I'm afraid he's gonna bite my head off but we still love him. He's nice jest stay relaxed if you know the music it will come to you....I still haven't tried again I need to though. good luck kyon kyon!
and jsut do your best, kilala! thats all it is! smile just let goOooOo! ^_^ eat a bannana <3
D: you guys are lucky you all don't have to do an interview...or write an interpretation [even though I must admit I am 1337 at interpreting music...I LOVE doing that!]
and having proffessional musicians judge a little eighth grader is too much [I'm not lying! D: this is the arts academy >_< and boston symphony, pacific symphony, and MIDORI has agreed to help next year when it opens] =/ I'm a little freaked out..the interview is what scares me, I don't know why I can't answer the question what music is to me :/ everyone has literally gasped when they heard me say that @_@; kyao!
but I hope all goes well for you guys!I made marching band.. I thought i was gonna have a panic attack when my friend jokingly told me that we didn't make it...

Jennuh Guess I really need need NEED serious advice from my fellow clarinet players out there. I am currently at the end of Sophomore at my current Music Conservatory college in NYC and I'm planning on transferring up to SUNY Potsdam for the Crane School of Music but I am stumbling over audition pieces. I want to play either the Sonate by Saint Saens or Arabesques by Paul JeanJean. I'm not really sure which to pick. Which do you think I could pull together by October/November/December-ish (Audition dates not out yet). I have NO idea what Arabesques looks like because sheetmusicplus.com has no image of it and I've never heard. For those who have played either of the pieces above (Or both would be a plus), which did you find easier/harder? Which is more technically difficult but able to be put together faster? If anyone has played Arabesques, can you PLEASE scan or take a cellphone picture of at least a page or 2 for me? I really really can't find it online and I wanna see what it looks like before I order it. hmm, well can I see Sonate :0? And whats your reason for transferring anyways? mm whats the requirements for the audition? hmm my teacher has the vade mecum clarinet etude book by jean jean...l'll ask him for a copy, I need the etude book like mad! So I'll copy it once I get it... it might be in two weeks, if I ask him about it this week then he'll have to give it to me in two weeks, he's having an audition next week [mines is this week!] for the orchestra he's in--pacific symphony [he's not a permanent member] so he's canceling lessons that week. will that be okay? :0

Congratulations!!! blaugh I hope you have a ton of fun in marching band! So it looks like it's going to be Kira and I for section co-leaders. I thought that Caitlyn and Lizzie would submit applications but only my and Kira's names have shown up on the list. Lauren and Corey are trying out for drum major (actually, Corey's already senior drum major, but she has to re-try out for some odd reason) and Emily's going for uniform manager. It's going to be clarinets for the leadership of the band! blaugh twisted

I was part of a marching band once, but i was using a wood clarinet so you couldn't really hear me anyway. I'm in my first year of uni, and i've been playing for 6 years. I'm also part of a concert band and i love it heart biggrin

well good luck to everyone in thier audtions I've been working at meorizing the show and playing it up to speed. I have a CD with the music I still haven't re-tried out so I guess I'll let him evaluate me during band camp cause apperantly there was no more auditions and plus since I most likely worked harder then any one who marched the field just to get a spot and plus I'm one of the only freshman clarinets that has looked at the music and is not trying out for section leader. I went and saw the middle school band concert and I was like wow. It was sad the highest level middle school band was playing music that we sightread this year. I feel sorry for them cause it's going to be a huge wake up call to them during marching season.

I had my last clarinet lesson of the school year today crying But my teacher and I concurred that at least once during the summer, I'll come running up her driveway with my clarinet yelling "Sensei, help meeee!!!" gonk
I've been feeling paranoid and insecure lately, and it's been affecting my music. I think it's because of AP exams, end-of-year finals, etc., but it's never affected me this much or reflected in how I play my clarinet. Usually I get more relaxed when I play. Nowadays playing's just making me more stressed out. emo
I'm going to go hide in the corner now. gonk
