He continued to move around in circles, fighting off his every thought about Alma and about his outburst. He was oblivious to how long he had been pacing, and didn't think for a moment that Kiah would be coming out of the woods soon. He was unaware as she watched him for several minutes, until he heard the overly loud snapping of branches closeby. His head snapped up and he stared in the direction the sound came from, rooted to the spot. He listened for a few more seconds and realized the sound was moving away from him as opposed to towards him, and his muscles relaxed.
He thought about it for a moment and realized his reaction before had probably been uncalled for. He couldn't decide if he should walk away or go back into the woods. He sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, looking around the grounds before slowly heading back through the trees. He didn't really think he owed Kiah any kind of explanation, but he should probably apologize for acting the way he did. He wasn't very careful not to make noise, hoping she would stop so he didn't have to chase her down.
