"See ya, Skutz." Remus said.
It was at that moment that he received a distress call from a few of his followers. They were pinned down by Sentinel's forces. In a flash, Remus was out the door of the tavern and boarding a drop ship. The vehicle took off, in the direction of the bright flashing lights that could be seen in the distance.

((I think that I'm going to end up using this account for all of the characters that have to do with the Gaian army...))
There were but two souls in the near-deserted tavern. They were huddled in the corner, one hunched over the other, diligently washing its compatriots wounds. An elven doctor, it appeared, was fixing up a Gaian soldier. The soldier's face and general head area were obscured, but it appeared to be a faun, and a female one at that. In the dim light of the place, once couldn't even make out the creature's fur color. It was apparent that the being wasn't doing so well, however.
The doctor nodded to himself after all of the wounds were cleaned, and reached into his pocket for a needle. He'd have to mend some of the really bad ones, and he hadn't any anesthetic.C a n y o u t e l l a g r e e n f i e l d F r o m a c o l d s t e e l r a i l ? A s m i l e f r o m a v e i l ?

A pair of pointed ears pricked forward as a presence reached her senses. Another elf? Interesting.
Emma removed the cloaking spell that had kept her concealed, revealing her leaning against the wall of the Tavern.

As the spell went down, Dr. Cairndeer's own ears perked up instantly, suddenly aware of her presence. He turned his head instantly to see Lady Emma standing there. He nodded in acknowledgment.
"Aaye."
He wished he could say more, or have more to say - but he was long out of touch with any of his kind or those close to his kind - plus this Faun he had was pretty damn close to bleeding out.C a n y o u t e l l a g r e e n f i e l d F r o m a c o l d s t e e l r a i l ? Emma noticed his patient and her eyes widened. "No..."
She didn't seem to have made any movement, but in the next moment she was kneeling beside the doctor. "What happened to her?"

"She was out recruiting, or campaigning against the enemy, or some such."
The medic had either bandaged or sewn up most of the wounds now, but she had still lost quite a bit of blood.
"A mob overtook her, I don't know exactly how many there were, but to do this to the Lieutenant... it must have been quite the crowd."
He frantically opened the section of his kit that was iced. There were few packets to begin with there, but even fewer that Lt. Jayim could use.
"Damn."
And now Kaok was barely stirring, her eyes drooped closed. If what he suspected was true.... With lightning speed he removed a flashlight from his supplies and checked his hypothesis. A definite concussion.
"If you care as much about Lt. Jayim as I do, please... will you keep her awake while I find a way to replace the blood she's lost?"C a n y o u t e l l a g r e e n f i e l d F r o m a c o l d s t e e l r a i l ? A s m i l e f r o m a v e i l ?

Emma nodded, shifting slightly to take the Lieutenant's head in her hands. Violet light flared around her fingers, keeping the Faun from slipping away.
"If I find out who hurt her they will pay."

"Kaok has never been a fan of others fighting her battles for her." The Doctor mumbled.
He felt slightly uneasy about making statements like this anymore. Sure, he'd been her medic since her career had began, following her from company to company... but he hadn't seen her since her reassignment. He heard tell that she had changed a bit since then.
But his mind snapped back to the problem at hand. James looked desperately around the room.
"Is there a telephone, here? If I remember correctly... Sgt. Rook is a match with the Lieutenant's blood type."
Alright, so he hadn't seen Jayim in a while, but he'd sure read every file with her name on it. He wasn't going to let his friend fade out of his life like that. If he hadn't done, how would he have found out what mission she disappeared on in this bloody battle?C a n y o u t e l l a g r e e n f i e l d F r o m a c o l d s t e e l r a i l ? "Unfortunately, no...but there is another option."
Emma produced a silver knife from the mysterious fold of her skirts where the universe seemed to be contained.
"You are a physician, you know where to cut."
She rolled up her sleeve, offering him her own arm.

"Look, Madam, I would love to give my blood to the Lieutenant as well."
His voice matched hers, with a little bit of poison to it.
"But the fact is that we're elves and the chances of our blood helping a Faun are little to none. "You underestimate me, Sir."
She indicated a series of runes on the hilt of the knife, carved by her seven centuries ago. "I enchanted this to save the life of a human friend of mine. Use it and you will have a match for the Lieutenant."

The doctor examined the knife, a bit embarrassed actually now that he knew. But it was going to save his old friend. A bit quickly and unceremoniously, he took hold of Emma's arm and cut. Cairndeer took very little time gathering the blood that he received from the sorceress, and in seconds he was transfusing it into Lt. Jayim intravenously. The process worked perfectly.
"Well, damn." He admitted, magic was pretty amazing at times. It was a wonder to him why he hadn't used a spot of it in so long. "That's one problem solved."
He was extremely careful in bandaging Emma's arm, out of thanks perhaps.

(As will I.)
Emma stood quickly, brushing the dust off her skirts. There was a sense of urgency about her. "I'm afraid I must take my leave. Samhain calls."
With that, she vanished into the night.
This particular night held a great deal of meaning for her, and there were things that had to be done.
