"Complicated, right....that doesn't even begin to explain what it's become," she sighed a little, "Thank you," she smiled at the wonderful compliment.
"Being nurturing has always come naturally to me, even before Luci was born. When I was a girl I was just as motherly, except that I used to care for my many pets back then," she laughed a little, "But in many ways they're the same thing. I think that Luci will adjust easily. She's strong, much stronger than I am. She takes everything in stride. She's like him in that way...very much unlike me. I cry so much it's silly. Luci hardly ever cries, she just swallows all the bad, overcoming it like it's every day business."
She fiddled with her hands in her lap, looking down. She still wasn't sure how to feel about everything. She would always love Tyki but something had changed in her heart. It had changed even before she left for good. She wasn't sure exactly what it was, but she knew things were different between them. She had hoped that they would be together forever, not ever worrying about the complicated situation that it was. When she didn't get her happily-ever-after she didn't even know how to take it because it was such a surprise. She never expected it to end up like this.
Now she was more worried about how Luci would cope more than herself. She knew she would get by. She had Luci, she would be okay without Tyki. But Luci still needed a father. She sighed a little, wondering what on Earth she was going to do about their broken 'forever'.

"There's nothing wrong with a little crying," Sil chided gently, feeling like the motherly one for just a moment. Even if she avoided the act like the plague, she had become far more familiar with it over the last few months than she had ever wanted to be. "Everyone cries sometimes, and it feels God-awful wonderful on the occasion just to let it out. I hope she ended up with your empathy, because even if you don't like it, I think it's a wonderful trait of yours."
They fell into a moment of silence, and although Sil couldn't read her mind she had a vague idea of how Liv was feeling. It hadn't been that long ago that they had been talking in the kitchen, Liv bearing her soul about her feelings and fighting with herself over what to do with Tyki, and it seemed the decision had come clear to her and things were finally finished. Even if she was a little relieved that Liv was no longer involved with the Noah clan, she couldn't help but feel for her heart break. Personal experience told her how hard it was to move on from someone you love. It was bitter, heartbreaking, warlike.
"Well," Sil sighed, sliding her hands along her legs to rest on her knees. She didn't want Liv dwelling on Tyki too much, which she knew would be hard to do when Luci would always be his daughter, but she could at least try to keep her mind elsewhere if she could. "You do have to tell me about that Mishka fellow. He..." she gave her a slow smile, indicating that even she had to admit he was attractive, but would not say it out loud, "is a catch."

"Yeah, you're right," she smiled and rested a hand on Sil's shoulder in thanks.
She thought about the empathy comment and watched Luci play for a while before replying, "I think she does have empathy...but it's not the same with her. Luci is very...reserved and calculating at serious times. She has very unique ways of showing her affection and her empathy," she smiled fondly at the thought, thinking of how earlier she had patted Soma's head so awkwardly.
When Sil brought up Mishka in the way that she did Liv frowned, "Don't be silly...he's just a new friend. Just because we met on that blind date thing Komui had going back on Valentine's doesn't mean a thing. He's very handsome...and very kind-hearted, that's true...but he's my friend, and only that. I can't even begin to think about getting into an intimate relationship with another man right now. First of all, I can't even begin to know how Luci would react. She needs a good time to adjust to everything before I could even think...and anyway, he wouldn't be interested in me, so the point is moot all around," she finished with a definite tone before adding pointedly, "You should be focusing on your own relationships..."
