Maven watched as Kasiya ran into the gym for her stuff and possibly to steal a kiss from Keegan. Maven smiled to herself as she stood amongst the crowd of people. Or it seemed like a crowd of people to her at least, most wouldn't consider a handful a crowd.
She kept her head low and drank her coffee trying to ignore her thoughts that swarmed her head. Her spare hand absently stroked the two pokeballs attached at her side.

The man began to laugh when he saw the Poliwag fall, though he stopped when he heard Crenu's words. 'I've never seen such a careless trainer before. What is he trying to prove?' he thought. Not paying attention to the battle, Crenu's speed caught both the man and his Krabby off guard when the Spinarak made its surprise attack coming out of the Pokeball. The barrage of needles struck the Krabby, who was only able to bring his claws up in defense. Though most of the attack hit true, none of the needles happened to hit a vital enough area to poison the crab. Now ready to fight, the Krabby started to foam bubbles from his mouth in anger.
"Kid, you're too wreckless to understand anything," the man returned with a sigh, shaking his head. He then looked to Krabby. "Now that that Poliwag's gone, I can finally get serious. Krabby, Bubblebeam!" The bubbles that had been near the Krabby's mouth began to vibrate rapidly as he brought them into a more powerful, condensed form. He then blasted them towards the Spinarak, controlling them so that they would fly in a much more linear and pressurized state, adding to the bubbles' explosiveness.

M.A.'s smile was definitely contagious, for it spread just as wide on Ky's face as he completed the high-five. He was glad to have her company; despite how deep his concentration dug into the match, it was impossible to ignore her support. Little Guy smiled as well (well, the Bird equivalent) when he caught Ulani's concerned look. To ease her concern, he stretched his wing out to show that it was okay, hiding his pain as he tucked it back in.
"Thanks, M.A." Ky said, taking a moment to hold the Hive Badge in front of his eyes as he started to head out of the gym. He felt a huge sense of relief as he held his reward in his hand. "I'm just so glad. Sting and Little Guy gave it their all. I can't ask for much more, though it feels so great to win." He then laughed. "Honestly, I had my doubts when I first started. It was so frustrating when I kept losing to Cr..." Ky said, his voice cutting off at the end. He began to think.
'Was that why he left me? Was I too weak? Did I disappoint him?' Ky thought to himself. Not paying attention, he mindlessly stopped just outside of the Gym, hanging his head as he thought. A troubled frown formed on his face. 'Crenu, if I had known that, I would have tried so much harder. Don't worry though; I'll show you power.' After an awkward, silent moment passed, Ky came back to his senses, shaking his head. "Oh... sorry. I blanked out. Uh... so did you learn anything from watching Bugsy?" Ky asked, blushing as he continued to walk again.

"A bubblebeam?" This was a surprising turn of events, Crenu certainly didn't expect a bubblebeam from a small Krabby like that, he had assumed that the Krabby was sting young and weak like Poliwag was. Distracted by his thoughts, Spinarak fell victim to the vicious attack as the explosive bubbles sent her flying back by Crenus feet. Struggling to get to her feet, Crenu watched on with frustration. "Don't tell me that you are as useless as Poliwag! Come on Spinarak, give this your ALL!" Spinarak winced a little from the pain, but got up snapping angrily at the Krabby trying her best to please her master. Crenus aura suddenly flared up in Spinarak as the anger he felt seemed to channel through her, and suddenly became the fuel she needed as her entire body began to glow white. "What's this?" Spinarak began to grow bigger and bigger, her form changing as legs began to sprout from the top of her abdomen and disappear from the bottom where they were before. The glowing subsided and Where Spinarak once stood, a large proud Ariados. Her color was now a magnificent pinkish red with yellow legs, each with it's distict purple stripe. "Heh, well alright then. About time you did something worth admiration. Alright Ariados, show me how much you wish to be a tool of my power. Furry Swipes!" Ariados nodded, using her new more powerful legs to shoot off towards the Krabby, using her hooked front legs to swipe at the Krabby with fierce determination behind every swipe.

