"Amrita," Malodore repeated, its unbeating heart breaking a little. Its empathy could feel her confusion, her self-doubt, her confidence shattering- "Amrita, the Bogeymen, the ones that took Riley away? They... they brought her back, but her memory is a bit... a bit damaged. Like made-undead and made-ghosts... I am so sorry..." Its voice trailed off as Riley took its hand, expressing her desire to leave. "I'll... leave you to... we can speak, later, perhaps," it said, quietly, voice low. It didn't want to leave; vanishing set it ill at ease, but perhaps Amrita would be more able to absorb what it had told her without them present. In a silent moment... Its hands flickered for a moment, back at Christof. Take-care-of-her- And then it slowly backed away, head bowed. Mi dispiace, mia cara...

On the bright side, Hel appeared to find something Amarus said funny. And amarus would take what she could get, honestly. "I enjoy this notion, Hel--"
Amarus had no idea who it was that commented as he passed by, but she was excited to hear that Hel was capable, instead of just posturing as a warrior. "Hear that, Hel? I see you are a worthy opponent, if ... even strangers can say that of you." She peeked by at the fairly neutral-toned boil to say: "Thank you for your input?" before returning to the conversation at hand. "Long, nimble fingers... I had not noticed this. Is that true?" Amarus tilted her head, bells chiming.
Amarus was doing pretty well. She was even trying to be friendly, and not defective. And then suddenly: an arm around her shoulders. "Um... yes, I believe I may have. Swing dancing? Why? ... "
Amarus looked at Hel. "Hand-shaking is a greeting.. is this a greeting as well, Hel?" she asked, mildly confused, but calm. Strange. She was not used to anyone approaching her so casually, especially when her aura looked like thin, low-burning pink/purple flames. A natural deterrant. Amarus looked at the Reaper with her calm, silver eyes. "Why, do you enjoy it as well?"
"Thank you for not pinching my a**, in that case," Amarus told the Reaper who was now being addressed by an angry ghoul. "What, do you not like swing?" Amarus asked her. ... And then a pause, because she seemed really upset: "...want a cup of punch?"
HEY, SHUN, AMARUS UNDERSTOOD your empty expression. She was also kind of inexpressive.
