Crack!

Scrapings from the bark of the Tree of Life scratched off and fell onto the toe of #387's standard issue boot.

His right fist was pressed against the tree; stopped dead in its tracks after slamming in; and there was no movement at all from the Hunter 2nd Class except that of his eyes darting from side to side to assess the situation.

"Location... unknown."

The last thing he'd known was that he was working out in the training room, but halfway into a punch thrown at the sandbag everything had suddenly shifted into the surroundings he now found himself in. It defied all explanation... but #387 was a soldier, he didn't need to know why. All he needed to know was what his surroundings were, and what directive to follow in dealing with the current situation.

"Environment... unknown."

He retracted his fist, adjusting the gloves upon both hands to sit properly again, and made an observation around him. He was at the trunk of a tree, above him and below him it seemed to continue for eternity, all around him there was a mass of swirling colors that did not resemble any landscape that he was familiar with, and the only viable option for dealing with the situation was recon.

Behind him the limb upon which he stood seemed to continue for miles into the void, with no end in sight.

"Equipment... inadequate."

He had nothing. Only dressed in the undersuit for his field uniform, wearing the standard issue boots and the standard issue gloves that closely resembled gauntlets in their own right. He didn't even have his helmet and visor, much less Force, Deadly Force, or Reserve.

Scractching his boot soles upon the tree bark he tested the limb for stability, and tested his own footing to ensure that his traction would not give; and then he set off down the endless tree limb at a tactical jog.

"Commencing operation."

Before there can be any kind of description or details perceived by anyone, it'd be noticeable that everything didn't seem right. Anybody here would realize that no matter what their sense perceived or how they did it, they'd understand that something was intrinsically wrong with this place.

It was a tavern. Just like any other nondescript bar it had all the necessary parts. Tables, chairs, a bar, stairs to an apparent second floor. Except this one was on fire.

Flames crawled the ceiling and floors, up chairs and tables. The serving bar itself was just an array of open flames that went across the back wall and over the bottle racks.

There was one table that was seemingly spared, aside from the glass of unknown contents that was apparently flammable. At it was a man with his legs propped up on the table itself while he reclined in a wooden chair. Large combat boots lead up a pair of black dress pants and a white dress shirt with long sleeves. Over the shirt was a shoulder holster for a very distinct sidearm.

It was Gamma, and he was having a ******** up dream.

"I knew there was a reason I thought you were interesting." A vaguely familiar voice would be heard, about a second before the feeling of a riding crop would slice along his leg. "Didn't your mother tell you it was rude to not stand when a lady entered the room."

Minxi entered, her red hair sweeping over her shoulder in a thick braid as she entered into Gamma's view, the riding crop that -should- have been in Gamma's possession snapping idly against her other hand as she gave him a look of 'It took you long enough'. Took him long enough to do what remained unsaid, but she didn't clarify. It wasn't something she did. She made statements or gave orders. That was about it. She still hadn't even commented on why she thought he was interesting.

He didn't even turn his head. Instead he leaned forward and grabbed the mug of flaming booze and drank from it. Apparently the fire was either fake or just didn't bother Gamma. Another one of those things that didn't quite add up.

Giving a rather lazy sweep of his hand he gestured to another chair at the table, offering her a seat. Never mind that the backrest was on fire.

"Come here often?" The way Gamma spoke made it sound like he was giving a pretty half assed one-liner to someone he just met at a bar. For whatever reason, it didn't look like he was as glad to see her as she was him. Impatient, even.

"You have to be one of the more ******** up individuals I've met, Gamma..." She paused as she began to sit down. "Just realized I've haven't seen your face before. It's got character." She flipped her braid off her shoulder and sat down. Her own face was attractive more in a power and confidence way. Classic Beauty, strong features. Think redheaded Angelina.

"At least it wasn't in vain. I assume the man who killed me fulfilled his promise at least since I'm here." She leaned against the table, not paying the odd decorations any mind.

"Still want more money?" Straight and to the point. No point in BSing around after all.

"You don't have anything I want." He said, looking straight at her. Gamma tossed the mug across the room and didn't check to see where it landed. This place and everything in it was completely inconsequential.

Lacing his fingers together he placed bother hands over his stomach and waited. He knew what she looked like and what she was were two completely different things.