Upon being released Moeder took in the situation and came to one conclusion, this man was trying to hurt her babies. Letting out a growl the large pokemon charged forward and shoulder tackled the man to the ground. Dante suddenly having the weight that had been for the most part holding him up fell to the ground before he could catch himself. Not really hurt all that much, though not really pleased either, he shook his head before heading over to where Levi rested unconscious on the ground. Picking her up carefully he cradled her in his arm's and casting one look at Moeder who currently had the man in a painful looking full body pin, he decided it was fine to take her to the pokemon center.
Going as carefully as he could, he didn't want to jostle his precious bundle he finally made it to the pokemon center, it really wasn't to far away. Going through the sliding doors, his concern for Levi growing with each step he made his way to the counter. "Nurse Joy, my pokemon got hurt and she isn't really moving right now." If he normally heard his voice he would have cringed at the lack of the familiar monotone he normally used in any situation.
Looking over Nurse Joy spotted the baby Mudkip in his arms and let out a surprised cry. "Oh my!" Taking the pokemon from Dante carefully she set her on the table and carefully started examining her right away. "Oh dear..." She said softly. "I need to take her into the back room. I think she broke a few bones, and those are not that easy to heal with the equipment we have here. I am going to do the best I can though, it will just take longer. If you come back in two day's I am sure she will be as good as new." She explained to Dante as she carefully picked Levi up.
Frowning slightly Dante looked to the side for a moment before sighing and reaching into his belt he pulled out Levi's pokeball and set it on the counter. "Take care of her then Nurse Joy. I will be back in two day's to check up on her and hopefully take her back with me." Was all that he said as he left the pokemon center. Once outside he let out a shuddering breath and leaned against the wall to support himself. Riffling through his bag with somewhat shaky hands Dante pulled out a lighter and a cigarette. Once it was lite he stood there for a few moment's, during the time Moeder came back over to where he stood.

"If this was any easier, I'd be ashamed!" Rebecca taunted, commanding another Flamethrower from her Flareon. It's not like it was going to miss; Scizor was a sitting target. When the fire appeared, the girl's eyes seemed to shimmer. The crowd whistled loudly and the cameras danced around them from all angles. She laughed happily. "So much for that round!"
Scizor closed her eyes, then took the Flamethrower directly to her chest. She fell onto her back and didn't get back up. Scorch marks decorated her legs and front. After a collective 'Awww' from Kilik's supporters, the boy recalled his fallen partner and picked up another ball; Flareon's. Damn...I shouldn't have picked Flareon to fight against her! I don't know what tricks she'll pull.. Kilik flicked his wrist and tossed the ball out, Why didn't I choose Ludicolo instead!? The ball burst open and Flareon appeared once more to a collective cheer. He paced circles around the other Flareon, examining her with every bit of caution. "Flareon! Bite!" Flareon broke into a run, opening his mouth and slamming into the female. The two Flareons rolled on the ground in a barrage of snarls and teeth, claws, and saliva.
"Oh no!" Rebecca placed a hand over her mouth, feigning worry, "Flareon, hit back with Shadow Ball!" The female fox nodded once and rolled over and over again until she was on top of Kilik's Flareon. She opened her mouth and fired, point blank, a ball of swirling black energy. The crowd cheered loudly at the explosion, and as the smoke cleared, Rebecca rubbed beneath her nose very adamantly. "Haha! So much for that round...too?! Where---!!" When the smoke was gone, the crowd gasped. Her Flareon was standing on the arena, over nothing but a small crater caused by Shadow Ball's force. But where had Kilik's Flareon gotten to?
"Quick thinking is often the best in battle, Rebecca!" Kilik jeered, "Which is why Flareon knew to use Quick Attack right before the attack hit!" The massive applause was almost deafening. The cameras now paid attention to Kilik as he smirked at the girl. "My Flareon's not going to be easy! Now then, Quick Attack again! Show that wannabe what you can do!" Flareon crouched then broke into a blinding run, followed by a stream of white light. His eyes focused on his female target and he hit, dead on. His forehead smashed against the other's ribcage, sending her spiraling backwards towards Rebecca.

