Kanda decided to walk just behind Kiah to bring up the rear. That way at least no one would sneak up on her from behind. If someone tried to sneak up on him it didn't matter, because they would be regretting it before they could bat an eyelash. He watched as now and again some gentlemen on the street glanced at Kiah as she passed by them. They didn't seem to care that he was behind her, and maybe they even thought he wasn't actually there with her. He felt a small burning in his chest that he didn't understand as men continued to show a small interest in her, and he followed her a little more closely.
As they got into the heavier populated area, he started to bump shoulders with the citizens, and found himself having to jog every other step to stay close behind Kiah. He frowned at that and decided to change tactics. Falling in line with her again, he slipped his arm around hers to better give the appearance that they were together. He wouldn't lose her if she was attached to his own arm.
"The crowd is getting thick. I wouldn't want to lose you," he explained.

Kiah was starting to feel a bit claustrophobic in the thickening crowd, but gently shoved her way through, wishing she was taller in stature so she could see over everyone's head better. She'd look behind her every so often to make sure Kanda was still with her, but most of her time we dedicated to watching people and ghosting by them.
She was startled when she felt Kanda wrap his arm around hers, blinking up at him with a small blush on her face. "Oh, right... Although I think you'd be the one getting lost around here," Kiah joked, tightening her hold and smiling at him gratefully. "So, ah... Can you see anywhere you'd like to go?" she asked, partially because she was too short to see any of the stands nearby over the crowd.

He smiled a little and scanned over the heads of all the people.
"No. I just came along so you could go wherever you needed to. I can see an ice cream booth and a book shop. There's also a restaurant and pharmacy."
He looked back to her to see if she wanted to go to any of those places.
