"You could have let me hit softer rock than that...." He tucked his braid back into place and shook his head to get his hair out of his eyes. "Yup, though only on the cheek. The one who kissed her on the mouth got his a** handed to him. She wasn't happy either." Crossing his arms in that big brother sort of way and then shrugging. "She's got about three who are vying for her attention. And like any girl, she's playing the field. One might be allowed to carry her books, walk her home, or sit next to her in class. I'm keeping an eye on it though, don't worry."

"I spared you details, consider it soft rock as it is." Grimacing a little, "You think I care it's just on cheeks. Someone is going to turn their head real quick one day. But good show for the reinforcement of that's a no go and anyone who tries gets hurt." Grinning then. "Long as I have you to look out for her I suppose I won't bother her to no end of such subjects. And as long as those boys don't bring down her grades."

"She's too young for that sort of thing and I intend to make sure nobody takes advantage of her. Same thing with Lyssie though boys her age still think girls are gross." Chuckling at the innocence of youth and then musing over it for a moment. "Faate's pretty good about making sure they know where things stand. Besides, she seems to really like Mykorian. Werent' they sleeping together at tournament?"

"Well just leave some for me, I want to get in on the 'leave my girls alone' action." Though a frown at the mention of Mykorian. "More of like she was hiding him under her bed or something...I don't like that boy but that's me." Shrugging lightly with a sigh. "Well, I don't have to worry about her actively being with boys at least for a few more years. Your mother is with me on that one."

"Of course. Just wait until they start showing up at the house and wanting to see her. Then you can really beat them down." Chuckling at his father's reaction and leaning back on the bed. "I think he's pretty harmless but she's pretty taken with him. Maybe it's just that he's different and she's intrigued. Still, might want to keep an eye on it. If she's willing to have him reverie in the same room with her, then he's gone a lot further than any of those who kiss her and give her rocks. And you know I'm with you on it all the way. You kept me from doing anything stupid when I was too young to know any better."

"Well hopefully she won't be too intrigued by him. Intrigued can lead to other things." Shaking his head at that. His daughter probably thought their protection silly but they'd still do it." But then a smile to his son, "Somtimes it's good to teach the young ones and sometimes it's good to let them learn on their own. It's all about learning when to do which method that makes your job as sibling or parent much easier." Resting his hand on his son's shoulder and giving him a look over. "But I see you're feeling much better." Zahara's remedies could kill anything in anyone's system.

"I will happily leave that task to you. Babies don't thrill me and I don't want any of my own." Shaking his head and then glancing up at his father with a grin. "I'm your son. Since when have we let anything keep us down for too long of a time?" Then making a face, "Mom's health probably has something to do with it." Shaking his head and then sighing. "So you and Mom are okay?"

"Don't be so quick to say that. Things surprise you. You're a good example of that yourself." Grinning at his first born...children had never been on his mind really. Well, not ones that he would be attached to and the like. He'd always taken that distant approach seeing as he was used to fathering children and not raising them afterward. Until Zykariel that was. "Yes, you are my son and we never think anything is wrong with us and it drives your mother mad." Chuckling again before giving a light sigh and a nod. "Yes, your mother and I are fine." Pushing his son's hair out of his face like he used to do when he was little and ask such questions, afraid mommy would be leaving again. "You don't have to worry about that."

Zykariel laughed but privately disagreed. "Okay," he amended, "right now I don't want any babies of my own. They're messy and too much work. When I'm older, my opinion may change but we'll have to wait and see." Giving a grin as if to say 'how's that?' He had to laugh right alongside his father since it was rather funny when his mother got all upset because they were out of bed when they were feeling fine regardless of the injury they'd sustained. He'd seen his father limp home covered in blood and up practicing runes the next morning. "I know it seems silly but I can always tell when you two are off. And you've been like that for a while now. Can't help reverting to old fears every once in a while. Especially since you like to tell me how old you are and young she is."

"You're still messy and too much work." Chuckling pleasantly at that before giving another nod to his son. "It's not silly...you worry and you just want to make sure things are okay. It's understandable. And personally I think your mother likes the reminder that she's younger these days. Makes her fluff her feathers and strut around so to speak and me...well as old as I am, I'm set in my ways and I'm not looking to change anything soon. Unless you're worried about your mother being more insterested in someone her own age?" Like Nadai for instance.

"No, not so much younger as attractive to you. That's why she puffs herself up and makes herself look younger." Rolling his eyes at that and the many tricks girls and women had pulled to get him into that position. "Well, I can't say I haven't thought about it, especially with the number of younger elves she meets selling her horses. I just know you'd let her go without a fight, Dad, and that doesn't please me. At all." Not to mention he really didn't understand that logic.

Like how she cut her hair." Shifting where he sat some to foster comfort, looking over at the tug on his braid as Nym climbed up it and come to rest on his knee, looking for pets. He was quite the happy ferret. A light nod, "It's always been that I thought...I'd rather let her go so she could be happy, than keep her trapped in a loveless marriage where's she'd just be bitter and hate me. But I wouldn't worry too much...your mother tends to find herself quickly annoyed with the younger crowd."

"If that were the case then I think I'd be happy you let her go rather than keeping her for your own selfish whims. But if she just wanted to go experiment or something like that...I don't think I'd be okay with you being okay with that." Reaching over and lightly scratching behind Nym's ears. "They talk too much for her tastes. She likes older men."

"O-kay...for me it all starts with looks. There's usually got to be something under those looks but that's what snags my attention." Shaking his head, his dad was just weird. Reaching down to the creature who had plopped next to him and giving him the scratches he wanted. "Good. I didn't think you would be but when she gets a little cozy with Nadai you don't really say anything. That used to scare me the most..." Laughing softly. "Well, usually you being quiet means she's in trouble or you're thinking too hard about something. And that's never a good sign to her."
