Wrasynth prolly doesn't even really get bombs per se. I've never RPed him actually running into one. He might bug out thinking it's some sort of magical trap or something. He's more used to seeing things like people exploding, it might take him a moment to connect the dots that you can do that with science.

Yanking the detonator or fuse is one of the worst things you can do. Most bombs will actually go off if you try to disarm them in such a manner. Alie gets the kudos, she actually had the right answer.

Considering that thermite doesn't explode and it has to be heated to 4000 degrees F, its safe to pull the magnisium ribbon as long as you grab the part that isn't burning.

Considering that thermite creates a globe of thermal energy that will do so much more than simply barbecue you, that explosive devices are designed to detonate when tampered with, and that no demolition device short of dynamite is anywhere as simple as you seem to think, no. Simply pulling the magnesium strip isn't going to do you any good. If you aren't trained for explosive ordnance disposal you shouldn't even be theorizing about the correct way to disarm thermite or anything else.

Long story short, when you're trying to sound like a technical expert about something. When you have the audacity to talk out of your a** and get butt hurt about someone's thinking you're stupid?
DO SOME ******** RESEARCH!
Maybe the correct way to disarm your standard demolitions thermite device is to remove the magnesium strip. I doubt it's the correct way to disarm any subversively engineered explosives device as that's likely to get you simply killed. Regardless you have backed up your technical expertise with... no, you haven't. Which implies that you're seeking validation, which implies that you do in fact care what we think despite your sullen behavior. Which is implicit of you having a poopy life (don't get butt hurt, life is poopy for a lot of people right now. You're not special.). Which means you prolly don't know how to really be social around people. Maybe it was bullies, maybe you have a poopy family. I in fact don't care.
Point is if you want to make friends, especially here, (This is what I care about.) don't try to lie to us by trying to come off as a technical expert. It's obnoxious and insulting. Even the ones here who aren't as aggressive as I, that wont admit this? They find it obnoxious and insulting too, they just wont admit it, as they're composed of gushy care bear. God love them for it too as eventually I will be overwhelmed by self loathing (Surprise! I'm an a** hole, a** holes hate themselves more than they hate you.) and it is their yin to my yang or how ever the ******** that goes that will balance things out.
I balance things out by actually being able to address these things, instead of passively putting up with bull s**t forever until they're overwhelmed with self loathing for being far too passive. Or they erupt into a** hole mode and everyone wonders what the hell is wrong with them. Not that I've yet to witness this. This also a good deal of hypothesis and ere go is more opinion than actual substance.
Also the reason I am intentionally sand bagging you in public like this is that I think it will do everyone good to actually be able to discuss this adult fashion. As I very well could of addressed this to you in private. I didn't obviously, so how you deal with it I think will more importantly give you a second chance on how you want people to see you.

I am in fact aware of how arrogant I am. It's part of what makes me an a** hole. I unfortunately make no apologies for it unless I cause significant emotional or psychological trauma. I then feel significantly poopy.
