The children grinned at Miyuki, and Amalirahc shuffled over to make some room for her.
"You don't have to shout," he grinned at her. "We're both just right here! You want to play with us too?"
"Come on, Miyuki!" River chimed in. "He's beating me! If you join we restart and it's back to being equal again!"

Settling down Miyuki nodded, "Okay, let's play. Oh! And do you know where Haldia and Celeb went? I don't see them anywhere."
Since that had been her original reason for looking in the first place.

"No," River replied gleefully, collecting all of the cards back and shuffling them up.
"Nope," Amalirahc echoed, putting his chin in his hands while he waited for River to deal the cards again. "Haven't seen them since it started to rain."
"You said they went to the air with you and your family to stay above the rain," River protested.
"Yeah, well then they went off somewhere," Amalirahc shrugged. "I don't know where."

"Huh....." Miyuki thought that was kind of weird.
Though explained where her friend went to all this time.
"That's weird... they didn't say anything to your parents?"

"I don't know," Amalirahc shrugged again. "I was watching the storm from above the clouds! It was so neat! It was hard to hear what anyone was saying because the thunder is so loud when you're so close to it! And once - this was the best part - we saw lightning SO CLOSE that my hair went like THIS!"
He braced himself on his elbows and used his hands to hold his hair straight out to the sides.

Miyuki blinked several times at him upon hearing that. She had heard things about lightening such as to not be out in a lightening storm because you might get struck by it.
"Isn't nearly being struck by lightening normally a bad thing?" she finally asked him.

"Well that was when we were still on our way up," Amalirahc grinned. "And it's okay, it didn't hit us. But I felt all funny after it, my hair wouldn't go flat and I was kind of ... I don't know, tingly for a while."
"That would be scary," River frowned.
"It kind of was, but then it wasn't," Amalirahc shrugged. "Then it was fun, watching it from above it."

Miyuki wasn't so sure about that but if her friend said so then she would trust him, or at least try to on that account.
"As long as you were safe," she replied.
Still, she didn't think she would have liked being that close to lightening.

Earendil had been waiting to hear back from Miyuki if her friends had any information, but when she didn't get back to them, he knelt down and poked his head under the wagon.
"Miyuki?" he asked, careful not to let Andarien tip out of the sling. "What's the word?"

"Not a clue," Miyuki replied back.
She had forgotten she would have to tell her ada about what she found out. To be fair she was still young and the young was easily distracted.
"They left shortly after the storm started, flying... but didn't say why or where."

"All right." Earendil straightened up again and turned to Lin. "Maybe we should ask Kelirahc and Leyenda, I have to admit I'm a bit worried. Considering how long ago the storm ended, I would have expected them to come back by now, especially if they didn't say where they were going."
It made him quite uneasy, actually. If something had happened to them, they would have no idea where to look; and if nothing had happened to them, then he thought it was quite rude of them to let people worry needlessly.

"Maybe they got caught up with something," Miyuki suggested, "That reminds me."
She looked back at Amalirahc, because there was a slight chance he might at least know this.
"Do you know where Arthael and Halmir went to?"

Amalirahc blinked at Miyuki, his golden eyes almost seeming to glow in the shadows beneath the wagon. "They said something about lying," he told her.
"That's not right," River interrupted him. "Grandmama said they were going to have a lie-in. That means they went for a nap, but since it's not a real nap-time she called it a lie-in instead."

"Oh... so they're resting at the moment," Miyuki looked up at her ada, "So at least you know where they are."
Which was a good thing really.

Earendil smiled at Miyuki. "Thank you," he told her, and he reached out to ruffle her hair affectionately before turning back to Lin. "So Arthael and Halmir are resting, but Haldia and Celeb are still missing."
So things weren't as bad as they could be.
