Magnus had been walking through the park as he sometimes did. He wasn't looking for anything in particular; it was a nice day outside and he liked the fresh air. He hadn't made too many friends at the DWMA since he didn't have a lot in common with many of them. Most of his life had been an isolated one. Still, he was determined to enjoy his time here and make the most of it. Death Park was very lovely and often reminded him of the gardens at home. He would often walk through them as well. He stopped when he felt a familiar wavelength. He hadn't felt it in a while but it was hard to forget. He turned to see Lady Death herself sitting on the ground. She was looking towards the city and it looked as if she were painting. He never knew she was good at art though it wasn't too surprising to him. It was quite possible that she had had a similar upbringing to his. She too was basically modern royalty and was being trained to fill a very important position. In fact, it was highly likely that they would be working together at some point as adults since his father was a big contributor to the DWMA. And that was a role that he would someday fill. He was curious to know more about her and not just for that reason. He walked up slowly to her, not wanting to surprise her or throw off her work. "Lady Death," he greeted warmly, walking up next to her. He stayed a respectful distance away; about 2 yards. He had been taught not to quickly approach women by surprise. Or to make them feel as though they could not get up and leave at will. "Magnus Maxwell. I believe we met before at the Halloween event? It was quite a while ago so it's perfectly fine if you don't remember. Do you come here often?" He asked curiously.

"I see," he replied with a smile. "I've been quite alright. How about yourself? It's good to see you out and about again. It was.....interesting to see The Machinists again. I only remember them from when I was very little. In my young mind I remember thinking that Saint Clara was very charming. She didn't pay much attention to me but when she did she was quite nice. I had many mixed emotions going back. In fact -" he stopped suddenly, blinking as he realized how much he was suddenly sharing. He hadn't realized how much he had wanted to talk about what had happened with someone, though he hadn't had anyone to talk to. "I'm sorry," he said, giving Shira an embarrassed smile. "I was rambling wasn't I?"

Magnus smiled. "It's better to know the truth," he replied. He gave her a smile and shrugged. "I agree. The loss of so many people was a great tragedy. But I suppose with a leader like Saint Clara, disaster was inevitable. He paused for a moment, realizing he hadn't seen her fiance in a while. "How are you and Atticus?" he asked curiously.

Magnus's eyes widened as he heard Shira's response. He could see through her smile and laugh. "Oh....I...I'm so sorry. I had no idea," he replied, feeling terrible for having brought it up. "I just thought since....he was there..." Magnus tried to explain. No idiot! Just change topic! The voice inside his head was yelling. "What have you been up to recently?" He asked. "Any interesting missions or such?"

Magnus nodded, returning Shira's smile. "That sounds nice, though I can understand how it feels to live in a place too big for the amount of people in it." That was certainly the truth. The mansion he had lived in was probably one of the loneliest places on Earth. Not because there weren't a lot of people in it but because it was so big that there simply wasn't enough. And the ones that were weren't exactly the supportive type. Magnus shook his head slightly as he thought on those memories. Not ones he wished to recall; in fact he had come here to try to get away from those. "Fortunately you do have the DWMA and many friends to have fun with it." He looked over at her painting. It was coming along quite nicely. In time she might be good enough to put her artwork for sale. "What kind of things do you usually paint?" He asked curiously, wondering if this was her usual style or if she was trying something new.

Magnus nodded as he heard her. "That's interesting," he told her genuinely. "I admit I can't draw or paint very well at all. I'm more of the writing type honestly. Though..." he paused for a moment. "Have you ever drawn a picture of your grandfather?" he asked, wondering what that would look like. He had seen The Grim Reaper before, but he'd never seen any paintings or drawings of him. He didn't seem very photogenic. Speaking of which...Magnus cocked his head to the side slightly. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your grandfather like with you? Is he good with small children? I've never had the chance to talk to him individually." He had always considered him kind of spooky, even with the "kid friendly" appearance.

Magnus blushed and looked away quickly, scratching the back of his head. "Uh, you know...fiction and things like that. Nothing big." He looked back at her quickly. "But it's nothing on the level of your painting. I can see how your grandfather would be easy to draw though. He has certainly gone out of his way to appear less menacing." He smiled to himself as he looked towards the castle. "It must be nice being able to live right here with your family and help them in what they do," he told her quietly.

Magnus nodded. "I know how that is," he replied to her first statement. He seemed caught off-guard by Shira returning to his writing. "Umm....you know," he began. "If I'm inspired by something I see or hear or read I'll sometimes write a....you know...sorry about it or somesuch. It can be almost whatever. Like, er...I might meet you and write about a girl who lived in a castle and liked painting and just go from there. Err..wait! I mean just as an example!" He added quickly, sounding somewhat flustered. "And I would perhaps add on from there to create a story based around that."
