So, there's this thread in the AMC where the girl talks about how she likes yaoi...but wants to know why the artists draw penises.
All I could think is...if you don't want to see a p***s, then WHY ARE YOU READING YAOI!?

Handbasket, hell, etc. I do agree though, it is a little worrying. Of course, there's also the fact that these people may not amount to much when it comes to running the place. Considering how you look at it, this isn't such a bad thing.

scream YES! By the way, to a fellow Right Stuf junkie... I was making a whole bunch of Viz sale orders today (I divide them up by release month lest my order gets held for months while they deal with ADV/Pioneer clean out) when I threw a weekly special on. In my confirm email, they gave me 10% (Got Anime) off the entire thing, -including the weekly special- ...I'll have to watch to see if that's actually the case when my card gets charged.

I'm going to assume it's general confusion with the differences between yaoi, shounen ai, boys love, etc in definition on both sides of the Pacific. I don't know the genre well enough to know what specific thing she actually likes.

I'm going to assume it's general confusion with the differences between yaoi, shounen ai, boys love, etc in definition on both sides of the Pacific. I don't know the genre well enough to know what specific thing she actually likes. She said she likes the kissing. Maybe it is confusion, but I think back to my own experiences. I was fully aware of the differences between yaoi and BL back when I picked up my first BL manga (believe it or not, it was the artwork that initially drew me in...LOL). Of course, I was much older at the time than this girl probably is, and I had already had my hentai cherry popped when I was 22. I was actually surprised that I liked BL and yaoi...and it's been a downward spiral ever since. Stream and I discovered that a good hot blooded mecha series temporarily deactivates the yaoi fan in me...

This is true. But considering that Japanese censorship laws seem to change on a weekly basis, I've seen more than my share of penises in manga. xd
