"I'm quite sure that I will," Jacen replied with a grin. He could only imagine what to expect from Penance. But, almost instantly, the waitress was asking Jacen what he was wanting to eat.
"I'll have a steak as well, ma'am. Though I think I'd like mine well done."
"Well done?," Penance teased, "That'd be like chewing through a tire patch...."
"For one, I wouldn't know anything about chewing through tire patches," Jacen said nudging her with his elbow, "And for two, this comes back to my initial point, alot of us don't have healing abilities to fight off foriegn bacteria."
They kept on talking for a second when Jacen heard someone say, "Hey guys."
"Hello...," Jacen said, not really recognizing the girl. Obviously she had to be one of the X-Men if she was just walking up like the way she did and saying hello. That was still strange to him, being considered benevolent and generally accepted by the X-Men.
"That's Danielle," Penance said, letting Jacen know who the girl was that had just arrived.
"Ok. Danielle," Jacen said as he relaxed a bit in his chair. "I'd ask if you were willing to join us for this grand feast known as lunch.....but I see you've other plans," he said will gesturing towards her surfboard.

"Oh no, I've already been surfing, all this morning." Danielle said. She sat down by Jamie and leaned the board against the table, a few feet away on her other side.

"See, not only can we fight off villains by land now. If we give her one of our new weapons, we will have a naval fleet too," Penny waved to the waitress and told her to include Danielle in on their lunch. She also thought it was funny the amount of items they had strewn against the wall behind them. She was curious about Danielle, though while she was talking she slid a peice of ice into her palm, "Do your abilities help you surf or do you do it a natural?"
"Does it matter?" Jacen said and grabbed her hand before she got him. Penny dropped it on the floor. She already knew that wasn't going to work but she was blatantly flirting because it was fun to do.
"Nope, I was just curious," She said and watched the waitress dole out their salads and soup... which wasn't really soup. It was broth with a few green onions floating around it, "I swear it really is good. It doesn't taste like a tire patch, I swear."
"Do you really know what a tire path tastes like," Jacen asked her as she sipped some of the soup off her spoon.
She stopped eating and said the following to see what rise she got out of it, "There is almost no dare in the world I wouldn't do..."
"You aren't serious," He looked her dead in the eyes.
"Ha, I am serious but no, I really don't know what a tire patch tastes like," She smiled. Their chef pulled up to their table with his little cart of knifes, cooking oils, seasonings, and their raw food. She pushed away the empty soup bowl, "Time for the show."

"No I don't use my powers. A while back a friend taught me how to surf." She replied.

*insert a Japanese accent here*
"Hello, I am your cook today," The man said in a quite pleasant voice. He got their attention immediately by lighting a line of oil on fire on the grill. After making sure all of their orders were right, he started cooking rice and slicing up vegetables making sure to use incredibly fast movement and tossing his knives in ways that really shouldn't be humanly possible. But it was fun, it was part of the show, and the people usually tipped well.
Who would play along today? He sliced the tail off of a shrip and cooked it. He balanced it on the end of a knife and made a tossing motion to see who would catch. Most of the group pushed it off with a 'no way'. The girls, they seemed to be having fun. The older one leaned towards the grill and said she'd take the bait. He put spatula on the grill and flipped the shrimp up and she caught it in her mouth. He tried to get the others to play along, the crowd seemed to start having more fun with the dinner tricks. One of the boys caught a shrimp too for sport.
He sliced and diced their chicken, fish and steak and served their plates of vegetables and rice very carefully. He must be sure not to drop their food on the table. That made for a bad show and bad service. Overall, the crowd seemed pleased so he did another fire trick with some chicken before serving the last of their dinner.
Cleaning up, he thanked them and pushed his cart away onto his next customers.

Jamie grinned as the cook did his tricks. I really need to do this more often. . . He thought to himself, as he looked down at his plate. "How long have you been surfing? I've never gotten to try it." Jamie said to Danielle, and then took a bite of his lunch.

"About a year now." Danielle replied. "It's really not that hard." She smiled at him. Danielle started to think about her and Kevin, then the smile went away.

