Soma was surprised by Liv's response. He had been expecting the worse since this morning. His foreboding all for not. "You're welcome." he responded to Liv. As Luci held out the item, he knelt down to eye level with her. "No thanks is necessary. It was my pleasure," he now addressed Luci. His hand reached up to hers, closing her fingers around the cloth. "I think you better hang on to that for me."
He then stood up and took hold of the open door's handle, while he looked at Liv kindly. "I'll walk from here."

Luci's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting him to let her keep the handkerchief. She smiled at him for the first time since the escort started and gently patted the top of his head with her little hand. It was an odd gesture, but that was what she always did when she wasn't sure about someone enough to give them a hug goodbye, "Goodbye Mr. Soma," she climbed back into the carriage when he said he would be walking back to the Mansion.
"Are you certain? You can take the carriage that I came in. No?" she shrugged her shoulders a little and walked up to the carriage, stopping to look at him, "If he even asks...you can tell him that I had no note for you to give him and nothing to say."
She climbed into the carriage and sat next to Luci, looking back out the window to give Soma a parting wave as the carriage rolled into motion towards the Order.

The head pat was an odd gesture. But it seemed fitting. Luci couldn't be a typical little girl.
"Don't worry about me. I need to stretch my legs," he retorted."I'll make sure to pass along the message or lack there of." As the carriage left, he returned the wave. Once they were out of sight, he put his hands in his pockets and turned in the direction of the mansion. His feet lead the way as one hand fumbled with the coin in his pocket.