Mary-Anne watched concernedly as her friend seemed to lose himself to his thoughts. A shadowed, disturbed look seemed to settle itself in his downcast eyes; for what reason, though, she wasn't so sure. He said something about being frustrated by losing to someone, but the girl hadn't caught the name. What could be bothering him? Racking her brains, she could only think of one thing -- Crenu's departure, naturally. But then again, she'd only known Ky for two days; she couldn't know what he meant with certainty.
Besides, he seemed eager to move to another subject now. She was unsure of whether or not she should persue the subject of his troubles -- would it be right? No, no, she shouldn't pry into his personal thoughts, whatever they may be. In the first place, she was probably over-thinking all of this. "Well. . . I'm afraid I can't say I've learned too much," she laughed feebly, going along with him. "I was more on the side of cheering you on then analyzing the match. But thinking back. . ." she paused, tapping a slender finger against her chin. "Both you and Bugsy used your strenghths as an advantage, and looked for openings. That's something I gotta learn from."
She said nothing else for a while, as they plodded silently on to the PokeCenter for the night. However, her eyes scanned him perplexedly, wondering what was in his head. Suddenly, she grabbed the fellow, grappling him under her arm and giving him a noogie (unconsciously like Crenu the day before). "Hey, you, good job and all, but is there anything bugging you?" she asked when she released him, leaning down just a tiny bit so that they were on eye-level. She was, after all, rather tall for her age.

Twinkers set to exploring the dark musty attic. The boxes, furniture and assorted junk were arranged in such a way thet it resembled a maze. Several times the small pink Pokemon found herself in a dead end and had to backtrack and try a different "path". Her Skitty companion was jumping from cloth covered furniture to busted end table keeping somewhat close to her comanion. Neither of them wanted to be alone in this scary place.
Talking seemed to be out of the question, the duo were straining there ears to try and hear if anything else lived up here. Twinkers had had the feeling that they were being watched for a while but couldn't see anything. The nagging feeling just seemed to get worse the longer they explored. Twinkers walked down another path but this too led to dead end. Then there was a noise. A muffled thud of something trying to land quietly. Twinkers froze. She turned slowly to see feral looking yellow eyes seemilngy glowing in the darkness a good four feet from the floor.

Allegra was rather happy exploring this dank, dark attic; for a while there she even forgot that they were searching for treasure. Her vision was pretty good up here in the dark, and even though she was only slightly bigger than the star-shaped Cleffa she'd been adventuring with, she was sure to keep her within her sights.
Twinkers wasn't the only one with that eerie feeling. As the kitten clambered up onto an old loveseat, her senses were on full alert. A shadow moved out of the corner of her eye, and Allie tilted her head quickly, her ears lying flat against her head. "We're not alone," she told Twinkers solemnly, watching as the Cleffa seemingly seized up on the spot, having heard something she did not. The Skitty followed the tiny fairy's gaze, a startled gasp escaping her throat as she too spotted the glowing, amber eyes staring out at them. Her mind racing, the kitten struggled to think of something. Her eyes lit up and she leapt gracefully from her perch, landing protectively in front of Twinkers. "Cover your ears," she told the Cleffa in a hushed voice before taking a step forward. The kitten took a big breath of air, focused on her target, and suddenly began to sing; the sound was much like that of a music box, each note fairly staccato in length, yet at the same time the melody was strangely soothing and relaxing. The kitten poured her focus into continuing her song, hoping that any would-be enemies would be lulled to sleep.

Ray covered his face from the scratch attack Flametail left. "It stings you know. You're lucky I don't have nails." Flametail started laughing at him crying and covering up his face. The Charmander walked over to the dresser and started packing their stuff in a bookbag. After he rubbed his face, Ray looked over to Flametail, "Are you putting in all the important things? Like my lucky panties I found?" Flametail quickly reached for the alarm clock and threw it back into Ray's face. Flametail continued to pack, while Ray rolled around covering his face once again. "That hurts, you know."
The Charmander finished packing and walked over to Ray. Ray uncovered his face, "Huh? Done already? That's quick." Flametail nodded his head and made a muscular pose. He laughed and said, "Muscles have nothing to do packing." Flametail turned his head and faced the other way as if it was disappointed. "You know I care about you, Flametail. You're the only thing I have in this world. Same for you, you understand, right?" The Charmander turned to him, smiled, and hugged him. His tail lit up a bit more.

