That's just my input. As for post-war. Maybe a war had happen between humans and other creatures? Then comes the so called "peace time"?

well it wouldnt really be a war yet, it would be a hunt for anyone who could something other than human. The whole your guilty until proven innocent thing.

Salem witch trials in a whole human vs everything else kind of point? They would get to the point of prosecuting even other humans if they were suspicious.

I was thinking the same thing Italian xd
And about the storyline thing, it still seems kind of random. Something big would have to happen in order for something like this to happen.
