Lavi nodded along to her words as he listened, sliding his hands inside his pockets and watching his feet as they moved along the grounds. It must have been a difficult thing for her to decide, although he imagined it was probably more like something uncontrollable that you had to accept at some point and just end. He had never liked the man, but he had made Liv happy and that was what had mattered, so this wasn't happy news. He was glad it had been a mutual agreement, though, and Tyki hadn't done anything to hurt her on purpose.
"I see..." he removed one hand from its pocket to run it through his hair. He bit his lip a little, unsure of what to say, not having a lot of experience or knowledge on the subject. "I suppose that happens sometimes... it's regrettable, but..." He trailed off, fidgeting with the little silver earring in his right lobe.

"Yes...losing the father of your child and the man that once held the key to your heart...it's not easy. But it's for the better now. And now I can just focus on Luci and raising her to be the best she can be. I can't get tangled up in anymore whirlwind romances. I have to focus on my daughter and what's best for her."
Liv smiled and brushed off the levity of the situation, "I think I need a good break from romantic affairs anyway. It'll be good for me."
She really meant what she said then. She needed to be on her own, just her and Luci. She had her friends, and they were wonderful. She felt that was what she truly needed at that time in her life. If later on down the road things changed, then she'd cross that bridge when she got there. It would be hard enough finding a man without having a daughter already, so for Liv it would be more than doubly difficult. She needed to keep things simple and uncomplicated, so she would do just that. No more men.

Lavi looked over to Luci again, realizing that her decision to officially end things with Tyki had been as much for her sake as it had been for Luci's. He smiled a little at her swearing off men for a while. "Well you never know, you might find someone perfect for you and Luci while you're not even looking for it." Even if she made this resolve, he knew better than most some things just couldn't be ignored, however much you tried to suppress them. "The heart does what it wants." He crossed his arms and nodded as if he'd said something particularly clever.

Liv laughed at the way Lavi said his small piece of wisdom. What he said was true though, especially for her. She was a diehard romantic and always would be. Still, she was determined.
"You're right about that...for me it's especially difficult. But I'm going to stay strong," she nodded her head and crossed her arms just as he had, mimicking him.

"Well, I'll help you with that. If I ever see you waver from your resolve, I'll bring you back to your senses." He made a quick slashing motion with his hand as if he was seperating Liv and an imaginary suitor. "Unless I'm rooting for the guy." He laughed, stuffing his hands back in his pockets.
