She made an irritated noise but nuzzled her face into his chest since she knew he was right. She did miss a lot and had never really intended to. Sighing contentedly for a moment, she considered his question. She felt...refreshed in some ways but it was like the bud of a new flower. One incident wasn't going to complete the process and she had a feeling they both knew it. "Yes, I am. I'm also thinking that we have way too much hair between the two of us. It could just about be our blankets."

He couldn't help but laugh at that one, pleasantly of course. "Well I was the one with long...ish, hair first. And in this case it's mostly yours...mine's only that long in the front on one side. You know I don't let the rest go too much." Granted he was probably due to hack off a few inches here soon. Giving her a lopsided grin, he ran his hand through her long hair...or what was mostly her hair. "I think this is the longest you've ever had yours. I think I always preferred your hair short." But he could go either way...and they both knew that braid of his wasn't getting hacked on anytime soon...unless there was an unfortunate accident of the hair sorts from children or work.

That just cinched the thought that had already crossed her mind more than once. Her hair could only get so long before it began bothering her all over again. In the past couple of years, she'd begun hacking it off to about her shoulders but this time she was thinking of going as short as it was when he'd first met her. If I were a little bit taller from the back nobody would be able to tell if it was you or me. Be pretty amusing if they mistook you for me or vice versa."

"I hardly think anyone would mistake us...unless you're saying I look like a woman from the back. Are you keeping vital information. I mean I know I eat like a woman at times but come now." Poking fun at her, which indeed spoke of his own better mental state too at least for the time being. He never joked when he was in mental hell. "And no one could mistake you for a man. Believe me." Chuckling lighlty and watching as her hair slipped through and between his fingers as he continued to play with it. "Does this mean you're coming after me with a knife again?" To cut his hair of course, but the old situational joke worked in this case too.

"I'm going to assume there's a compliment in there somewhere and just take it that way or I will indeed be coming after you with a knife." Laughing softly and shifting so that she was no longer laying on large sections of her hair. "It is about time to cut yours. But we don't have to do it just now, Sevilin. We're pretty much free until later tonight when we have to pick up Kelli. And even then he'll be so worn out from playing all day that he'll go straight to reverie."
PostPosted: Tue Apr 22, 2008 11:15 pm

"Yes, you can surely take that as a compliment. I think I'm the one who got the anti-compliment side of that whole thing." Giving that rare frown pout thing he did, almost everytime she mentioned cutting his hair, but was rare other than those occassions. But then a devious look. "Do we even know what to do with free time to ourselves without children other than pick at each other. I'm sure I can find ten places to hide napkin rings if you give me five minutes." Giving a short lived chuckle. "How about...we get some clothes on and we can go riding...you can laugh as I awkwardly try to do so."

"You're not the only one. I'm just selectively ignoring what I didn't want to hear." She plopped a kiss on the frowning pout he had going on to erase it and then couldn't help the chuckle that escaped. "Be still the gods who have rearranged the plane and interplanetary cosmos. Sevilin Inthara requests riding as an activity?" Teasing could only go so far though he gave her even more opportunities to tease him as he did attempt to ride the horses that loved to snap at him and make him uneasy. It was all very amusing, really. They returned and made wonderful use of their late afternoon with a bath and a few more intimate dances until a short reverie session and dinner and it was time to get Kelligrin. True to her word, the baby was completely worn out and dropped into reverie on the way home, snuggled in his father's strong arms.

The next morning, Sevilin still in reverie in bed and Kelligrin snuggled in next to him, she stood before the full length mirror, completely devoid of a stitch of clothing, tapping her dagger against her naked thigh. Should she do it? Should she not? Taking hold of her hair, she began slicing it first to the middle of her back and then in between her shoulders and the middle of her back. Layer after layer began falling around her feet and before she knew it, her hair was up to her shoulders. Tilting her head, she pulled aside that single braid and sliced it cleanly, a little longer in the back but short and spiky as it had been when he'd first met her. A shake of her head to achieve the windblown look and she felt ten years younger. Nearly skipping to her closet, she chose another older outfit in a deep red with a green cape in deference to her House and began making breakfast.

Zykariel cracked open his swollen eyes and instantly wished he had some water. He wasn't likely to get any here though. Lifting his fingers to his cracked lips, he blew a weak whistle. It shouldn't have been enough to call his horse but she was right by his side in an instant. Exhausted from fighting back, he had minor wounds all over his body and wasn't going to be faring too well if he didn't get some help soon. Destyny proved a godsend once again. He managed to lever himself into the saddle and held on. "Home girl...let's go...home..."

Fingers sought out the warm body that should be there but was only meeting quickly cooling sheets. Yawning as he propped up on his elbows, red eyes still half closed looked to the bed...yup she was gone. Though his nose told him that she was already up and making breakfast. Getting himself dressed, it was a quick shower before dressing...and then walking over to the mess on the floor...was that hair? Seemed so...and it seemed that Nym was enjoying stealing chunks of it to cart of as bedding to his many hidey holes in the house. Instantly a hand went to his own hair...no it was all there. Did she cut her hair?

Making his way down the hall...he couldn't help the feeling in the back of his mind that something was off and he didn't like it at all. But no runes were going off...so the kids were fine. Well...they weren't serverely injured at least. A look in on Kelligrin, plucking him out of his crib even if he was still in reverie and then down the hall more to his eldest's room. Hm, door wasn't closed. Peeking in he noticed the bed had that unslept in look. Did he not come home? That was further unsettling.

