Don't think, feel... those words triggered reminded her of what Blink told her while she was trying to figure out how to go into Amp's room on her own.

Flashback


Though Blink said she was a teleporter, what Force said seem to make more sense. Despite of being capable to teleport she did it using the medium of shadows. So to move an object through shadows, she would have to use both sides to her power. Shadow manipulation to hold the object and focusing on the starting point and destination. "I think I may have an idea on how to get this to work. I'm hoping if I can figure this out, perhaps cleaning out the fridge, sorta speak, would be easier. Is there something I can test it on, perhaps, something you won't miss?"

Shadow Walker looked toward a cup that was on a high shelf. She focused on it, she could sense the shadow inside the cup good, I could feel that one now let's see if I can sense the one underneath… there…. Thinking of the shadow as an extension of herself was helpful, for it allowed her to form a hand of sorts. Stretchy, fingers sarted forming from under the cup. Then it was able to hold it she was able to extend it to the wrist. She smiled and said, "Got it, I'm holding it with the shadow." She tried to pull it down into the shadow but it seemed to be blocked. There were several tries with this. "Hmm, there's something I'm missing…" Was it visually seeing the bookshelf that made it seem like she was trying to pull through a wall? Perhaps she was thinking too much of the logistics. "I almost have it, I feel like it's on the tip of my tongue-er shadowy finger tips. For some reason instead of pulling it into the shadow I'm blocked by the book shelf. I almost have it, what am I missing?" she rubbed her head thinking how did going through shadows work for her.

Shadow Walker found herself wondering what was he forewarning about. But found her eyes were covered startling her a little causing some things in the room to rattle. She was calmed by his hand on her shoulder, she listened to him carefully. No obstacles…just feel…

She cupped her hands and focused on the object she was trying to reach earlier. With some trial and error she felt the cup. "There I think I got it." It felt like she had another arm with fingers and she was like plucking an object from a tree. She thought of a couple of ways to do this. One was to pull it down and place it in her hand but she wondered if there was a more direct route. She remembered how she normally traveled through shadow, she fell through or sink into it. She needed to apply that somehow here...she pictured the cup falling through a hole and low and behold the cup fell through the hole and through her cupped hands and landed on the floor. "Did that work?"

Shadow Walker smiled at her accomplishment. But she couldn't do it without some coaching from Force, "You most certainly have a knack for this. Hmm... I wonder, if I can make it fall through a hole perhaps I can suck it in like... I dunno... a vacuum cleaner? Perhaps, for another day... I think if we can acquire a trash bag I might be able to clear all the smelly stuff in the fridge."

"Actually that was exactly what I had in mind. Though I doubt you want what's in the fridge to fall on us hence the necessity of a trash bag. I think it may be best to keep the lights on for now, helps limits possible messy mistakes."

Force got her a trash bag. Holding it closed, she closed her eyes and felt where it was, the bag crinkled as she was doing so. Then she reached out toward the fridge, then focused on the items. The shadow felt like an arm with multipe branches. Feeling ready for the items to drop through she tightened the grip on the bag. She let them fall through and the items fell into the bag from the bottom. It kind of looked like a bag of popcorn filling up. Luckily it didn't over flow.

After that som parts of the shadows in the fridge still felt a little sticky. Was there any way for her to resolve that right now, she couldn't think of any but perhaps there may be away suck in the liquid and crumbs at least. She thought of a vacuum and willed the shadows to be have like one for a moment. All that remained now was the sticky remains.

"Ok I think I'm done. I even tried sucking this down, like a vacuum, into the shadow and on into the bag. There was some sticky stuff in there…I'm guessing spilled juice? I'm afraid I couldn't figure out how to get that stuff off."

Catherine laughed a little at his comment. "I doubt that. I think it will be a long way to go before I can vacuum just the dust. At this point if I tried vacuum dust I'm afraid I'd suck all the whole room in. I dunno considering how small dust is it would take a different level of concentration."

"As for adapting well, I guess I am. I think what really helps is feeling it rather than thinking too much on it. Heh, you should have seen me try to go into Amp's room on my own for the first time. I must have looked crazy staring at the wall or something."

Catherine smirked, "Wow that is impressive! I don't think Warp has done that but… I think you'd like this. At the big MRD Parade he had sabotage a sentinel to go after the humans." She laughed a little,"Great first impression huh? I heard they had to change the head of the MRD."

Shadow Walker frowned at his response. Though Force had a point, he was right in that she did not agree with him.
"Homo-superior, ofcourse. Who cares if they were there for one reason or the other. They show no tolerance toward me for simply being there, why give them any in return?"

"Do you know how I ended up remembering who I was before I came to Genosha!?... My parents had unveiled a huge photo of me, instead of morning for me they were simply using me as a martyr."

"The day of my graduation, people were throwing food at me. Even though I earned the grades to graduate, they all kept saying 'You don't deserve the diploma mutant! Freak!' etc. It drove me over the edge, I sealed their mouths somehow, because I wanted them all to shut up. No one died, they were just freaked out about their mouths briefly. Publicly they made that event the one where I died in. I ran home, and instead of letting me in the gates they just left a note saying they disowned me, then threw me in a coffin and pushed it off a cliff in some sick public display!" tears were starting to crawl out of her eyes.

"All my life I've been avoided because of my status. Then becoming a homo-superior, gave them another reason to avoid me further. I've never been accepted by anyone, not even my family until I ended up on shore here..." she wiped her eyes.

"So tell me Force... why should I...why should I give ... give.. a damn about them?!" the word 'damn' sounded awkward for she normally didn't use such foul language. "If you care about them so much... why are you not an X-Man?"
