"Mmm hmm," Kiah nodded in agreement and went up to the counter to pay the bill, sidestepping their former waitress on her way back so she didn't end up with more food in her hair.
She rushed back to Kanda and followed him out the door, glancing back one last time. It had been a fun day, and with him by her side, she'd almost completely forgotten what had happened the last time she'd been in town. She didn't think she would have felt as safe with Kyle had he come instead, since he was so easily distracted by everything around him. Smiling softly at the ground, she continued on, barely registering anyone else on the road.

He walked beside her back towards the Order. He was quiet again and so was she, but he liked it that way. He was content just to be in her company with no words between them. The conversation tired him when it was about nothing in particular. He wasn't always sure how to talk about serious subjects either, even though lately he had been feeling every urge to spill his innermost thoughts. As they reached the steps to the front doors he looked off towards the wooded area of the grounds. He remembered the place Kiah had mentioned before, and wondered how far away it was from where they stood. The sun was just starting its descent below the horizon, and while it was still light out, the oncoming of dusk could be seen in the change of the skies, the sway of the trees and the increasing sharpness of the shadows.

((I've talked with my principal and she says that I didn't miss enough days to cause any problems with my schooling, so I'm good so far. The amount of work I've missed isn't too bad, and I'm already good in all of my classes so there's no need for me to worry.))

(( FFFFFFFFFFF, sorry about taking so long... my mom needed me to do something... ))
Kiah passed him on the cold steps of the Order, tiptoeing upward in the silence of the evening. The rustling of the flags hanging around the building due to the slight breeze was the only thing to be heard. She paused at the door and closed her eyes, enjoying the peace and quiet before going back to the bustling office again, where she was sure some form of chaos would be present. Glancing back at him and the view of the woods in the distance, she smiled, opening up the doors and waiting for him to follow her in.

He didn't remove his eyes from the woods as she continued up the steps without him. He heard each clack of her heels and the light creak of the doors as they opened. He spoke quietly, barely above a whisper, still staring out across the lawns.
"You should show me that place you told me about the other day."
He kept watching the sway of the trees before finally turning to look up at her from the bottom of the steps.
"But I suppose you aren't dressed for it."

Kiah blinked down at him and slowly shut the doors, matching his quiet tone and hopping down the steps next to him, "Sure. It might be dark by the time we come back, though."
She gave him a fake offended look, putting her hands on her hips in a proud pose. "I can navigate that place in pretty much anything!" she whispered, "I just... might need to do some washing up when I get back. Which I have to do anyway." She flicked her ponytail forward with her hand, giving him a pointed look.

((There's this blog where this guy roleplays as "Gentleman Once-ler" and answers questions on a regular basis. I've been stalking it for a while and decided to wish him a late Happy Birthday (Once-ler's birthday was on the 22nd). I wasn't expecting him to reply back, but then I saw I had a new message: "Thank you Darling. I am glad that you wished me a happy birthday even though it was late. I like that." You should've heard the noise I made when I read that emotion_kirakira ))

"Alright, alright... I'll be right back." Kiah smiled and sighed in exasperation, slipping through the doors and jogging back to her room. She quickly threw on her every day clothes and placed her nicer clothes neatly on her bed, strapping her pistol to her side again.
After dodging a few people in the hallways on the way back, she ran back outside, panting slightly. "Okay! Let's go!" she said excitedly, already running towards the trees. She knew he would catch up easily, so she didn't bother to look behind herself.

He had been leaning against the walls of the Order when she burst back outside. He had little time to gather his wits before she was dashing off for the woods. It was lucky he was used to tailing people, because he easily shook himself into alertness and caught up with her. When they got into the woods he side-stepped around trees, following her closely. Part of him wanted to slow down and savor the thickness of the wood, with no sound save for the crunching of undergrowth beneath their feet. But she was so excited, thrill seeming to emanate from every part of her, he couldn't help being slightly overcome himself. He had forgotten what it was like to be this active in a real setting as opposed to the dismal training room. He leaped over bushes here and there with ease, his silky ponytail cascading behind him in the breeze.
