Kiah pouted when he halted her rocking, standing still again. “I don’t like people to do things they don’t want to,” she agreed, laughing when he started grumbling about Lavi. “Lavi’s a little... over the top, but he has some fun ideas, right?”

His hand left her shoulder to tap his chin, thinking about if she were to become an Exorcist.
"It's very dangerous, though."
He frowned at the thought of that, of her being in as much danger as he had in the past.
"No, he's just a pest."

“I could manage. I’d be doing more for the war effort than I am now...,” she stared at the ground a bit dejectedly, a frown on her face. “I want to be an Exorcist... but the Innocence apparently doesn’t want me.”
Kiah smiled in exasperation, knowing that whatever she might say in the redhead’s defense would be denied by Kanda. “But he’s a FUN pest.”

He crossed his arms and frowned at her self-deprecation. Whether she realized it or not, she was very important to the Order. It was actually the Exorcists that were the least important. Valuable, yes, but important to the Organization? No. They were expendable, like tools you could toss away when you were finished with them. He didn't want Kiah to turn into a simple tool or expendable weapon.

I wouldn’t be able to do much except use myself as a distraction,” she sighed, recalling the attack on headquarters a few months back when she lead a level two away from the scientists. “What if it doesn’t think I’m strong enough?”
Kiah believed that in order to make any impact on the war, you needed to be an Exorcist. She would trade places with anyone in the building just to keep someone safe and be able to help out more.
“If you say so...,” she finally conceded, still looking like she disagreed.
