As Amara began to clear the table, Fletcher rose and stretched. "Well, I'm ready to unwind a bit before bed. Think Miyuki will sleep tonight? She did have a nap this morning."
Earendil chuckled. "Well she was active enough this afternoon."

"And hopefully she will sleep because of it," Lin replied.
Finished in cleaning up, Lin bounced Miyuki a bit.
"I find she likes to get up early anyways," she added remembering this morning.

"Then why don't we all sit in the living room and relax a bit, and Amara can get some rooms ready for you all," Fletcher smiled warmly.
"We've only got two spare rooms," Amara spoke up, "so I'm not sure how this is going to work ... Earendil of course needs a room of his own, but ..."
Both rooms had only single beds, and Lin, Haldia and Miyuki wouldn't all fit in one bed ...

That was a good question, especially seeing as Earendil was the only male and would have to sleep on his own.
"I'm not sure," Lin murmured.
How to do this, she blinked looking at Earendil.

"You take the bed, Lin," Haldia said softly, making herself comfortable on a chair and pulling her legs up. "I slept most of the day away, I don't need a bed anyways."
Earendil blinked at her. "Are you sure? I can stay out here, I don't mind ..."
Haldia smiled and shook her head. "No, don't worry so much about me. You need to rest. I've slept all day."

"But that will mess up your sleeping patterns," Lin protested.
Besides that wouldn't it be very lonely to be up when everyone else was asleep? Lin had never suffered from insomnia or any other sleep disorder, so she couldn't imagine being awake when everyone else was sleeping.

Haldia smiled. "Not really ... to be truthful, it's more what I'm used to."
"Night elf," Earendil teased her, chuckling.
Haldia giggled. "Exactly. I'm sure I can find something to keep myself occupied."

Lin smiled at that, as long as it would be alright for Haldia. She supposed it made sense, going from night to day was a hard adjustment.
"Alright then, as long as you'll be alright."

Earendil reached over and put one hand on Haldia's knee. "I'll stay up with you for a while," he told her. "After all you can't spend the entire night alone."
Fletcher stretched and leaned back in his chair. "So did any of you get a chance to enjoy the snow before the storm began?"

"Well a bit of it," Lin admitted.
At least before Miyuki began dumping snow and freaking out.
"Hopefully the weather will clear to have some fun tomorrow."
Hopefully with less incident than today.

"That would be nice," Earendil agreed. "I have to admit, I never thought snow could be so problematic. I know Lin has told me stories of the houses being just about buried in it, but ... so quickly?"
Fletcher chuckled. "First snow is usually the worst, unless it's a bad year."

Lin grinned at that, it was hard to imagine sometimes something so small could create something so big. Like a huge hill of snow for starters.
"Think about it, if the weather is clear tomorrow we can build walls out of that snow."

"Walls?" Haldia blinked, confused. "But we are already inside, why would we build walls?"
"I'm afraid I must concur with Haldia," Earendil agreed. "Why walls?"
Fletcher chuckled. "My dear friends, making snow forts is a staple of winter. It simply must be done."
The two still looked completely lost.

Lin nearly just broke down laughing at the look on the two's faces. Normally she found it difficult when people didn't understand her, but this was funny.
"It goes along with snowball fights," Lin explained, "It's a fun thing kids like to do, they make forts, or houses or what have you."

Earendil and Haldia stared at Lin, not entirely sure why it was so funny.
"I think it may be one of those things that you have to experience before you can appreciate it," Earendil commented finally with a shrug.
Haldia of course had a harder time understanding it, because where she was from they hardly used walls at all.
