"Sounds interesting," Earendil smiled. "I guess we'll just have to see once the storm is over."

Amara had finished in the kitchen, and she came into the living room and smiled at everyone. "So ... sleeping arrangements are decided?" she asked.

Earendil smiled at her and nodded. "Lin will take one room with Miyuki, and since Haldia has already slept I will use the other."

Amara shot him a thumbs up. "Got you. I'll get them ready."

Amara headed down the hall to prepare the rooms, and Fletcher watched Miyuki thoughtfully. He wondered if perhaps she would be interested in some of the very few toys they had left from when they'd entertained Aliya and Adonai on rare occasion when they had been children.

Without a word, he got up and crossed the room, going to the closet where the games had been stored. He opened it and reached up onto the top shelf again, and brought down a second chest, slightly smaller than the first one had been. He closed the closet again and brought the chest over to the middle of the room.

"Miyuki," he called, opening the chest to reveal a few raggedy dolls, some blocks, carved animals, and stuffed balls.

Fletcher smiled and poked the ball so that it popped out of Miyuki's hands and rolled away across the floor. He didn't mind playing with her - and it would do her good to realize that Earendil wasn't the only person who could play with her. If only for Lin's sake.

"Go get it," he grinned at the girl.

Fletcher grinned and took the ball back from Miyuki, and tossed it across the room again. "Go on," he urged her. "Get the ball!"

Earendil watched the two with a smile and leaned over to Lin. "Has she played with a ball before?" he asked her softly. He thought not, but he wasn't entirely sure. After all, he wasn't the only person to play with her, and he wasn't always around.

"Do you think maybe that's changed?" Earendil asked as Miyuki ran after the ball. "She seems to be enjoying herself well enough at the moment ..."

Fletcher chuckled as he watched Miyuki run. Those tails were just too amusing to him ...

"Well, that's good," Earendil smiled at Lin. "Then perhaps you won't have such a difficult time with her when you have to go home without me."

He reached over and ruffled her hair affectionately, grinning at her. "After all, I can't go everywhere with her."

Fletcher chuckled and waited for Miyuki to come back to him.

Earendil snickered before he could help it, then coughed to cover it up.

"I'm sure he would," he said, trying hard (unsuccessfully) to keep a straight face. "If you were to tell your father, I'm almost a hundred per cent certain that he would crack up."

Why? Because he was sadistic like that.

Fletcher grinned and rather than taking the ball, he got to his knees and turned Miyuki around. He put his hands over hers and helped her to toss the ball in the air and across the room. "Throw!" he grinned. "Now go get it!"
