 He kept calling for either officer, trying to get out but soon they had to strap him down, moving him quickly into the ambulance. He didn't want to go, he didn't know these people. A mask was placed over his nose and mouth to subdue him, but hearing the man he looked over, breathing hard through his panic and reaching out for him. "No, not me. You. Are you okay?" he asked, voice fading out as the medicine kicked in, hand falling limp out of the gurney. They couldn't have him trying to struggle, and this was the easiest way to see what was wrong. Tim wanted to make sure Daren was okay.

  Daren nodded, the smile in place as he picked up the limp hand and gave it a small squeeze, "i'm fine. just focus on recovering, ok? you need to rest. it's ok, i won't leave you, so go ahead and sleep, Tim. you're safe now." whatever s**t was going on his his head wasn't important right now. Tim needed him and that was going to be his lifeline. he could forget everything else, shove it aside and ignore it because right now he was needed and that was all he would allow himself to think about.

Tim faintly heard the voice, passing out due to the gas. Daren't wasn't fine. He wasn't. Did he feel like he was being swallowed whole? Putting it off was bad. His eyes closed, and when he opened them a few seconds later he was staring at the lighting of the ever familiar hospital ceiling. He heard his heart rate, the mask was still over his face, he had IVs in him, and he was sore. No doubt one of the IVs was medicine to counter the effect of the pain, but he was still sore. "Daren?" he asked softly, trying to get out of the high of sleep medication and looking around. "Jason?" Though he hoped Jason hadn't worked on him, he prayed to god Jason hadn't worked on him.

 Daren looked over from where he'd been leaning against the window. "hey," he said softly, smiling as he walked over to sit beside Tim's bed. "good morning, how are you feeling? want me to call a nurse to get you some more meds?" It had been nearly twenty-four hours since the attack, they had only just decided to take him off the sleeping medication, so he was probably still groggy. Madison had come to visit, having learned of Tim's condition after his shift ended, but Daren had convinced him to go home and sleep since he had an early morning shift the next day. he himself had long hours to firmly place a lid over what had happened in the cabin. he still remembered, but he felt nothing in association to it. he was back to his normal self, ng tightly locked down, but that was what worked for him. "I'm sure my face isn't really what you want to see right now, but Madison's working. he said he'll come and visit during his lunch."

Hazel eyes flickered over to the voice, discerning the blurred shape to be Daren. "Muddy." The proper word was muddled, but proper vocabulary was still recharging so he had to choose the next best thing. "I want to get out." he murmured, "When will they let me out?" He tried to sit up, his back screaming otherwise and forcing him to lay back down. "Medicine would be nice, but I don't want him seeing me like this. He's seen me enough times like this." he gave a weak chuckle. "It's not very attractive."

Daren chuckled, "yes, well, this will be your last time." he'd made a decision while Tim was sleeping, he just wasn't sure how to bring it up. "you will be let out in a day or two, when you are able to manage the pain with a lesser medication, and when they are sure there aren't any permanent effects from all this." he pressed the button for the nurse and took a deep breath. "Tim, when you've a clearer state of mind, we need to talk," he looked at his hands, "but i'll let you rest for now."

"Talk about what?" he asked, "I'm not all muddy, you know." Daren sounded so serious, it didn't mix well with the medicine in his stomach. "No I don't want to rest. I've been resting all day." and struggled to sit up, his entire back crying out for release, "Daren what's wrong?"

 Daren licked his lips, "Tim, I," he hesitated and had to take a moment to figure out how best to say this without hurting Tim. "I think-" "Hello, Mr. James," a young woman came into the room with a clipboard, "i'm glad to see you are awake, sorry for interrupting. i just need to check a few things and i'll be out of your way." she checked the monitors and took a few notes before moving to Tim's side. "ok, how is your pain right now? would you like me to give you some more medication for it?"

If Tim had the strength he would have yelled at the nurse, but all he manged was a pitiful look towards her before giving a weak smile. "No, I'm good right now." He was starting to hurt but he didn't want his thoughts to be foggy for what Daren was going to say. "Maybe in an hour or two? I'm still pretty numb with medication, but thank you for asking." Please get out.

The nurse looked doubtful, but nodded anyways, "alright. you just let me know if you need anything, ok?" she smiled at them both and left, continuing on with her duties. Daren watched in silence, but once she was gone, he found he'd lost a bit of his nerve. "ah, um-" he cleared his throat and sat up straight, looking Tim in the eyes. "I think that we shouldn't live together anymore. clearly living with me is dangerous. Not only do you have to deal with my temper, but you also have to survive the nut jobs that come after me. Tim, watching you here, in this hospital again, i just-" he shook his head, dropping his eyes, "no one can say it was anyone's fault but mine. if it weren't for your living with me, you would have never been targeted. both you and George were put in danger and it is my fault which is why-" he looked back at Tim, "which is why i am going to move. i plan to talk to Iroh about going to one of the bigger cities, Detroit or Chicago, some place where i will be just another cop. i feel that if i stay here, i'll just keep putting more and more people in danger and i can't-i can't do that."

