Sil was trying not to look visibly flustered, but nothing could feel quite as terrible as making a Mom cry in front of her daughter. Even if Liv cried a lot, it wasn't exactly on Sil's bucket list to make anyone cry, ever, and besides maybe pulling pigtails as a girl she had made it through most of her life without having to deal with this moment.
However, it just made her feel guilty, and it turned to guilt mixed with anger instead of cooling it. She tried to keep her face calm, sliding her fingers beneath her glasses to rub her eyes in an exasperated gesture. Even if she was angry she didn't want the child to feel bad, and she leaned down so she was eye level at Luci. Her features were still grave, but she managed to force the edge out of her voice with a good amount of effort put into the act.
"Everyone fights, Luci, especially people who love each other. It doesn't mean they don't love each other anymore and they should always try not to fight, but sometimes it reminds you of how much you love someone when you still want to be friends after a fight." She was being reassuring to the child, but she didn't regard Liv during any of her speaking,"We're all still friends, so no worries."

Luci looked confused, but she took what Sil said and accepted it. She looked at her with her glistening blue eyes before putting her arms around the woman's neck. She stood on her toes, leaning her weight against Sil as she hugged her, "...You still love Mommy?" she asked softly, concerned.
At that point Liv sighed heavily at the way Luci was pushing Sil, "Luci...stop it, come away from her," she tugged at the girl to pry her away from Sil, "I did something I shouldn't have, so let her be right now."
Luci loosened her grip on Sil and slowly pulled herself away as Liv told her to. Taking a step back she took Liv's hand and waited for her next instructions.
"Let's go home now. Okay? It's been a long day, tomorrow will be better," she started to walk with Luci back in the direction of the Order. She didn't turn to see if Sil was following and she didn't call back for her to come with them. If Sil was going to come she was going to come, but Liv wasn't going to force anything anymore.

"Of course I do," Sil said softly to the girl, she wouldn't have been so furious and upset to begin with if she didn't love Liv. If there was no friendship or love between them there would have been a lot more swear words and some suggestions as to where opinions could be shoved. Of course the child didn't know her well, though that didn't seem to make a difference. She gave her back a gentle rub before Liv's words peeled her off.
She just needed some time to simmer-- the day certainly had not gone as planned for her. Everything had been so pleasant up until that moment and now Sil just wanted her fist meeting the side of a punching bag.
There was no argument from her, and as Liv and Luci began walking Sil stuffed her hands into her pockets and trailed a few feet behind in silence. She was going to make sure the two made it home safely especially after the late night attack on Kiah. Even if it was daylight, she didn't trust most people farther than she could throw them and she was beginning to learn that she needed to stick to that philosophy. Once they were inside the dark, cool walls of The Order it was time to go their separate ways, but before she didn't want Luci to feel like she was ungrateful for her affection.
"Thank you for coming with us, Luci," Sil said gently. "Any time you want to play and I'm here, your Mommy knows where I am."