"Then there's really no point to this meeting, I suppose." the first time any emotion had seeped into her voice. "I suggest you get rid of the crop and marble if you don't want me haunting your dreams...." She stood up. "I will be free again, with or without your help."
PostPosted: Tue Feb 06, 2007 7:29 pm

Gamma didn't consider this a meeting, or even understand the statement about being free. The haunting part, though, was pretty humorous.

"I don't see how dead people are really an issue when I'm seeing s**t like this in my sleep." No real movement or hint of his voice as to what he meant by 'this' but somehow it wouldn't have been hard to figure out. He just keep looking at her uninterestedly; giving her a once-over when she stood up.

"I'll give you that point." It was then more evident that she wasn't wearing what she had worn the two times he'd seen her before in. It wasn't the white military uniform, but a strange outfit almost like a toga. With a white cape over it. Still looked military-esque...but more...antiquated.

"No harm, no foul. See you in your dreams." And with that, she began to walk past him, to exit from the dream.

"Uh-huh."

Gamma threw his hands up and put them behind his head, leaning further into the chair. Seemed he was content to sit in a flaming bar until something happened.

"Commencing operation."

It would be a while for #387 to jog tactically before he finally met someone.

John Tomorrow stood on the tree branch, watching his opponant come towards him, waiting for him. He was still dressed in his Tribal battle-garb, his hands hanging loose by his sides, his hammer hanging in his right hand. His battle against Juunikyuu had been short-lived, and he hadn't left the Void yet...which meant that someone was still after him.

Or she hadn't been the one he was supposed to fight.

He stood ready, his legs spread, his hand tightening around the grip of his hammer. He lifted his head up to look full-on at the enemy.

"Come on. Lets se hvem er det bedre."

Tomorrow
"Come on. Lets se hvem er det bedre."

"..."

#387 stopped. He'd already jogged several kilometers, but despite this he hardly seemed to be breaking a sweat at all. His breathing was slow and controlled, his pulse was steady and only moderately elevated, though that did not show at all past his ice cold gaze and expressionless face.

"Situation 6; unidentified individual."

It took only one glance to identify the hammer as a weapon, and though he did not understand the dialect the hostile tones in John Tomorrow's voice belied his intentions.

#387 brought his hands in front of him.

"Primary directive: subdue. Commencing operation."

His opponant was unarmed. Although John recognised the fact that you gave the enemy no quarter, he also realised the need to preserve what little honor he had left.

Unlooping the hammer's thong from his wrist, he tossed it away, the heavy weapon flying over the edge of platform they stood on to dissapear into the inky blackness within.

All this as #387 spoke. He seemed like a robot, always announcing his intentions. Would that come to John's advantage?

It didn't matter. Balling his fists, John roared as he suddenly skidded forward, coming in close to #387 with his fists up. His first attack was a jab - which feinted left, allowing for his hard right to swing in toward's #387's head whilst he tried to block or deflect the left jab.

((Different Fight with #387. #387's fights will be noted by his name in (()) at the top of the post. Sutiiven's will be done by his name.

I'm trying to multitask here. Bear with me sweatdrop ))

John blinked for one second - before looking around himself again.

"Dammit...i only wanted to buy binoculars..." He muttered to himself as he turned around and around, trying to figure out his position.

...Which was nothing but boiling purple skies and flat, hard ground. The clouds shifted and warped themselves like milk shifting through water, billowing out around themselves violently. John's boots crunched as he took a step forward - the ground was hard, yet covered in a loose gravel. It would be difficult for a person to keep his footing if he didn't watch his step.

Suddenly a rift opened and out of it fell Sutiiven. Or at least, someone whom looked exactly like Sutiiven. The real one was still in Lament, fighting some psychopath... or perhaps this was the real one? Perhaps a strange time/space paradox caused by the odd attack from his other opponent had sent him here, or perhaps it had created a doppelganger or a completely seperate entity? Maybe he had been summoned at a moments notice from somwhere inside the void, leaving his attacker in Lament alone, or perhaps recreating himself here? The Ethereal Void was a strange place, and it was anyones guess as to the reason for his now being here. The present Sutiiven glanced back and forth, immensly perplexed.

"Uhhhh... whatever the hell is going on, its not my fault."