Hazel eyes barely wavered as Daren spoke, face going from concerned to horrified. "You can't!" he shouted "It's not dangerous at all! Daren your temper is fine! You've had to deal with me! I nearly raped you!" Like that was going to keep Daren from moving, "Daren you're my only friend here please you can't move! And I can't impose on Jason we've only just started dating!" Why? Why why why? Was Tim really that awful? Was it because Tim himself attracted Danger? "Can't, can't you just move to another city nearby? Just a twenty minute drive, we can still see each other and stuff." he asked hopefully, though the look on Daren's face proved that he had already finalized his decision. "Please, please Daren you're the only one I can talk to, please don't go."

Daren smiled sadly, he'd screwed up. Tim was blaming himself instead of Daren, who was really at fault. "we'll figure out a place for you to live. i'd offer the flat, but since that was already broken into, you probably wouldn't feel safe." he sighed, "look, Tim, you are blaming yourself, but this isn't your fault. i just-" he looked down at his hand, the one that hand held his salvation and freedom the day before, "i can't watch you get hurt anymore. how many times is it? how many times will it be? i've hurt you so much and yet you are begging me to stay with you. Tim, i'm worse than Givens! i don't hurt you myself, others hurt you and i do nothing to save you, i just watch as your tortured over and over again and it's all my fault! how long before i start hurting Iroh? or Anna or Tarte or even the kids! if i can't protect one man from the hell that surrounds me, how can i protect them all?"

"But Andrew is still--Daren I don't want to live alone Andrew is still out there! Aomine said that he'd seen Andrew recently! And that Andrew would see me again soon!" he curled up on the bed, trembling and starting to panic. "It's not your fault at all! It was coincidence! It could have been anyone! If I had been someone else your father still would have picked them! If I had been with anyone else Andrew would have still found me!' the tears were rolling down his face, eyes wide as he looked at the officer. "You found me! You found me and that was enough to save me!" he sobbed, "And Iroh knows how to treate you, and you would never hurt anyone from that family! We hardly know each other but you've known them and they know what to do! We're bound to make some mistakes it happens just don't leave! Who else will I have to talk to?!"

"IT ISN'T RIGHT!" Daren finally snapped, his hands curled into fists. "It isn't right that i should be the one with-with such a kind, amazing friend when you are stuck with s**t! i'm holding you back. how can you go and make proper friends if i'm always here, in your way? someone as beautiful and kind as you doesn't deserve s**t like me claiming to be your friend, you deserve someone-someone human!" he closed his eyes, "and i'm not. Tim-everything he did to you...he did it to me too and when he told me to-to-" he was shaking, "i did it. i beat them to unconsciousness, just like he wanted because i am s**t. because i would rather hurt an innocent man than have to face the punishment of disobedience, but you-" he looked at Tim, his eyes wet with tear and full of awe, "you said no. you actually stood up to him and refused to obey, even though you knew you would be punished, and someone as good and pure as you is only dirtied by someone as filthy as me."

TImothy flinched as Daren yelled, cowering slightly before quickly retorting. "I DO HAVE FRIENDS!" he shouted back, cowering someone again in case Daren decided to retort. "I have Andy and Daniel and the other people at work! And then there's Caesar at the suit shop and his family is always kind! Then I have the baseball team when I join!" he tried to move towards the man, IVs stopping and tugging at the skin before he stopped, angry and hitting the sheets. "I said no because I didn't want to hurt you! I was a whore in front of you! I let him take me! I put on a show for him! I let him and George fill me! I raped George!" he moaned softy, covering his face in shame. "How is George? I want to visit him but he hates me, I know he does, I ruined him for his family, his children. I can't live with that, Daren." And he could still feel the sensitivity in his chest. The doctor's had to leave them in, Aomine had pierced him properly and taking them out could cause infection. he didn't want Jason to see, but he looked at the teary blue eyes in shock. "I've been hurt by Andrew, Daren. You saw, you saved me from that. I survived it, he said I wouldn't, that I'd die, but I survived Andrew, so I could survive him." he gave a weak laugh. "The only makrs he left are on my chest, and even those can be removed." but he'd raped George, so Aomine had left scars far deeper than just skin. Timothy couldn't feel clean, knowing what he'd done. force him to get aroused, use him as a toy, rape him... He felt dirty, filthy.
