Yes, that's me. I'm the literal Snow White although Disney has rather sanitized my earlier life's story.

Well, to be fair, Dioosney only continued on a long, ongouing process. The sanitization of Fairy Tales is something that has been going on for some time.
As I understand, in the earliest tellings of Red Riding Hood, there was no conveniently interfering woodsman to keep poor Red from becoming a meal. And what had originally awoken Cinderella was NOT a chaste kiss, but the nursing of her (illegitimate) children.

Indeed. The sad thing is that there are several us of fables who have one thing in common- my ex husband. He went through me, Briar Rose and Cinderella but Disney type movies paint him as some wonderful guy. I guess I should not berate Disney too much. My kids love to watch their television channel and whenever you find something that stops 7 scruffy kids in their tracks, you're not going to knock it too much.

Ahh, but that's the thing. It's all a matter of perception. It's only from OUR standpoint that we see that there was only one Prince Charming, and they were all the same man.
Certainly, there are many ways to tell the same story. A fellow named Maguire seems to delight in proving this point, as he writes stories of Oz from the perspective of the Witch.
I do not care for "Disnified" stories, but . . . well, as you note. They aren't made to entertain me. They are made to entertain children. And in that regard, they succeed excellently.

Indeed they do and I'm thankful every day for it. 7 of them versus 1 of me is a bit much. It doesn't help that one of them is invisible and the other 6 can transform into a wolf or fly. Thankfully, Bigby is really great with them. He's out with them now for a short run.

Yes. Briar Rose is the name she grew up with. When she was older, she discovered her true identity was Princess Aurora but she goes by the Briar name.
