Well I made the revisions, thanks for the feedback. I must have skipped over a few discreet yet major details like the requirement for special equipment. Don't know how I missed the one special weapon per squad; I must have gotten carried away. The reason why I took veteran sargeants and a Vox network was because my Heroic Senior Officer would push everyone's leadership up to 9, while veteran sargeants would keep morale up in case the General got boned, as well as packing another plasma weapon (which can usually help). However, I am a fair 40k novice, so I'll follow you ideas, knowing them to be wiser.

Another question I had was pertaining to an infatuation with the Tallarn Desert Raiders. I really love the Forge World models they've put out, especially the Rough Riders, but I noticed a distinct lack of basic infantry among other things. Does anyone know whether they are in the works or not? If not, I was looking at the classic guardsmen range, and thought they may look a bit out of place with the other cats. Any ideas?

Still, dump the vox caster network, saves you quite the amount of points,. points better used giving your army a better AT department.

As for the Tallarn, who knows? Maybe in the future more Tallarn will be made by FW, but seeing as they are now going Death Korps crazy, it will be some time before we see something else.

GW did real Tallarn units. There's some in blisters, and some in a box, fresh from the new worldwide campaign.
I think they also come with Heavy and Special weapons.

Indeed they do.
UKGW FTW

Here's one, and the full Army Selection, including GW and FW produce, painted up and to a similar scale photograph. That can be found here.

And this has very little to do with Imp Guard but I have to ask. What does AP 1 do?

Well if you know what AP6 and AP4 do, then AP1 is pretty self-explanitary.
But if your opponant has a weapon with AP1, get rid of it ASAP.

Only if you play armoured company or somegay.

If you're a troop horder, say an ork or sporting Guardsman player ( xd - I get it, don't worry), don't worry. In fact, be glad that your opponent was stupid enough to waste his points on the weapon.

Buy the rulesbook and read it. If you already have one, read the section detailing weapons.

I'm cheap, so personally I'm going with Cadians. I wanted to do Steel Legion, but they're bloody expensive, and I have to ship from the UK. I've got some sort of insane color scheme worked out, with white tanks, and your standard color scheme Cadians in various states of winter clothing. In essence, they'll look a bit like US Troops during the Bulge.

Anyways, I'm not too experienced with the actual game yet, and my starting force is going to be rather small. Just my Troop Choices, and a tank. Something. I'm just debating what to have my Heavy Weapon choice be. I'm thinking Rocket Launchers, as they'll not only look nice, but let me ping both Hordes and Tanks. I'm also curious wether or not I should replace all my Grenade Launchers with Plasma Rifles, and pray to the dice Gods. In my experience, Grenade Launchers just have too small a blast to really peg lots of things.

You should get a command squad as well, seeing as standard force organization requires that you do so.