"Come on catch a shrimp," Penny nudged Danielle as she chewed hers. Danielle did it reluctantly but seemed to enjoy herself once she got into the fun of things with Penny.
---- OOC: The below is an editted 4 page AIM porter/regina post... lots of mushiness if you care to proceed smile
When Regina came back, Porter was highly interested in seeing what she had done. As much as he liked her, he knew little about her save student files he had which really didn't give that much insight into the things he wanted to know. After putting a hand on her should her looked at the 'art' on her shoulder, "That's some nice work. Why did you pick this one?"
"I love japanese mythology." she answered, letting him look it over. "When I saw the fox, Penny mentioned ninetails as a joke, but there is a myth about that so... I altered the image and got this."
"I'm not a mythology person, you'll have to tell me more... over lunch... which is the less obvious was of I'm snagging you to myself for a few hours," He said and continued really hoping she would say it was okay, "If you don't mind."
"Sure, I bet Penny wants some quieter time with Jacen anyways." Regina grinned, watching Penny talk with Jacen about swords.
Porter glanced back at them thinking a moment back on his conversation with Jacen. He called over to them, "Hey, we'll meet you guys back at the house later." Penny yelled something back about not waiting up to which he just shook his head and said nothing. Turning back to Regina, "I don't know if it's the teacher in me or what, but I worry about those two... You want to walk down to find something to eat?"
Regina nodded and headed down the walkway. "I'm a little worried too, but that's the friend in me. I don't want to see Penny hurt."
"You're right. She's probably saying the same thing about you and I as well. I'm not exactly the guy you bring home to mom," He joked with her but felt his statement really was true, "What are you in the mood for today?"
"My parents were pretty supportive of my whole ability... when they found out at least. I kept my grades up, so I guess to them anything was fine. I could have been a porn star, long as I had good grades." she returned, joking. "Anything sounds fine. This is a pretty big place."
Of course, a fleeting glance of Regina as a porn star did cross his mind and he let it keep crossing all the way out the window so it wouldn't distract him, "Yes it is, otherwise a group of kids purchasing enough swords to take over a large village would spread quickly. The deli looks good. I'm all about a good sandwich." He held the door open for her and then they ordered their lunch.
He gulped down some of his soda. The day was starting to get hot. They had been talking about their childhoods and he continued after speaking of his, "It really reminds me why I took Xavier's offer to be a teacher."
"You know caffiene dehydrates you in the heat... so why did you take the professor's offer?"
"Okay smarty pants," He said and put down the drink and joked, "To meet girls. "I took the job because I never want anybody to have to go through the things I have. To teach the kids how to use their powers to the best of their abilities."
They continued on speaking of why they were at Xavier's, books, and Regina's enjoyment of learning new things as of late. He lead them out of the deli to walk down towards the beach.
"Well, that's always good to know... and please forgive me if my head goes into the gutter. It has been an inhumanely long time since I've had a girlfriend that didn't freak out and run far far away from me," He led her out of the deli to see what more there was to see on the boardwalk.
Regina took hold of his hand. "I've never had a boyfriend... period. So while you'll have to move slow, I'm more than willing. Just respect me if I say no... I have no worry of that though."
She was incredibly sweet and he held onto her like she was going to flee for some reason, "Well, would you mind terribly if I did something just now that has been driving me mad for at least a week?"
"Sure." She shrugged, wondering what he had in mind. What had been driving him mad for a week now?
He stopped as they were walking under some of the shaded trees and brushed one of the strands of hair out of her face to see her completely. Leaning down slightly, he kissed her. He had wanted to do that since the first day he saw her.
It being her first kiss, Regina froze but melted with the kiss. ~okay i can definately deal with new experiences...~
Porter held onto her for what seemed like a nice eternity. He didn't have to read any emotions to understand that she didn't mind his advances. "Like, I said, that's been driving me crazy."
"I didn't know what I was missing out on..." Regina murmered, having somewhere along that time frame wrapped her arms around him.
He laughed and kissed her forehead, "Me, of course. That's what you were missing. Come on, let's go do something else fun."
Eventualy they found themselves walking down the beach far enough to see the beach house and a plethera of flyers Freya and Wanda had plastered everywhere.

Danielle was laughing and having a good time with Penny, when she happened to look across the restraunt and see that guy that was at the beach this morning. He was standing in a corner and no one seem to notice him but her. "Uh, sorry guys I gotta go." Danielle said, and ran out the door forgetting her surfboard.

"Well that was rather unexpected," Penny said as Danielle all but flew out of the restaraunt. She looked around the room to see if she could see something that could have triggered it but everything seemed fine and normal, "I'll be right back."
Penny wiped her mouth and put down her napkin. Teammates randomly dropping everything and fleeing usually concerned her. She caught Danielle outside of the door, "Hey, Dani, what's going on?"

Penny didn't want to push Danielle into having a conversation she really didn't want to have, but her gut told her that she should press the issue at least one more time. Danielle was on her team, and Penny needed her to know that she was there to be a friend to all of them.
"You really look like you need to talk about it," She put her hand on Dani's arm, "I know you haven't been on the team long, but you can talk to me about anything. It will remain between the both of us. I promise, I'll help you as best I can with whatever it is that's upsetting you."

"I-I can't, I just need to be alone right now." Danielle got up and walked off towards the beach. She sat down in the sand, and let the water come up and splash on her feet, and roll back out to sea. 'Could he really be back?' She thought, and looked down at scars that were on her arms, and stomach.
