Kanda looked thoughtful for a moment again before replying. He didn't notice her amusement at him.

"Alright... I have enough books to keep me busy though, so don't rush yourself." He returned the smile, pulling his legs up on the couch.
"You should try something else, Yu~" He called to the young man, "There's so many good things, like... yakiniku." He stared off dreamily into the distance, imagining the delicious meat dish in front of him.

"What is that?"
When Kiah agreed he blinked a little and sat back in his chair, taking another mouthful of Soba.
"Do you like that, what Lavi just said?"
(( This reminds me of that special CD where Lavi, Kanda, and Allen got drunk because of Komui. xD ))

"Eh?" Lavi snapped from his food-daydream to stare incredulously at Kanda. "You don't even know what it is?" He shook his head and tutted as if he'd been deeply disappointed. "It's grilled meat. It's really nice."

"Well... I like it sometimes. It depends on what I'm in the mood for, really," she jumped when Lavi whipped his head toward Kanda, as she'd been wondering when he'd stop staring at nothing.
"I prefer a medium-rare steak and mashed potatoes with carrots in them...," Kiah trailed off, refusing to be stuck in a daze as Lavi had been. "But I couldn't eat all of that every day."

Kiah didn't look at all surprised by that. "Well, I recommend it, but I'm obviously biased...," she laughed.
Looking at the clock, she sighed a little, not wanting to leave yet. "I've got to get back to the office now... I'll see you guys later!" she stood up and waved, skipping out the door.
