As if Liv hadn't been feeling guilty enough already, the 'Oh' that came from Sil's mouth as she opened the door just made it so much worse. Her hands stopped fidgeting and her eyes looked from Sil's face, to the ground, and back a few times as she spoke, "Hi. I was just...well if you're busy, I can come back..."

The young woman felt a little guilty herself, wishing that little exclamation hadn't slipped out of her mouth. She wasn't the best at filtering in the best of times and once again her mouth easily could have gotten her into trouble. Her stomach churned a little before she slid her door open the rest of the way, exposing the safety of her room to the outside hallway. "I'm not..." Sil said a little hesitantly. "I was just starting to wonder what the sun looked like, so I was cleaning up a little bit in here. You can come in if you'd like. Good timing because this place could've given anyone an asthma attack with the dust."

Liv laughed lightly, not exactly in a fake way, but more in a nervous manner, "Ahah...it's really been beautiful lately. It would do everyone good to clear away everything that accumulated during winter. Open the curtains again," she stepped inside and looked around a little before turning to face Sil.
She waited for her to shut the door before taking a deep breath and speaking with as much sincerity in her voice and eyes as possible, "I came to apologize for what I said before. Not only is it not my place to say such things, but...I didn't mean what I said, Sil. Truly. That day I...don't know what came over me. I was projecting my feelings about other matters onto you and your situation, and. It was terribly inappropriate and I didn't mean what I said. That is the honest-to-goodness truth."

Sil hadn't exactly been expecting for Liv to jump right to the point so quickly. Of course both of them were thinking about it, but direct speaking wasn't something commonly heard of any longer. The young Italian woman was usually quite direct to the dismay of others and tried to tone it down over the last few years to spare some feelings. She closed the door slowly as Liv spoke, leaning against it until the latch clicked sweetly behind her and with a careful swallow she chewed her bottom lip anxiously.
"That's... the real truth?" Sil said quietly, the soft downward dips of her dark brows indicating her hesitation to accept the fact. Liv had been very candid when she was speaking before, and she knew she shouldn't question her apology and should just simply accept. It wasn't in her nature, however. "It wasn't inappropriate so much as... surprising... I just..." she let out a gentle sigh, cracking her knuckles-- two bad habits in less than a minute. "It's okay... I'm just about over it, anyway. You wouldn't be the first one who has told me that I made a colossal mistake, just... I didn't expect it from you..."
She settled down onto the bed, crossing her legs and in a moment of camaraderie, she patted her hand against the comforter to offer Liv to take a seat as well. "I know you've been... dealing with a lot," she acknowledged, knowing that now was not a time for pity nor a time to say Sil knew how she felt. She didn't, and wouldn't, not unless she had children.

Liv felt immediate relief at Sil's reply. She was so happy the other woman didn't sound completely full of resentment towards her, she nearly leaped to the bed with happiness. She threw her arms around the woman's neck and hugged her just like always, her embrace filled with nurturing warmth.
"It's the real truth," she said softly, with a nod of her head before she pulled back, "You didn't. You didn't make a mistake," she shook her head and raised a hand to fix up the fallen strands of Sil's hair.
Liv had always been a different type of woman. She was always tender and affectionate with all the people she cared about, so it wasn't unusual for her to make small gestures here and there. In a way it was for herself, too. She had an intense need to care for others, and she fulfilled it in her own little way. With a soft sigh she put on a small smile, nodding a little in agreement.
"It's been an adjustment, but...it's for the better, I truly believe that. I'm more at ease now. I'm still getting past things...it's going to take time, of course. But I already feel better. And I think that Luci is happier, too. She has so many people here that adore her already...and you know how she loves the attention," she shook her head and laughed lightly, "....I think that I'm headed for a good place."

Sil, albiet awkwardly, returned Liv's enthusiastic embrace, squeezing the young woman's shoulders with as much affection as she could muster. Though she would never forget that the words had been said, Sil intended to do everything in her power to push them to the back of her mind and remind herself that Liv honestly hadn't meant it. She didn't need any extra help doubting her own decisions, and a warmth filled her as she felt like a broken piece of their friendship had been restored with the honest truth.
"Thank you," Sil said, her eyes soft as deep appreciation for Liv's approval filled her. She was the only person besides Cross who knew their secret and in a way she needed that approval and the trust that she could come to her if she needed to. As Liv's soft hands brushed back her hair Sil flushed; the touch reminded her deeply and gut-wrenchingly of her mother. It had been so long since Sil had felt a touch like that and it brought her a great deal of comfort that she knew she couldn't express properly in words even if she tried.
Instead, she smiled a genuine smile and touched Liv's hand affectionately before she pulled away, speaking in silent gestures. Then, Sil drew her knees onto the bed and rested her chin upon them, listening with her brown eyes intent on the other young woman. "Well... If you or Luci need anything... You know where to find me... most of the time, anyway. I may not ever quite understand what you're going through properly, but you don't know anyone who will try harder," she smiled a little sheepishly though the corners of her soft lips hinted at a sadness, "Maybe we can counteract each other's rather awful luck, hm?"

She tilted her head a little in thought, "I don't know....I don't think I'd call it bad luck....I always try and remind myself that everything happens for a reason..even if it's hard to believe it sometimes."
"Thank you. I'll definitely take you up on that. Actually...," she patted her skirt out of habit before continuing, "I'll be going away for possibly several weeks, soon. I can't take Luci with me, so I'll need people to look after her while I'm away. If you'd like to, I would love for you to take care of her at least some of the time; I wouldn't ask for you to look after her the entire time, she's quite a handful..."

Road: I've heard Paprika was pretty good, and inspiration for the Inception movie if you haven't seen that one already. I've yet to see it, but it's on my netflix list. : D