Downstairs with himself, he laid Kelligrin into his playpen where he would be put anyway while breakfast was cooking and made his way to his wife, wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing a kiss to her shoulder, despite her motions of breakfast making. A chuckle and he ran a hand through her hair. "You cut you hair back short again. I like it. Though for a moment I thought you had gotten me in my reverie." Pressing another kiss to her shoulder, one hand caressing over her stomach lightly before an inqisitive look. "Have you seen Zykariel this morning? I don't think he came home last night..."

She smiled softly at familiar motions and leaned back into him then glanced behind her to note Kelligrin's new spot. He was getting too heavy for her when he was deep in reverie and nothing but dead weight or she'd have tucked him in bed next to her husband while she made breakfast. His fingers brushed her scalp and the nape of her neck and she shivered slightly then nodded. "It was too long and I cleaned out Nym's holes the other day so I thought that might make him happy again. Now he has fresh hair." Which was also why she hadn't cleaned it up yet. "No, he didn't. And I'm a little worried about him. He isn't answering his linkstone either."

Destyny managed to pop home in a matter of seconds, her burden safely ensconced on her back. She gently moved so that Zykariel slid off and hit the ground. "Thanks, girl." Using her pommel, he pulled himself up and started limping towards the house but fell halfway there. "Dad!" It came out as nothing more than a weak whisper but he slowly removed his dagger and sliced his wrist. He knew how his father kept tabs on him and he knew the severity of the injury would trigger.

"I was wondering why he was irritable. Though he's a very happy little ferret now. Soft white silk to make up his bed, who wouldn't be happy." Pressing a kiss to her cheek and giving her a squeeze before a slight frown as apparently she confirmed things with him about their first born...Zykariel may be trouble and seemingly irresponsible sometimes, but he always had the decency to answer his linkstone. Again that unsure feeling of the back in his head. Which was quickly turned to high alert as he startled and stepped back from his wife, thinking for a moment he had burned his hand on the stove...before he noticed the rune glowing brightly on the back of his hand. "Zykariel."

In a matter of seconds he had turned on his boot heel and was already heading out of the house, following where his instincts and runes told him to go. Though he didn't get too far out of the house before there was destyny and Zykariel on the ground not a foot from her. And he looked like complete hell. Striding over to his son, rolled the boy over gently and slipped one arm under his shoulders and the other his knees, scooping the boy up as if he weighed nothing, pivoting on his heel and starting inside. He didn't have to yell for Zahara, he knew she had most likely been on his heels or was well aware by now. "What happened to you?" Not the you're in trouble voice but the more soft spoken, rhetorical if need be at the moment tone.

She was indeed right on his heels, having felt the shift of energy and that burst of awareness in her head that one of her children was not faring too well. A strangled noise dropped from her throat at seeing her firstborn curled into a ball on the ground and she covered her mouth, praying it wasn't as bad as it looked. Waiting for Sevilin to pick him up, she was already back in the house and grabbing her medicines and potions. "Lay him on the couch, Sevilin. We need to find out where he's injured."

He moaned in pain as he was jostled and held a hand over his chest. "Hurt...racers..." Letting his father carry him as if her were a small child, he caught his mother's wrist before she could start healing him. "Alright...water..."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2008 2:03 pm

A lot of things didn't scare Sevilin...but if there was one thing someone could mention and instantly get him upset would be that Zykariel wasn't well. At one point in his life, Zykariel had been his whole world when he had nothing else. However, Sevilin always had control of himself as well in most situations and this was one where he did indeed need to be in control. Though rather than take him to the evil couch, he took the boy to the kitchen, laying him down on a table. In Sevilin's world, soft still did not translate to health helping. "Couch is too limiting." Moving to grab a glass of water before coming back to his son adn propping him up gently so that he could lean back against his father's chest, tilting his head some so that he didn't have to do too much to get down some water. A frown and he looked to his wife with the worried look. "Don't be prideful, let your mother check you over."

He greedily drank the water, ignoring everything else except his burning throat and dry mouth. It didn't even matter when he choked and some spilled out of the side of his mouth.

Zahara met Sevilin's eyes and nodded, grabbing a bowl and walking over to the table. It took her a moment to remove all of her son's belts and weapons that he kept on his person before she began sponging at blood. That cut on his wrist was the first to go and using magic too. She couldn't have him bleeding to death. "Slowly. He needs more water, Sevilin. Have him drink the entirety of this glass." Handing him a much taller one and then dipping a cloth in the bowl and cleaning his cuts once more. "Kariel...who did this to you?"

He searched for and clutched his father's hand when a stinging sensation screamed through his arm. "Too many....couldn't...fight off..."
PostPosted: Wed Apr 23, 2008 3:28 pm

Hm, Sevilin was breifly reminded of a time he'd been in similar shape...though that involved Vesendar drow and poison...adn there went his thoughts in a bad direction. Though he took the glass and let his son drink, but tried to keep him from doing too much at once or he'd just toss it back up. "Sounds like he got himself into a brawl of some sorts." His free hand petting lightly through his son's hair. "Zahara...check his throat..." Just in case because he knew personally that enhaling poision and such like that was not pleasant. A squeeze to Zykariel's hand as the boy searched for something...that was odd...magical healing never really hurt. "And don't use any more magic..." Something was surely not right here...but for now he spared his son the questions on assailants.

Glancing up from where she was applying ointment to one of his cuts, she frowned. "Don't use magic?" But waiting for her son to pause in his drinking, she tilted his head back, forced his mouth open and studied his throat. "It's inflamed." Which was not a good thing. "Kariel, did they give you something? Force you to eat or drink something? What's in your system?" That might be why he'd reacted so strongly to the magical healing. Cutting open his tunic, she nearly passed out at the jagged cut across his chest. "By the gods..." If she couldn't heal it magically, it was going to have be sewn shut. But maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked...

"Don't know...knocked down." Struggling for a moment to find the word he wanted. "Black....out...."