Even after launching such a successful attack, the man's Krabby shrunk in terror as he watched his opponent transform into the monstrous spider-like creature. Unable to move his legs, the Krabby brought his arms up to guard, only to have them raked away by the Ariados's first powerful strike. Then, 2, 3, 4, 5 hits followed, leaving deep trench-like cuts in the Krabby's hardened shell surrounding his face. The Krabby shrieked as the cuts began to burn in pain, his eyes closed shut in agony. Without word from his trainer, he blindly blasted the ground in front of him with water, hoping to nail his foe with a counter Mud Shot. The man could only stand back and stare, unsure of how to handle the situation. Despite his best efforts, things were turning for the worst.

As soon as Ky managed to get out of M.A.'s grasp, his face turned an immediate bright red. That was way too cute for him, and his discomfort could be seen in his eyes as he looked back. Even so, he knew there was no reason to be shy. She was just being friendly after all. A small smile soon replaced his bewildered look.
"Yeah, there's a lot of things bothering me," he replied. "I keep thinking of Crenu... I shouldn't though... it's just I can't seem to figure out the why's and the when's ya know?" He then thought a bit. "I mean, well... it's just frustrating," he finished, realizing he wasn't really getting his point across well. "You don't have to worry about me though. It's just been a while since I've lost a friend..." His face then went back to one of hidden pain, a face that struggled so hard to forget his memories in front of others.

M.A. could only smirk amiably as his face began to resemble the color of Pikachu's cheeks. She was a demonstrative kind of gal, and although she could see his squirmishness clearly as day, she figured it'd be perfectly fine. They had been strangers the day before yesterday; they were more or less familiar, now.
As she watched Ky's face contort and how much he tried to restrain it, she realized the depth of his hurt. Well, of course. Of course he felt the way he did. Crenu had been such a good friend to him, almost like a mentor and brother. . . And his change had been so unexpected, even to her.
She remembered the hour Crenu had left; was it today? It felt like ages ago. How cold his words had been. Yet he had told her to 'take care of Ky' for him. Surely there was some warmth still left in him, somewhere -- at least for his former friend. There was a silence as M.A. tried to find the words to say, the words that could help. There really wasn't any that could bring the Crenu Ky wanted back, though. "I can't say I know the answer to anything," she said softly. "But. . . I know this sounds like a bunch of crap to you, but sometimes people change. Or sometimes, maybe it's just that another, hidden and locked-up side of them emerges and takes over. I don't know. That doesn't mean they're gone completely though, right?" Pause. "I think. . . Y'know, you're a strong guy, Ky. And you'll keep getting even stronger. So one day, when you meet him again. . . " What was she trying to say? When he met Crenu again, he might stop him? Stop him from what, or before what? She didn't know at all, not at all; maybe what she had said made no sense.
"And if it means anything, you've found me as a friend, too."

"Thanks, M.A.," Ky said. "It means a lot to me, really." Closing his eyes, he took one long deep breath. "I can't say whether I'll be strong enough the time I see him again, but I know what I need to do, and it's all that I can do. I need to be his friend. Whether that means anything to him is up to him."
After giving Little Guy and Sting to Nurse Joy at the counter, he soon found his stomach grumbling and his eyes beginning to feel heavy. "Wow, Ky. You and your Pokemon look beat. You guys should go get something to eat while I set up some beds. Sound good?" Nurse Joy asked, a little concern in her voice.

Ray stood up and walked over to the door. "Are you ready?" He looked over to his Charmander. Flametail nodded and smiled, "Char!" He stiff kicked the door and fall. He screamed in pain, "I forgot the door opens by pulling on this side." Flametail fell on the floor and started laughing. Ray stopped laughing and looked at his Charmander laughing. He licked his thumb and slid it from Flametail's forehead to his nose. Flametail quickly stopped laughing and started to rub off the saliva from his face. "Now that's funny," Ray said, as he laughed at his Charmander. "Ok, we should really get ready." Flametail got up and nodded. Ray kneeled in front of his Charmander, "You know, there's probably a lot of trainers and Pokemon out there. You must not be afraid. Don't show them any fear and they will respect you and never look down on you." Flametail nodded once and lifted his hand quickly, "Charmander!" Ray stood up and opened the door, "Our journey starts now."
