X3Ty well... i play the alto. i got it as a gift from my uncle, so im not that good at it yet. ive been teaching myself =D. my main instrument is the clarinet hehe =D but the alto sax is fun. i learned to play sadness and sorrow from naruto on it!! hehehe im such a nerd Xp I'm teaching myself an instrument, too. I think it's harder to learn a new instrument, because you aren't as good as you are at your primary instrument at first. I know that that has discouraged me a bit.
I'm playing a bunch of Nintendo music on my Sax and Oboe, though. xd

Ugh.
Me+tightened braces+rubber band +tenor sax= squeeaaaking. And I couldn't play the low D very well. D:
And all that replacing tenor with alto equals an overall bad sound. D:
Gah. I hate braces.

Braces mess everything up. >_< I've adjusted now, so it sounds normal again. But that was a baaad day for my playing.
And I get to try out the Bari Sax sometime next week! Yaaaaaaay! :]

Hello, I play Alto sax primarily, but I also play tenor, bari, and soprano. I'm in the jazz band at my school but I'm also in three jazz bands, one plays progressive jazz, another is more rock oriented, and the other one is a hip-hop jazz fusion type thing, it's pretty tight...

I started with Alto, got bored, then switched to Soprano,
then got bored again, then got a Bari.
Then I switched back to Alto! :]

Uh, I guess the best you can do is go get it fixed.
If it's fixed already, take it back, and see if they messed anything up, or something.

I play the alto. I'm in marching band and concert band. I didn't do jazz this year because only two altos make it and I am only a freshman and three seniors were trying out so I didn't. dramallama

I want to be in jazz and concert...D: But I don't know if that's possible. You can only be in jazz as a sophomore, and I don't know if I can have Marching, Concert, and Jazz as all of my electives.
I don't like to choose. >_<

So, I just tried out the Bari Sax today. =D It's cool...though it's hard to get the notes to play right, so I'll probably have to sit down while playing it, and warm up a LOT.

(Must...keep...thread...alive!)
So, I had my first marching band practice yesterday. And my arm really hurts, because I'm not used to holding my saxophone with my arms out and such. Any tips to get stronger, so I can hold it better? (It's mainly my right arm.)

I feel nub cakes..
I've been playing for about 3 years.
In that 3 years I've played...
Alto, Tenor, and Barry.
In a addition to Clarinet.
Before switching to woodwinds I played Percussion...Stuff like Timpani.
But now it's all good
