"We can save the pharmacy for last... ice cream sounds really good right now," she said excitedly, resisting the urge to hop up and down to see. Kiah came to a realization quickly and turned back to him, embarrassed. "But I bet the restaurant would have soba for you," she amended. Walking in the direction she believed it to be, she decided that a few minutes in the book shop would be fun. She didn't want to take up too much of Kanda's time.

(There's not really much of a reason. I just have days like this sometimes where I just feel...er...down is a light term I guess but it should get the point across. I'm usually fine by the next day though.
So no frowny faces pointed in my direction 'kay? I wanna see you all smiling. >:U

Though I shouldn't be upset- since parent teacher interviews went along great yesterday. :I *has a 94 in geography* )

Kiah smiled brightly in reponse and headed for the ice cream booth, slightly dragging Kanda with her. People seemed to give them a little more space then they had before, which slightly confused the energetic girl, but she didn't dwell on it when she spotted the booth.
The middle aged man attending the booth smiled at them as Kiah rushed towards him, straightening up after handing a few kids their cones. "Welcome! What can I get for the cute couple?"
"Oh, we're not... really... a couple...," Kiah waved her free hand frantically to disagree, blushing profusely. She let go of Kanda's arm and fished out her wallet in embarrassment. "I-I'll just have a small chocolate cone, please..."

The moment the words were out of the man's mouth, Kanda's face lit with a small blush on his cheeks. He glanced around awkwardly and cleared his throat.
"I'm just escorting...we're just friends."
He fidgeted when Kiah let go of his arm, and fished into his own pocket for his wallet. He turned back to the man and handed him a bill enough for the both of them.
"Vanilla. Please."

"If I had a pence for every time I've heard that one...," he smiled, handing them their cones and pushing Kiah's money back to her.Kiah blushed and looked up at Kanda, raising an eyebrow when she realized why the man wouldn't take her money. She started walking to a nearby bench with her ice cream, licking it along the way. "You didn't have to do that, you know. I could have paid for it."

Kanda just shook his head at the man and then followed Kiah to the bench.
"It was easier, I already had my money out," he replied before adding, "You can pay for the Soba."
He smiled a little and licked at his ice cream. He hadn't had ice cream in a very long time. He sighed and sat back on the bench, loosening up a little.
"I forgot what ice cream was like."
